How-To Download, Install and Beginner Basics of 7-zip File Archiver

I have the same problem as all of them, I want to open my minecraft.jar file but the 7-zip option is not there, and even when i browse i cannot find it.

Used both. Both are good. Both will unzip .zip and .rar files good. I prefer 7zip b/c it is 100% free.

I downloaded this before. I save it to my desktop and the icon comes out blurry.

Double-click the icon to install it, like in the video. Then delete the file you downloaded after the install.

What are the file types? ".zip" and ".rar" are the most popular but I am assuming it is something more exotic.

Weird. Not a week goes by that I don't extract at least 1 .rar file with 7-zip. Did you install the right version for your OS? Also can you extract anything? I extract .rar files by RIGHT-clicking on the file and going into the 7-zip menu that shows up in the popup. I choose to extract it here. I show you this in the video.

With the 7-zip file manager open

- Go to Tools, then Options. A popup will appear and you will immediately see the contents of the System tab.

- Associate ALL of the files you see with 7-zip. Then click the, Plugins tab, then the Options button.

- Check Integrate 7-Zip to shell context menu and Cascaded context menu

- Restart your computer

Now you will be able to RIGHT-click files and unRAR and unZIP them using the 7-zip menu.

Correct me if im wrong. I think there is no really difference between 32 bit or 64 bit they only difference is 64 bit can recognize more than 3 gigz of ram

You need administrator access to install or uninstall most software programs. Once you are logged into an account with full administrator rights then you can follow the tutorial on my channel named, How-To Uninstall Software Programs in Windows Vista to uninstall 7-zip or anything else.

I assume the other files are named something like, "*******_CD_2.nrg.002", "*******_CD_2.nrg.003", etc. If that is the case then they can easily be combined the same as other files.

Highlight 2 or more files with your mouse. Then RIGHT-click any of those files. A small pop-up menu will appear. Go to the 7-zip option. Then choose, "Add to Archive".
