@t3ktiK4l right click on the panel select properties and choose auto hide or show hide buttons (it looks better if you uncheck the arrows on the buttons). Click the buttons to hide the panel.
Now comes the easy part. Remove any main menu on all of the panels. Hit Alt+F1 to pop up the the menu where ever the mouse is on the screen.
The menu will only pop-up if you don't have one on the panels though. If you do, you will open the panel menu with Alt+F1.
Hey, how do you enable the floating main menu on demand? Gives the desktop a nice clean look.

Its not a right click its ALT+F1. I think its in the videos at the beginning of the series.

Groovy. I prefer AWN over Cairo-Dock, even though I like the features of Cairo-Dock better. AWN just seams more stable.
