  • As a reservist, during medical tech school, the pay is out of this world. 1500 as an E4 + 2080 for BAH + 1500 for per diem x 12months = 60,960 take home. Sure it's not millions of dollars but it beats the heck out of working as a cook fry. Plus I am proud of the AF uniform

  • I was going into the Air Force, but my recruiter screwed me over.

  • Sir, I do not think you have paid much attention to what the couple have said in the video,,, How much is food a week? Medicare? How about rent? That is all paid for in the Military. You can get extra pay for each child you have too.. Plus you serve Our country, you stay fit, get schooling, and get the $1,200 at the end. It is tough sometimes, but isn't any job? Everything in life is GIVE and take. Great video! Semper Fi Marines, God speed Airmen!

  • My uncle retired as a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force. The rest of my family is Coast Guard.

  • can you stay in any branch of the military for the rest of your life?

  • @darionwilliam No, you gotta retire at some point. And with the budget cuts it'll be hard staying in til retirement.

  • BLASIAN ty sir i appreciate it so much i just got a lot of information from watching this video im going to join the military and im picking army i wanna get deployed in september

  • thanks for the postitve info. i will soon be a marine corps poolee. everyone on here disrespecting the military has no honor or respect. thanks

  • @campbellbinns I got plenty of honor and respect, just none for people that wanna fight bankers wars. I got my own wars to deal with right here.

  • I think one thing many naysayers miss is that there are much less expenses on an instillation. You're not paying $650 for a terrible apartment. $1000/month would be just fine for young, single males to save up. Another thing is that most people who are upset seem to be so about the fact they didn't get all the little benefits they saw on TV. You're base didn't have golf and you couldn't put your Montgomery towards your kid b/c you only did 4 years and she'll go to college in 2032.

  • Has anyone every told you you look like Bruce Willis :)

  • I hate dumbasses who come on and bash the military, they just don't have the balls to get out and do it. Im getting my contract straight witht the USMC, Oorah.

  • i would just like to say that i come from a home that makexs enough money to live but not enough to have what most people expect. the military is a security. when a person tries to start up on their own the world seems huge! with the military there is always someone there whether you see them or not they are. and oh btw Air Force is the way to go!

  • how long would it take for me to make 95k ? How many years or rank? thanks!

  • I'm enlisting in the airforce soon and I'm taking my asvab next week.

  • do you get out of boot camp as airman or first class?

  • don't let other people brainwash yourself, follow your own intuïtion

  • sir, i have a question, why do many people hate joining there own country army, and i'm going to join the air force as soon as my IGCSE's are over

  • sir, i have a question, why do many people hate joining there own country army ?

  • Airforce? Brothar shit is different in the combat forces.

  • The american empire is going to copalse soon and you will have a hard time finding a job in the free market

  • Why the dislikes?

  • Since you talking so much about what you experienced why would you encourage people to experience that ? come on

  • if i join will i be able to go to collage before during or after enlistment

  • @MJT9050

I'm at 8 years (plan on doing 25 years) and there are options beforehand such as JROTC. Once in it becomes difficult but not impossible. The military is a full time job/career so spending your free time and making classes between deployments, weird hours, and business trips can be difficult...not impossible. I'd recommend learning your job, and learn it well but also start school early in your career. Message for more info if you like.

  • @lozdamo you have options if you choose to use them.

  • well actually i make about 1,300 on every 1st and 15th.

  • hello there i wanted to join the military but i dont think my parents would let what should i do ?

  • looking at the comments above i just wonder if people who dont care about the military and are here to just troll the video why even look?

  • @blasian67 ... WHY? for sake of being in the military??? There is nothing wrong with defending your country and dying for it. BUT its TOTALLY WRONG when u invade other countries with the excuse of Weapons of Mass Destruction which could never be found. In such a case, ofcourse FUCK THE MILITARY and the GOVERNMENT who uses army as puppets for political GREED!

  • Signed up a couple months ago for Army 25b IT analyst/operator. Leaving late April 2012.

  • Rofl Idiot said you make more money at Mc Donalds as a fry cook... No.... Mc Donalds doesn't pay shit... Maybe 600$ a month if your fucking lucky... Every one I know that works there makes like 100-150$ a week

  • @idc228 You can work your way up to manager they get about $30-35 per hour in Australia. Get a job working in the mines if you want money

  • everything this guy is saying is true, but he's omitting all the shitty parts. like how much it sucks!!! and all the branches are different. the air force just so happens to be the easiest branch there is.

