To everyone who sees this, look at my videos. You'll find the REAL video there. This video is actually the 2nd part of a 2 part series. But it looks like he even trimmed it so that my title screen was removed!
This is MY video! I made this several years ago. You uploaded this without my permission, and you also had the nerve to put a link to your website?! This is blatant copyright infringement, and I intend to report this to YouTube. If you wanted to use my video, you could have simply asked, and I would have been fine with it as long as you gave me credit in the description. I put a LOT of work into making this video, and to see someone use it as advertisement for their website is infuriating.
Can anyone tell me if this is really true? I mean can we have an electric system that does not need to be supplied by us and it can supply itself? If that's true, then we won't need to spend money on electricity anymore.
@MrCerebro11 I use one spoon of salt for 12 ounces of water. You should be able to taste a strong taste of salt in the water you use. The only thing you have to worry about is there not being enough salt in the water. Sea water would be okay but just use table salt and water
I have decided to build my own salt water capacitors. This might be a dumb question lol, but what is the ratio of salt to water you use? I live on the beach in FL , can I use normal ocean salt water also?
I'm 17 and I've no experience whatsoever of electronics/building stuff. If I buy the parts for this, and build it, will it power my house and save my parents money, or is it bullshit?
@CoN0R115 No it won't it's a simple small tesla coil. Basically it would great some power that would power one, maybe two lightbulbs. It would not power your house.
Note: When the individual did this video, he stated microfarad but his unit of measurement was millifarad (mfd). This is where unit of measurement is crucial. Electronics Engineering using engineering notation and not scientific notation (example: 21uF means 21 x 10^-6). The voltage rating is doubled because Kirchhoffs law states when voltage is in series, it will increase or decrease. When capacitance is in series you have treat it like resistors in parallel. Use the summation formula
Having a Capacitor in Parallel with an Inductor (which is what the coils are in a transformer) is considered to be a tank circuit. They will both cancel each other out. Inductor current lags your voltage by 90 degrees while Capacitor current leads your voltage by 90 degrees, thus cancelling each other out.
In order find out what the Xc of each capacitor in a AC circuit is determined by the following formula Xc = 1/2pifc. Where pi equals 3.14285714, f is your frequency measured in Hertz, and C is capacitance. So if you have a 2uF capacitor in 10Hz circuit, your X of c would be 7.95k Ohm's. If you want to find you Lc (inductive reactance) use the following formula Lc = 2pifL. where L is your inductance.
Be advised, when hooking up to capacitors in series, you can find out what the Xc total or capacitive reactance by using the following formula (1/Xc1 + 1/Xc2 + .... 1/Xcn)/1. The formula is the reciprocal of the summation of the reciprocals. The reason for this is capacitors act as resistors in parallel if they are hooked up in series. If the capacitors are hooked up in parallel, then you just add the Xc totals of each as Xc1 + Xc2 + .....Xcn. Capacitors current leads your voltage by 90 deg
@GlyndwrArnold. The higher the capacitance, the higher your charge is going to be across the plates. The following formula determines the total capacitance of a capacitor: C = Aer (8.85 x 10^12F/M)/d. The total energy stored in a capacitor is W = 1/2CV^2. The Dialeletric constant (er) is Er = E / E0 which is relative permttivity.
In your opinion, could i use the following for a transformer.."9500 VOLT PRO SERIES NEON TRANSFORMER
IDEAL FOR LOWGLOW / STREETGLOW AND MANY OTHERS. INPUT = 12-15 VOLD DC @ 5 AMPS MAX. OUTPUT VOLTAGE IS 9500 VOLTS OUTPUT AMPERAGE IS 30 mA. FUSE IS 8 AMP MAX"
@MrCrazylab, the ignitor coil of this type are not isolated , share one side of the LV primary with HV secondary, in this case neutral is used for one side of the LV, HV winding and the primary for tesla coil.
yes it is dangerous in many ways.
my preferred method these days, using chopper circuit , an oscillator with a flyback transformer much more controllable for small setups, however for large setups you can't beat a few neon sign transformers.
Fail,The schematic at the beginning of the video is not correct, because is the beginning or the end of the primary coil to the capacitor never returned to the Head of the 120VAC N!
the hi volt coil is neutral grounded, one side of the primary and the secondary coil tied to earth which is also neutral being that neutral is earth bonded.. if you'd cared to look at the earth symbol used to denote earth and look at the diagram its pretty easy to understand. having built one based on this circuit back in 1980's i know it works
he also mentioned this layout in da video. K
it is common to see diagrams laid out like this from the olden days.
@redneckhillbillyjon yes but you need two ends of the high voltage transformer to load the hv cap!
when you turn on you transformer the TC cant work! the one end of the cap goes not to 120V N! In addition, grounding is not with N but with PE! when they grounded their SGTC with N then this is dangerous!
Still didn't get it? It's a "Back to the future" reference. I must be getting old. It was just my way of saying this stuff is a little confusing to me.
Aw, to bad. I can't believe someone who watched this vid didn't see Back to the future. You should watch that movie, it's very funny. He says jigawatts though, lmao.
