  • I've always loved this tune!

  • @et7waage1 It's one of my favorites too!

  • What a lovely old tune, nicely done. and with the scratches, just like being in the parlour 1929, gathered around the Victrola on a Saturday eve, playing Canasta with Aunt Peg and Uncle Harry. Thanks.

And will we ever have music with such wonderful lyrics again? Or music that two people could actually dance to while holding on to eachother? After all, wasn't that what it was all about? To hold someone you cared for, while music like this played and you could forget the worlds troubles.

  • @baghend Thank you for those lovely comments and have a great holiday.

  • Hooray! It has the intro. I hate to hear old standards when they go right to the refrain & leave off the intro. Thumbs up.

  • Thanks for subscribing.

  • Great guitar part, sounds like Eddie Lang--is that him?

  • Yes it is Eddie Lang on guitar. I believe in this recording session OKEH used musicians from the Dorsey Brothers. The personnel isn't listed for this side in Brain Rust Jazz Discography.

  • Great song from "Our Modern Maidens" that starred Joan Crawford. The song also made the movie, and is still considred to be a well loved standard in the American pop song Repertoire.

  • Nice romantic stuff. Thanks!

  • You are very welcome. It's fun to share with other collectors and people who love the 1920's.

  • This song is great at any tempo. This is the first time I have heard the entire song.

    Great pics too!.

    Thanks a million for posting.
