Are these guys originally from Detroit or Cleveland or somewhere similar where the bands have some real grit in their guts and an excellent sense of humor? One of the guys is currently on a kids show called Yo Gabba. He draws a picture every day with a marker and tells a little story. My 2 year old loves the show. I love the show and Devo too.
@japinvt they are from Akron and Kent Ohio. A few of them were attending Kent State Uni when the infamous shootings on May 4 1970 occured. They also covered the song "Ohio" written by Neil Young about the event.
@MrFukthishit I have been to Oberlin College in Ohio. I have a good friend who went there for some big time music program at the school. Nice school and town. Took days to drive there from South Jersey. Akron was a big car factory town, right. I love the way these guys just blast through Sloppy. Mongoloid is so inappropriate but really very funny even today. They don't seem old enough for that Kent State stuff but looks do deceive.
@japinvt the gentleman you refer to is Mark Mothersbaugh. The members of Devo were all born around 1950. Check out Mark's bio on Wikipedia. When I first saw a Rugrats show I immediately thought of Devo as one of the riffs sounded like a Devo song, but backwards!!!
You have to listen to shrivel up on some good mushrooms , i have , enjoy !!!!!!!

@tbx You're right. Gerry Casale was friends with two of the students killed in the Kent State shootings.
