Alesana - The Emptiness: Complete album in order of the story.

I love Alesana, and I think that this is their best album. I really love all of the songs but I probably like "The Murderer" and "Hymn for the Shameless" the most. This really is the perfect music to write creepy poetry and break chairs to. . .

@TheUnWantables Well Annabell Lee was written by Edgar Allen Poe, this story is based off of Poes' work written by Dennis Lee and Shawn Milke known as The Emptiness, thus the album title

@TheUnWantables It is based on the poem Annabel Lee, Tell tale Heart, and Cask of Amontillado (all E. A. Poe poems). So yea and no. It is neither a continuation or an addition to the poems. They wrote the story BASED ON the poem Annabel Lee. The album is a concept album meaning the whole album put together makes and/or tells a story, the story for this album is The Emptiness

Can't believe that this album is based on Annabel Lee from Edgar Allen Poe. I have always been a fan of Poe's work!

The story that all of these songs entail are based off of Poe's "Annabel Lee", with references also from "The Tale-Tell Heart" (When The Artist buries Annabel under the bricks in their basement.) Also, [in] Her Tomb By The Sounding Sea is the last line Poe ever wrote. Very much of this album is based on Poe's work.

This song really has nothing to do with Annabel ceasing to love him. He is "The Artist", and his paintings have become more and more demonic with the passing days. Once, within his dreams, "The Thespian" told him to look behind him, and when he did, he awoke to see "Annabel" standing over him with a knife because the images he painted depicted him killing her. He panicked and killed her instead, hence "Curse of the Virgin Canvas". The others depict his morning for her, and her funeral.

My "Annabel" was taken from me this year and my heart was in peices.

Losing her was almost the death of me. I had to bleed to keep the thoughts from consuming.

Seeing her face everyday and her dead eyes, void of love for me... it was torture. Everyone thought I hated her for turning on me, but truthfully... I would suffer a thousand deaths for her still.

Now she is gone from me but we meet in my dreams...

Alesana helped me to face my every feeling concerning her.