  • @Arbaksh whats the shitty parts if u r doing good in ur current situation then thats great the military is not for everyone. but for us it's been great and u do have ups and downs for us it's been more UPS... steve has a great retirement and we have all the benefits like medical dental and yes free prescriptions for our meds. it might have SUCKED for you but we know hundreds of military members who would disagree with you.they arealot better off retiring from the military. easiest.... maybe..

  • Thank you very much for the information sir! People should make more videos like this to inform young people of benefits and such!

  • @aceshigh8881 and you believe when your in a war your gonna be a in a big green field with flowers all around. GROW UP they are gearing them up for war, they arnt their baby sitters

  • @aceshigh8881 and you believe when your in a war your gonna be a in a big green field with flowers all around. GROW UP they are gearing them up for war, they arnt theyre baby sitters

  • did u kill lots of people? -good on ya mate -its good ur encouraging others to go off and get paid to murder human beings

  • @lozdamo your a dumb ass

  • @blasian67 sir, i have a question, why do many people hate joining there own country army?

  • @blasian67 not really, why do you think that ?

  • @lozdamo Liberal

  • @lozdamo There is a big difference between murder and killing. Yes, people are killed. War started when two people had a difference and one realized that they could pick up a rock and throw it. Should there be peace? Yes. Will there be universal peace? NO. Sometimes people just do not think alike.

  • @lozdamo Yeah, but most of us would kick your ass for free. On the house ;)

  • @lozdamo

It's no surprise that someone as dumb as you is Australian.

Mind you, from personal experience I've found Australians to be the most ignorant, judgement and simply annoying.

    Aren't I a hypocrite?

  • @lozdamo You can't make people feel guilty about something they are being rewarded for. Most troops don't really give a shit about why we're fighting. Materialistic gains is the number 1 priority in everyone's mind, it's why a lot of troops love deployments. It's not because they're dying to fight for freedom. They want the tax free paycheck. Basically, you gotta bunch of mercenaries pretending to be heroes. Goddamn people are stupid.

  • @lozdamo Your fucking stupid, If your an american which i think you are. He fought for YOUR life un grateful fuck

  • @lozdamo ur fucking stupid this guy is explainnig to others what its like as a career some people want to do something for there country instead of being a pussy like you your not killing human beings your killing enemies to there country .... if you were a german citizen would you want hitler pushing you around or would you want somebody to help you so go fuck yoursellf and BLASIAN67 thank you for your service !!!!

  • hahaha people the military will do what they want when they want and how they want with you when you sign that contract so make sure everything your recruiter said youd have on paper cause if it isnt too bad......lol it isnt how you see it on the internet or videos train hard really hard make everything that you do hurts like no other cause every bit of energy that you have gets drained than after you feel like you cant move you do it all over again so keep a good mind set on what you want

  • Ahhh..he did so good until that last part. He couldn't spell ASVAB. Oh well, Army Ranger here I come

  • $1,200 a month equates to $300 a week. You make more as a fry cook working full time at McDonald's.

Don't join the military to become rich.

  • @algol291 good luck working as a fry cook support your spouse and 3 kids and pay car note insurance child care medical dental and medicine cost oh and house note on your fry cook pay. do u have a retirement that you don't have to pay into and the GI bill for college

    fry cook, I think NOT

  • @blasian67 great point

  • @blasian67 Word to the mother fuckin' streets yo. In A-School/Deployment I banked all $1300 of my monthly pay, no Med. bills, no rent, no food expenses besides what I wanted extra.

  • @algol291 your comment wasn't thought out much.. military pays most of the things you need to live.. if you live on base you have dorm style living for free.. you will most likely share a room and have everything paid for you.. rent, healthcare, utilities.. your 1200$ a month goes to maybe a car rental depending on if you are allowed to have a car.. or internet service.. your uniforms are a big cost but you also get a yearly uniform budget to help pay for the uniforms.. goodluck with mcy d's

  • @algol291 1200? dude i get payed about 1800 after taxes, food, housing, medicare, retirement im pretty sure i make more than any one working at mc donalds

  • they take like 300 dollars out of your paycheck for the meal card.

