Try comparing your Philips to any pair of Sonys in the same price range, but instead hooked up to a nice receiver or amplifier, and you will notice how much nicer the Sony's actually sound when powered properly. And blowing the speakers has to do with misuse or abuse or the headphones, not shitty craftsmanship ... thats your fault.
