the tach signal is off by a 1/3 the car is really reving to 7000 rpm . if this a auto/manual swap then engine is good for 6000 rpm. the stock auto cams dont make power pass 6000rpm. chang the tach output signal form the megasquirt and it will read right. if i am wrong about this , just connect the labtop and show the singal coming out on the screen. with all that said great job making it work.
nice sounding j but reving to 9k on a stock motor, naw but if u have engine work i dont see y not, my j30a4 in my civic revs to 8.5k but i have tons of engine work done, nd it wasnt cheap
whose to say the ecu isnt programmed to remove or raise rev limit. Maybe he has custom cams and better valve springs and maybe head work balanced forged crank . I hate people that comment and have no idea. You can spin that thing to 11rpm if you know what needs done. the c-series v6 vtec was high rpm it came in the NSX. :)
@patontree what does cable throttle have to do with anything at all? your just being ignorant. The motor will spin to whatever rpm you set the ecu at.
megasquirt is a standalone engine management system that is used as the control unit for the the motor.
the guy that built this car also bought and put together the standalone to run this engine. he also tuned the car himself on open software which takes alot of skill to creat a map from scratch and get it running well.
sorry by i know why it went to 9000 cuz mine does too but its really 6000

I think you need to clarify the 9K RPM part. Redline on any cable theottle J doesn't exceed 7K and that's being generous.