  • @algol291 i rather do somthing for the fun of it and the enjoyment not the pay....

  • @algol291 part time i make more as a frycook at mcdonalds

  • @algol291 and blasian67

glad I didn't join right after high school ..went to college ..got a degree worth getting ...

now I make 95k ..they put in 20 years and get a pension and still won't come close to what I make ..so ha

  • @algol291 i am a crew member we can only make 260 a week working all the time dumbass

  • @algol291 wdf 1,200 im navy and even the e-1s make 1.400 not including housing or food sea pay if ur on a sub u can make 3 to 4 times the base pay and you don't have to pay for anything

  • @algol291 Fry-cooks don't get to blow shit up and yell "FUCK-YOU, YOU DIRTY DUNE-COON" at the top of their lungs while on the clock. Need I say more?

  • @algol291 were you listening? 300 is what goes into the bank. not many people these days get to put that much in the bank after they pay their bills. In the military most of your bills are taken care of.

  • @algol291 1,200a month? haha U got fucked. Im an e-3 and I get more than that. And does mcdonalds give benefits??

  • thanks very good vod, answered alot of my questions, my father was in the air force too, im thinking of the Army, not sure no one branch of service is any better then the other they all serve their country and do it proudly...... thanks again

  • Get payed on the last of the month and the 14th Hooray Navy Federal

  • hoooroooo

  • Now n than u just want 2 buy ur self a Nice T-Bone Steak grill it up. mite cost $20 it cuts in 2 ur pay but it's worth it

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin right here.

  • So how do we get the exact career field we want? Please tell me I must know because I want to be a loadmaster on a C-17!!!

  • how do you get into the military field you want in the Marine Corps?

  • @blasian67 .. can we have a " Why the fuck we would want to join the military " version pls?

  • @sydneyboi4fun NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    we are for the MILITARY

  • @blasian67 I have a question

I good part of me wants to join the military, but recently I have watched a lot of videos with soldiers talking about the horrors of Iraq and basically the general mental toll of being in that environment. Also the whole situation with the military industrial complex, and overall corruption associated with it. With all that said in your experience what percentage of people do you know that were happy that they entered and it ended up being positive

    thanks.

  • @blasian67 love about the military is security of employment... yeah war is big business, always gonna be demand for suckers to kill other suckers.

  • @sydneyboi4fun If you dont want to join then thats reason enough. Why do you need a video jackass.

  • 300 hundred dollars a week is not enough, How the economy is now we need to make at least 800 to 1200 a week to pay for fuel bills home mortgages kids school's sick wife

  • @bajagreatwhitesharks good thing i don't have kids or a wife. and that i am not getting a house.

  • @bajagreatwhitesharks Well like he says basiclly all the money you earn is free money or extra cash. you really dont need to spend any unless you take on payments of a car loan or cell phone or whatever. Just save most of it while your in then add the signing bonus if you get one and you can be set for a while without worries

  • awesome thanks

  • Will the navy take u with a GED?

  • what does ASVAB stand for?

  • @DennisMr2100 Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

  • What about the oath to the constitution? Beyond the paycheck and bennies compliments of the American people... Does the oath mean anything or is it just another BS ritual and then follow orders like a GD robot? Does the military just blindly obey orders and do the evils they are told to do in order to make a good living? WTF? The military isn't protecting me from anything. They are protecting the interests of the corporations. Unlawful wars and 900+ bases are bankrupting America.

  • "The Constitution supposes, what the history of all governments demonstrates, that the executive is the branch of government most interested in war, and most prone to it. It has accordingly with studied care, vested the question of war in the legislature." -- James Madison (1751-1836), Father of the Constitution for the USA, 4th US President Source: in an April 2, 1798 letter to Thomas Jefferson. Restore America 2012 Ron Paul

  • what was with the face when you mentioned canada??

  • Please guys for all those joining the military. Do not piss your money away in beer fumes are waste it on the local mama son. See the sites go on the MWR tours that they have posted on the quarter deck. After my time in the Navy I came out with $3000 not alot to show for four years of your life.

  • I can't stress it enough these young guys need to save money while there in their chosen military branch. Believe me your going to need it, if you decide not to stay in the service.

