please can someone help me when you use your head voice does it feel like its exiting your mouth or does it feel its coming from your nose like you have closed your mouth off please reply
Finally! Now I got it! Thanks dude! For a man its confusing to get how to do head voice because of the timbre. When I wanted to sing high notes I imagined how my timbre would be but that was holding me back because head voice has a different timbre which we have to get used to!
Its really hard moving out of registers when singing. Like singing rolling in the deep by Adele. For a girl its probably easy but for a guy your constantly going from chest to mix or head voice.
I like your video and it is very educational. I love your video and it is educational. I notice that southern soul, fonk and country seems to be more comfortable for me. like singing songs by carla thomas, even etta james, even what I consider country soul (patsy clien) I got this rasp and little shake in my head voice, which people tell people sounds mostly soul and fonk, I'm comfortable singing with that slow soul, drag, do you have any tips on training a voice like mine?
@smartaj09 Are you talking about like Metal singers? Like (not sure what examples you'd be familiar with) Steelheart's Miljenko Matijevic, James Durbin, or Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant?
Technically, this guy isn't wrong. He's right about his headvoice thing. But what you guys want is probably not this kind of head voice. Even though he is using headvoice, that's still falsetto. There is falsetto with and without headvoice. What he did in that vid is example of falsetto based on headvoice and just simple falsetto.
been doing the program for a while. when i get up to E passed male high C my voice (i guess the only way to describe it is) drops out. i can still feel my air flow slightly but no pitch. it kinda sounds like when someone loses there voice but not raspy at all. Is this compression problems or just a limit to my range? also whistle is impossible for me. the end tune at this video i can't sing alone to it. voice drops out but its not airy.
What I don't understand is that how do you hit those high notes, at the end, in your head voice without raising your larynx? I've been trying to sing with neutral larynx but all that is happening is when I get to my higher range, I either have to flip into falsetto, or close to go to head!!! Even the top range of my head requires that I bring my larynx up....someone help meh!
@iTzJimBoi I have that same problem! And I'm a girl. I've been watching a couple of SS videos on how to keep the larynx neutrall, and I've tried it for myself, and it isn't working well. I wanna learn how!!! I wish I could do a one on one time with one of the coaches....but alas I have no money to do so:(
@iTzJimBoi "To keep a neutral larynx" does not mean that the larynx can't move at all, it means that the larynx can't move too high or too low. It wouldn't be natural for the larynx to just stay in the same position all the time. And it just takes practice to smooth out the bridges and not flip into falsetto. I struggle with that as well, (I've been singing for about six months), however I'm a lot better than I was when I first started out. Good luck!
@gaara125able guy's dont have soprano, its bass, baritone or tenor, if you can hit the same notes as pavarotti in your chest, i think, then your a tenor, but im not an expert im not sure, i dnt even know what i am
i'm a singing success tv subscriber and just want to come here to say thanks to this video and jesse's beginer hangup video.
A couple days ago when I rewatched jesse's video, i finally come to understand what he's talking about on how to approach my head voice, and in the video he also mention about ppl might pop into their whistle all of a sudden. After a couple days of practice, i was watching this video today, and i was able to slide up to a F6 following along with him. Really appreciated
@GuruPremierGangStarr Go to his video where he explains the difference between head voice and falsetto. Both are where you sing or talk in your upper (high) register where the voice resonates in the head. The difference between falsetto and head voice is to do with cord closure:)
FINALLY gave me a better understanding of the difference between head voice and falsetto. I always suspected it was something simple like cord closure but I have never seen it laid out so concisely. I've been trying to understand this for literally months. Thanks so much, Brett! :)

Thats pure head voice.
No one uses those in singing because there is a change of tone when u switch from chest to head.
so ppl mix head with chest to make it sound natural

@dovalenano2 Some people are born with a less bulging Larynx...I hate that. I can never tell if they've raised it, or it's just nonexistent.
