I remember in 2004 when I was 14 I played with a friend at Wizards of the Coast. I specifically remember it was my asian friend, me, a black guy, and an emo kid sitting around the table having the time of our lives playing Magic the Gathering, no one was judging anyone, and it's still one of my favorite childhood memories. I'm glad I stumbled upon this game once again in college, because the older I get the more I realize that it's the stuff I loved when I was a kid that made me truly happy.

I must have missed the video that explains the most confusing part of playing magic: The Stack. Resolving the stack is sometimes VERY complex and complicated for even seasoned vets. Having an impartial 3rd party play the "ref" is helpful.

One booster pack contains 15 cards. The minimum for a normal deck is 60 cards, so you can't make a deck from that, sadly. However, you can play a different format called 'pack wars', which is where each player buys a booster, adds 3 lands of each color to it, shuffles and plays with their booster without even looking first.

If you want to make your first deck, start with an intro pack. Ask other players for help making improvements.

Duel Decks: Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas -20.00 bucks, two planeswalker inside 15.00 plus what the other cards are worth. Crazy idea to get some harder to find cards cheaper. I do believe all are legal. Intro decks are great for any player because the cards are set in stone plus a booster pack. Also don't shy away from the 2 player decks either 10.00 bucks for 2 boosters plus 20 random commons and uncommons. My last one I pulled a Jace. I think I should of did this video :P

There's one magic product I'd HIGHLY recommend to anybody who plays. It's the Ultra-Pro Deck box. It is a box to put your decks in and it has a color of mana on the outside so you know what color of mana it is. This is especially useful if you have more than one deck.

@thepyrowulf where you get your info lol? Magic has lasted longer and is still big. Yugioh is dying. Magic puts out like 2 sets a year (like 400 cards) Magic has way more and way larger tournys. The reason magic is bigger is because Yugioh was built after a show. and magic is a stand alone game. nothing can beat that.

@thepyrowulf there's nowhere near 500 cards on all the banlists of all magic formats (extended, legacy, vintage, standard, modern) combined. And the cards that are banned (primarily in modern and legacy) are typically gamebreakingly broken and were printed upwards of a decade ago, before the designers had a good grasp on balancing the game. Seldom few cards have been banned recently in any format besides modern, which is a relatively new format. Rarely are cards banned in standard.

Some were driven insane, a couple were set on fire. Pretty brutal stuff.The card game was only mentioned once or twice in the beginning.

Then the fans wanted to play the card game since it looked so fun. Now it's a major thing and the manga/anime is purely advertising.

so for everyone who wants to join magic, then I recommend it. I have been playing magic for about 6 months and have about 1,000 cards and two of my own decks that I created from scratch. It is deffenetly worth trying out. Oh and go to the pre releases and releases for sets. That is were you will learn lot, or go to FNM but warning, since FNM is filled with hardcore pros, you will get destroyed.

Let me explain my white soldiers,horses etc are made to attack really hard but my blue part of the deck is almost all about protecting my creatures (soldiers) so my deck is all about attacking and protecting (spells) if you know cards names unsommon,mana leak those type of cards dont let your opponent cast speels like creature cards and sorcerys...if you want more information message me :)

It's hilarious how magic players always try to chirp yugioh. Lmao so many things they say are untrue, lack of card options, cards banned all the time, etc, etc. Only thing that's true is that yugioh is complicated as heck, but that's what makes it great.