  • I joined the U.S. Air Force in 1982 and retired in 2002. Had a heart attack at the 18 year mark due to high stress. Deemed 100% disabled after retirement. Hope you have a better career than me.

  • You're not going to get laid off because the Military is untouchable in the budget thanks to dumb ass Tea Party NeoCons in congress. Perpetual warfare for no reason

  • This is a great video

  • So tell me Steve, how is it right that who invade other people's countries for oil is ethical and those who fight back for their country are terrorists?

  • do you think the army is a good choice

  • Thanks this really helped its been my dream to join the army. My birthday is on 9/11 And I just really want to stand up for my country. So far I have a GPA of 3.8 and still working hard

  • How would you spell ASVAB? I thought so

  • @blasian67 do you know about how the buddy system works..because ive been with my friend since we were about 5 and we both wanna join the army buddy system i dont think changes im actually planning on going to college and he may go into ROTC or not depending on what makes it easier do you know how they do that and if we eventually get moved into different fields.

  • @blasian67 What branch were you in? And were you enlisted or commissioned? I want to do AFROTC, spend 4 years in the military and then start a career in elementary education.

  • OMG, couldn't spell "ASVAB" ha ha! What about types of aggression? Almost everyone on some level knows that the occupations we have imposed on Iraq and Afghanistan are total corporate led missions. What if you decide that you don't want to engage in a specific attack? Can you opt out somehow?

  • @JIMINIK1 Yeah. Hand them your letter of resignation! That's it, nothing else that you can do!

  • OMG, couldn't spell "ASVAB" ha ha! Seriously though, what about types of aggression? Almost everyone on some level or another knows that the occupations we have imposed on Iraq and Afghanistan are total corporate led missions. What if you decide that you don't want to engage in a specific attack? Can you opt out somehow?

  • marine core all the way

  • @lilcarrotsticks wow. its corps.... not core.

  • Will you tell me your secret to getting the job you wanted, I took a sample ASVAB yesterday and scored a 78, I am studying my ass off as we speak to take the official one, I want a perfect score. Any advice ?

  • @Kennybear89 you are doing the right things to get a good score on the asvab. studying, and taking practice tests. let us know what the real score is and a 78 would qualify you for most career fields. the secret only works for the program for high school juniors and its where you select 5 career filods and they guarantee yo to get one of them. put the career field you want first and the 4 that the af isnt recruiting in. you will get your 1st choice. good luck on the asvab.

  • @blasian67 so if i am a foreigner and i wanted to join the army what should i do?

  • @blasian67 The ACTIVE military is the way to go. I was in the Army Guard and it sucked bad. Drill seemed so pointless in comparison to the Federal time I did. I wish I had gone Active. I talked to an active duty recruiter and they said I can get in. I'm taking it... Sorry bud but I'm going Army... Good video... Hopefully people will listen to you and get in on the ride... By the way... About half of HS graduates can't pass a GED test..and my ASVAB score was 92... Public School is a joke... ;-)

  • @Kennybear89

The sample test, and the real test are light years apart. While the sample test will give you a general idea of AFQT score, it does not give correct line scores. There is no perfect score on the asvabs, top score is a 99. I work for MEPS giving the asvabs

  • @Kennybear89 dont waste your time in the military unless you like making shitty wages, fighting for your country is over-rated now - former us army cavalry scout

  • @Kennybear89 Remember that your asvab score isn't a percent it's a percentile. Meaning that when i scored an 80 on my asvab it means i scored above 80 Percent of the people that are projected to take the ASVAB. Also the sample ASVAB is more difficult then the actual one. recruits generally score higher on the actual ASVAB compared to the Sample. I got a 62 on my sample ASVAB, yet scored an 80 on my actual asvab. I'm in the process of enlisting in the Marines! Semper Fi Oorah!

  • @KyleAndersonMusic i just got out of the marine corps. it totally sucked. good luck with that

  • For joining the army if u choose it as a career ur salary would be between 2000 to 3000 dollars ( I think) if u become a officer and it will go up by ur rank

  • A lot of positive things said here, what about fighting in an illegal war though?

    Thanks to you for sharing.

  • Army was great for me. It helped me get PTSD and it helps me to live with it.

