  • great guy, simple stuff that works

  • I use tons of head voice guys! Check out my videos!

  • Finally! Now I got it! Thanks dude! For a man its confusing to get how to do head voice because of the timbre. When I wanted to sing high notes I imagined how my timbre would be but that was holding me back because head voice has a different timbre which we have to get used to!

  • Brett Manning = Mr. Octopus + Wolverine + Justin Bieber

  • God Bless you Guys!!!!! you really help me a lot :D

  • I also just cried

  • MOST DEFF THE CHUCK NORRIS OF VOCALIZATION RECOGNITion

  • 40 yr old jb

  • absolutely beautiful

  • He is soo damn good!!!

I could listen to him forever in minute 3:40

  • Its really hard moving out of registers when singing. Like singing rolling in the deep by Adele. For a girl its probably easy but for a guy your constantly going from chest to mix or head voice.

  • I like your video and it is very educational. I love your video and it is educational. I notice that southern soul, fonk and country seems to be more comfortable for me. like singing songs by carla thomas, even etta james, even what I consider country soul (patsy clien) I got this rasp and little shake in my head voice, which people tell people sounds mostly soul and fonk, I'm comfortable singing with that slow soul, drag, do you have any tips on training a voice like mine?

  • owned

  • My head voice sounds kinda weak.

I want to make it more purer/stronger.

    Can someone help me :)

  • @smartaj09 Are you talking about like Metal singers? Like (not sure what examples you'd be familiar with) Steelheart's Miljenko Matijevic, James Durbin, or Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant?

  • Holy shit, at the end, he sounded like Thom Yorke.

  • OMG He sounded so great at the end! I need to sound feminine!

  • I like his hair!!!!

  • 3:44 , just gave me goosebumps :))

  • Just died a little bit inside when he sang at the end...

  • So basically head voice is a falsetto with more resonance??

  • That man is the greatest

  • Thats pure head voice.

No one uses those in singing because there is a change of tone when u switch from chest to head.

so ppl mix head with chest to make it sound natural

  • Technically, this guy isn't wrong. He's right about his headvoice thing. But what you guys want is probably not this kind of head voice. Even though he is using headvoice, that's still falsetto. There is falsetto with and without headvoice. What he did in that vid is example of falsetto based on headvoice and just simple falsetto.

  • 3:43 anyone think this sounds like Muse?

  • @HardCoreTVSubscribe that's exactly what i thought!

  • So basically the head voice is in the false etto but we have to bring the cords in???

  • Nice look

  • Fuck I want this dudes voice, this isn't so easy for me. I'm so flat and not as able to use the head voice without cracking! LOL.

  • i dont know if it's a the grey-ing beard or the leather jacket that makes me want to trust him... always liked you bret, always did.

  • Hey....................Andrea Bocelli wears a similar jacket singing in one of his concerts in Italy. Cool look.

  • nice dude......

  • nice outfit

  • Brett looks Like Sean Connery lol

  • sleepy??

  • been doing the program for a while. when i get up to E passed male high C my voice (i guess the only way to describe it is) drops out. i can still feel my air flow slightly but no pitch. it kinda sounds like when someone loses there voice but not raspy at all. Is this compression problems or just a limit to my range? also whistle is impossible for me. the end tune at this video i can't sing alone to it. voice drops out but its not airy.

  • wow VERY impressive falsetto usually guys cant do that =O

  • @pencilluna10 its head voice not falsetto

  • What I don't understand is that how do you hit those high notes, at the end, in your head voice without raising your larynx? I've been trying to sing with neutral larynx but all that is happening is when I get to my higher range, I either have to flip into falsetto, or close to go to head!!! Even the top range of my head requires that I bring my larynx up....someone help meh!

  • @iTzJimBoi I have that same problem! And I'm a girl. I've been watching a couple of SS videos on how to keep the larynx neutrall, and I've tried it for myself, and it isn't working well. I wanna learn how!!! I wish I could do a one on one time with one of the coaches....but alas I have no money to do so:(

  • @iTzJimBoi "To keep a neutral larynx" does not mean that the larynx can't move at all, it means that the larynx can't move too high or too low. It wouldn't be natural for the larynx to just stay in the same position all the time. And it just takes practice to smooth out the bridges and not flip into falsetto. I struggle with that as well, (I've been singing for about six months), however I'm a lot better than I was when I first started out. Good luck!

  • @iTzJimBoi I can't see his larynx at the end.

  • @dovalenano2 Some people are born with a less bulging Larynx...I hate that. I can never tell if they've raised it, or it's just nonexistent.

  • Am I soprano? I get really high notes in head voice, falsetto and I can get the first whistle note and it's not hard (I'm a 14 year old guy)

  • @gaara125able guy's dont have soprano, its bass, baritone or tenor, if you can hit the same notes as pavarotti in your chest, i think, then your a tenor, but im not an expert im not sure, i dnt even know what i am

  • Is "head voice" and "singing on the breath" the same thing?

  • why sometimes my head voice breaks (literally) into a ugly distorted VOCAL FRY?

i am worried about that beacuse it took so much time to learn all this!

  • LOL....he scared me!

  • i'm a singing success tv subscriber and just want to come here to say thanks to this video and jesse's beginer hangup video.

A couple days ago when I rewatched jesse's video, i finally come to understand what he's talking about on how to approach my head voice, and in the video he also mention about ppl might pop into their whistle all of a sudden. After a couple days of practice, i was watching this video today, and i was able to slide up to a F6 following along with him. Really appreciated

  • i'm so into the song he sang in the ending

  • Whats the name of the song he sings at the end??

  • What the fuck is head voice? He doesn't explain what it is he just talks about it

  • @GuruPremierGangStarr Go to his video where he explains the difference between head voice and falsetto. Both are where you sing or talk in your upper (high) register where the voice resonates in the head. The difference between falsetto and head voice is to do with cord closure:)

  • can we sa midlife crisis with that very 80s looking leather jacket

  • that is one badass jacket

  • is it me or is he like the chuck norris of singing?

  • Wow Brett you sure have a magnificent head voice...I am soooo impressed!

  • dam he looks sketchy

  • I love these videos!!!

  • Ahh That little E in the beginning going La La La LAAAAAA is soo cute haha! :D

  • Wow, he sounds like a theramin. This guy is amazing.

  • genius!!..and your program is incredible!!

  • Awwwwesome stuff

  • FINALLY gave me a better understanding of the difference between head voice and falsetto. I always suspected it was something simple like cord closure but I have never seen it laid out so concisely. I've been trying to understand this for literally months. Thanks so much, Brett! :)

  • Brett is a Master.....XD

  • That song was beautiful. Why do women even bother singing? You're better than the lot of them!

  • epic ending!

  • <3 the beard, rockstar. ;)

  • Epic beard! Love it!

  • Lol...What's the show? "SONS OF ANARCHY" Is brett gonna be in it next season?!?!
