Gonna make a cover of this song when my keyboard arrives :3
I've also been wondering - after the game; where do Heather go? Back to the apartment to Harry, or trying to leave it all behind and start a new life?
@Bernler75 I've always wanted to be able to play the piano x) Have an old keyboard myself but never managed to really master anything, can't get both my hands to play different things at once.
I suspect she did both, but I guess we'll never know unless it's mentioned in a later sequel. Or in the film, although I doubt that will be very accurate :p
@LoonyLoo It's really, really hard... I were decent back in my days, but ever since I sold it like 7 or 8 years ago, I slowly forgot how to play, and by that time, I thought it was funny to be able to play with like 150 different instruments and create the sounds - but lately I've really discovered how a wonderful intrument it is :P
@Bernler75 Aaah not quite like riding a bike then hehe. I'm very jealous of people with any kind of musical ability, there's something lovely about it. Some people are born with the aptitude for it I spose, and others (like you and I, apparently) have to really work for it... Then again, there are those kids who have to train for hours every day. Lol yes, creating an orchestra of sheep sounds would be more fun at least. I hope you get on well with it :D
I love the music for silent hill, though I can never choose a favourite... But the music is what really helped me love these games. It made them so much more memorable... it made them more than games that want to scare you. Gave them more meaning, more heart...
But that 's just me haha. Love this, love akira, love silent hill. Great video 8]
@wtfuxpls Very true :) It completely makes the atmosphere and communicates the emotions of the plot without being obtrusive. There are so few games that are able to do that. Can't wait for Downpour. Thanks for the comment.
@Wastedangelfreaklore Yeah, same here. I've been listening to this track since I bought the game when it first came out with that collector's edition soundtrack.
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains ambient songs (and upbeat songs) heavily inspired by the world of Silent Hill and Akira Yamaoka, so if you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page. Also, links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) . Safe travels, keep your flashlight on and your radio close...
@Wastedangelfreaklore I can't believe SH3 is that old now :O Haha. I concur. I keep going back to it even now and it conjures up a comforting sense of nostalgia.
Yeah I stopped playing it when I got to the sewer, wasn't scary at all rlly but I wasn't sure if that was coz I was desensitized to their brand of scares :P But yeah, 2 and 3 for definite are the highlights of the series IMO. Thanks alot :)
lol oh no your right, it wasnt scary at all, because when i was at the part your talking about i have my 7 year old cousin with me....and he started giggling and laughing when those....legless...whatever they were monsters started jumping out of the water at me, a seven year old laughing at this game......what had the world come to, hehe
LOL. Well he might be scared when he gets older and realises how screwed up all the main characters are haha, my case in point being James :P I still enjoy the atmosphere but yeah, not really getting the same sense of unease.
@LoonyLoo, I really enjoyed homecoming, but that's probably because it's the first silent hill game I have ever played. I want to play the earlier ones but unfortunatley when those games were still new I was too young to play them and now I don't have a ps2 to play them on. I'm almost tempted to get a ps2 just to play the old silent hills but I'm not sure it's worth it.
@allseeingeye93 I would totally get a PS2 for it :P They're really really worth it IMO. If you can get a PS2 for cheap then definitely do. Silent Hill 2 in particular is where most people think the Silent Hill series peaked... I also like 3 but the story doesn't make sense unless you've played #1. The first one might seem a bit creaky nowadays but still worth it for the nostalgia :P If you've got an Xbox you can get SH2 for that I think.
@LoonyLoo, thanks, I checked on Amazon and a new PS2 will be about $100; I'll get one as soon as I have the money to spare. Do you have any idea if Silent Hill 1 on the PS1 will work on a PS2?
true, it has the potential to not make sense unless you played 1, but um, heather does sorta spell out the whole story during a cutscene. So it's not necessary to play 1. ;)
The best part was when the piano started going really fast and the clip sequence went backwards. I don't know how you managed to stick with that, but you deserve a medal of honor.
Most of the SH3 soundtrack has the same kind of style running through it. A few that immediately come to mind are Rain of Brass Petals, Sickness Unto Foolish Death, Heads No.1, and Never Forgive Me Never Forget Me :P
nice job man, which game was that room with the mirror on that if you looked at it long enough it would start to change and you would die, i cant remember and its bothering me
Okay... that was truly gorgeous! I agree with BronzeFox! The part that beings at 2:05 and starts to play the game backwards... perfect! This was an amazing video and tribute to Heather/SH3 (which is my favorite in the series hands down!) Faved! 1 million stars!
Yknow I'm actually not entirely sure. I don't watch the cutscenes when I play through any more, but I'll keep my ears peeled next time. I'm tempted to say that it'd be one of the scenes following their arrival in the town of Silent Hill itself, since those sort of tracks kicked in then (e.g. Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me).
Gonna make a cover of this song when my keyboard arrives :3

Amazing video! I LOVE how it later goes from the end to the beginning of the game at 2:05.
Goes from the deaths and truth of the game to when Heather is figuring out what's going on.
It's really neat. ^^ Makes me wanna go play Silent Hill 3 all over again. <3