  • actually there was a government shut down during my tour of Okinawa for 5 weeks. You do have to worry about the pay!

  • step 1: grow a pair of balls and go to the rss and ask questions

step 2: if you like it, sign on...if not, then go home and do whatever

step 3: have a nice day

  • @MrSipple1775 Thank you!

  • that is so stupid how u put ur life in danger after u sign in they'll send u not to be a hero but a bullet and u said the pay u $1200, a month ?Muammar Gaddafi use to pay $1000, a day to anyone fight for him ,

  • @MrNathengreen well lets take a look at that Libya Military Strength Active Military: 119,000 Active Reserve: 195,000 Defense Budget: $1,500,000,000 meaning that gadaffi could afford that United States of America Military Strength Active Military: 1,477,896 Active Reserve: 1,458,500 Defense Budget: $692,000,000,000 the US in proportion cant afford that with all the equipment we buy thats all we can afford to pay
  • @MrNathengreen If one wants to join the military for pay and benefits, theyre in the wrong profession. You join to serve your country, to better yourself and your brothers/sisters in arms. Despite that, when you have almost no bills to pay, and put a price on what you do for your country, the pay and benefits are very competitive. Not to mention the more you strive for excellence and refuse to be content with the work you've done, you move up through the ranks.

  • The Army is the only branch that will give a MOS guarantee and generally if you get an MOS change it will be from your choice to 11B which is Infantry. They wont take an Infantry soldier and make him a cook because you got guys jumping at the chance to get a non-combat arms MOS. Im 32 and I leave for Basic Combat Training/Infantry AIT the 30th of October 2011. Other branches make you pick your top 3 choices from what I have heard. My advice is find a good recruiter like I did.

  • So whats the tip for getting the mos you want?

  • all of this has changed

  • thank you soo much yu really made my mind on going into the air force and i see all these bad videos about air force and military in general... you seem like a no bs kind of guy, hank you and cant wait for more vids.

  • ill have my AA degree in about 4 months and then i want to sign up on the army ranger contract. do u think having my degree will give me an upper hand in any way for getting that?

  • @jamnin94 Yes, but the guys will respect you more if you do things the hard way, regardless.

  • i would do anything to join the military

but for one physical reason i am unable to

and i dont care if they screw me etc

i just want to serve my country seriously

  • Awesome Video!! Thanks!!

  • what is the best branch to join?

  • @MrFukbitchesgetmoney Well in my opinion bro I wouldn't bother asking anyone that. It is 100% up to you. (obviously) , but the reason I say that is there are way to many different jobs that go with it to let someone decide for you. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH and you will def. find something that catches your eye. I am going going to join army. airborne.

  • $1,200 a month isn't good

  • @MoldytoasterMedia most the time they dont have to pay for housing, or utilities or medical cost or anything like that. Theres a meal card as stated in the video so 1200 after all that is freaking good.

  • @MoldytoasterMedia think about it, house, food, clothes allowances ( allowances -money for those specific things, but if you don't use it, you keep it.) no med cost, no utility cost, ect. exactly what he said in the vid, you paycheck basically goes in your pocket. sure if you made 1200 a month and still had to pay for medical, dental, utilities, mortgage, ect you wouldn't have much left over. it is decent.

  • @MoldytoasterMedia 1,200 is good money when you don't have to pay water, electric, rent or gas. You only pay who things like cable and cell phone bill. Speaking from experience.

  • @MoldytoasterMedia

    Thats recruit pay.

  • you were a bit of an asshole on the canada comment

  • sorry i meant AFSVAB ha ha

  • can you retake the ASVAB?

  • So what is the trick to getting in to the career field that you want to be in in the Air Force?

  • if i become a taker in the marines , will i be forced to do infantry missions that are not my ,mos

    ...............

  • It is not within my principles to commit murder in the name of justice, for money or anything else.

It should also be noted that soldiers serving abroad in recent months have not received their pay, they have been told they are non essential personnel.

  • how can i get the career i want get from the 5 choices i have

  • Alot of my friends NEVER got paychecks.. Alot of them NEVER got paid and never got to see their money.. good luck!

  • @blasian67: My apologies, my comment was to be directed at megaterra69. BTW thank you for your service. Hooah! or whatever you AF guys say, lol. We're all one big family right?

