Thanks for everyones comments. I learn more about the differences and similarities of the ca. Scrub Jay and the Florida Scrub jay from them. Blue is doing very well and now brings me stolen items on a daily basis as some token of affection.
Your right. He did land on my head. He spends a great deal of time doing that. I have cheap free editing software :( , but just got some better cameras. I have wanted to catch the perfect picture of him in flight. I did, finally. Its on his blog,which I cant give out in comments,(scrub jay antics DOT blogspot DOT com) but I did it by waiting for him to land on my head and had it in three minutes. Thanks for watching. With better software will come some better videos.
It is hilarious to me that when Blue flies away from the fridge he stops for a brief moment to alight on your head! At 1:49 you can tell by the audio that he flew toward you, landed on your head momentarily, and then continued his flight. The Florida scrub jays that my fiancé and I visit love to do this.
