I need help, please reply. I have turtlebeach x 11's and i plug a extension audio cable from the pink wire to my laptop mic. Lately my laptop mic and any mic i plug into it has been acting up. It makes like a robot sound when i talk. And when i plug in my audio extension cable, it wont record and audacity doesn't give the option for the microphone like it does to yours. Also when i plug it in it doesn't record my game chat volume and it makes a really loud noise in the xbox live game chat

NO. This tutorial was for use for Studio 10 and Audacity. Studio 10 is the program that comes with the Dazzle DVC 170. This product is popular for recording said-video game console. We don't care if Fraps can record game and voice. That's for PC. Studio 10 can't record the PC screen!

1 question!! When you are playing and recording voice and gameplay then by recording the voice you recored the tv sounds too !! So basically you have a commentary with ur voice and tv sounds and a gameplay with tv sounds too !! Then the background sound is doubled cuz u have the background sound while playing recorded with mic and your capture program !! How can I fix that !!

Yes you are able to EDIT your voice using Audacity. It's in the effects tab.

I have my "Voice volume" on my xbox all the way up (at 10) and I put my game volume (both music and sound effects) down as low as they can go without muting them. I hear my voice fine and I can hear my friends but my friends are low.

Do I need to change anything in the Audacity settings? I did a quick test with it, and I hear a soft buzzing noise in the background. There's also a slight echo. Is there any way to fix it? If not, I can live with it.

@seleniebeanie : Slight buzzing could be your mic. Depending on your mic quality, it can pick up unessasary bg noise. As for the echo, I haven't a clue.

I am using the default settings on audacity since there is no presets to begin with; every time you start Audacity it restores to it's default state unless you re-opened an old project.

I had a question. I recorded game footage for about 28 min. and did commentary with audacity. When I went to sync up the video with the commentary track from audacity i did it by having the charictor in game jump while I said jump about 5 or 6 times and it lined up perfectly. But I skipped ahead further into the video about 14 min. and they are out of sync by about 1.5 sec., but I know that it is lined up cause of my jump test at the start, do you know why it un synced itself later? thanks

Well Audacity is a free program, I guess it has its downsides. It's probably out of sync because when recording, the dazzle device takes up a lot of juice from your CPU. I suppose because of the stress on the CPU, it caused the audio in audacity to lag just a bit.

The program isn't perfect for long runs, but it's a start.