  • @WhoWouldWantThisName If we are all one big family them what is the purpose of the Military beyond fighting rich mens wars & making them richer whilst the rest of the family lives off the scraps?

Look at the mess the world is in & try evaluating your personal & collective responsibility for it.

  • @blasian67: I strongly disagree with your comment about recruits typically being "less educated/ignorant". I suppose it depends a bit from MOS to MOS but I certainly served and trained with a very bright and well educated group on average. Many already college educated prior to enlisting. Granted I enlisted into Army Aviation which is a more technical field, but even those I went through Basic Combat Training with were representing their families and hometowns well. I was proud of all of them.

  • 1200 a month? lol thats minimum wage where i am

  • Marshal Law Enforcement is a good branch to consider with the UN. Atleast by TITLE:

However, it could fall onto your backyard while you're away Enforcing it on other countries.

  • im flat footed and i have asma does that mean anything

  • Quick question do u keep on getting paid when your out of the marines? and how about insurance, do you still have it when your out of the military?

  • hello sir i really found ur video to be helpful quick question can i still be an officer with an associates degree? or does it have to be a ba degree? thank you im turning 18 in a month and i was looking forward in joining the military thank you for all your help god bless!

  • @Sekter12 I know in the air force it takes a 4 year degree to apply for a commission (to be an officer). you should check with the recruiter but i do think all services do require a 4 year degree. now, that said dont under estimate enlisting and then persueing a degree while you are in the service. the service pays for your tuition with tuition assistance (TA), then if you decide not to re-enlist, you have the GI bill, which pays your tuition and books then gives you a $1400 allowance.let me kno

  • Canada pssp, LOl

  • your videos are awesome man I leave this month, AUGUST 30 2011! I cant wait check out my video you might be able to answer some questions! thanks again!

  • @RJayy3C03 thanks for serving and though it wont be easy, it will be rewarding. let me know how it goes.

  • "Canada...psssh"

  • As years past I've always wanted be in some branch of military, I don't know what branch I am stuck between the national guard, the united states marine core or the us army which branch of military should I choose

  • @nerfguns4life of course i am partial to the air force but of the choices you gave me. i would say marines, although i would say you can't go wrong being in the military no matter the branch. i say make your best decision and get going. thanks for serving

  • what was the trick sounded interesting im looking for amedical field related work in the marines anyone??

  • @chile9292 check with the recruiter. see how they select your career field then find out which ones are not available. the put the career field you want first, the put the unavailable ones next. if they will let you. take care and let me know

  • Nothing wrong with joining the military, serve your country! I think it should be required that all serve at least 3yrs. between the ages of 18 thru 26.

  • @bamnibaum fuck that I'm not shooting anybody. I personally don't like my fellow country that much to kill or die for them. Most the people I meet are ignorant and cruel. Even the evil doers seem to have higher moral standards than today's youth/mass ignorant populace. I have absolute respect for those serving, but I certainly have no interest in the military.

  • @megaterra69 luckily you live in one of the few countries that give you that choice. the young people i have met in the military are smarter, more honorable, and got all of their stuff in one sock than do most young people.

  • @blasian67 I wouldn't agree with smarter, it's usually the less educated/ignorant that end up joining. Not saying there is anything wrong with joining, but most book-smart people can avoid the whole military thing, military people tend to have more confidence which in some occupations is more important than book-smarts I suppose. People's lives are more structured when they join the army which is why they probably appear to have their stuff in one "sock". They are more honorable though, yes.

  • @bamnibaum well, fortunately we don't need to do that as we have an abundance of brave young people who are willing to serve our great country. actually a all volunteer military makes us more free. being required to do anything takes away from our freedoms that our military fights to protect. i like the all volunteer military as it makes our government more responsible to the military by needing to attract volunteers with higher wages and good benefits.

  • @blasian67 1487 a paycheck? lol! Maybe on deployment. After working in a factory for one year I'm making more money a month than I did after 4 years in the military.

  • @TwistedRaven187 well my son is not deployed and his bring home after taxes is $1389.58 twice a month. he's been in for 3 yrs. so that's pretty good for him. the military is not for everyone and it takes a special someone to enlist and fight for this wonderful country . thank u for ur 4 yrs of service. thanks again for ur comment and good luck to u.
