@TelecomXD360 Protoman is a good guy. He pretended to be a bad guy at first while secretly helping Mega Man but soon showed his true colors as a hero. In Mega Man 5 Wily tried framing him but the real Protoman has always been a good guy. He's actually based more on Racer X.

And no ignore ng warrior - that's a completely different continuity that has nothing to do with the original Mega Man series. The only thing they have in common is the names.

That is my most hated thing by far in Megaman 10.

You just have to learn the patterns. Also, you can step on the area that the blocks come out of, even when they're not there.

And, in case you didn't know already, its weakness is the R. Striker. Use that when it's inside the whole square, and use the triple blade to shoot underneath the level when he's outside of the square.

Mega Man

Good: three shots at once, small knockback

Bad: no sliding, no charge shots.

Proto Man

Good: charge shots, can slide, gets the Proto Jet at the start.

Bad: two shots at once, huge knockback, takes more damage.

I was stunned when i heard that u can play as Protoman but u have to buy him... That really ticked me off

I was hoping that once u play the game thru once, u would have the option to try beat it with Protoman (with slide and charge shot, but taking more damage from hits)

It makes sense to me. Rush and the slide were both introduced in MM3, and the charge shot in MM4. In other words, this game takes place somewhere between MM2 and MM3--which, in a lot of people's opinions, are the two best games in the whole series.

The game thing about playing as Proto Man is that you can charge up your Proto Buster (unlike the Mega Buster), you can slide by pressing Down + Jump, you can reflect or deflect projectiles while in mid-air (if a bullet hit your shield), and you start off with both Proto Coil and Proto Jet instead of just Rush Coil.

There are 3 bad things about playing as Proto Man:

1) You take more damage. Your defenses are weak.

2) The rate of firing your Buster is 2 instead of 3.

3) You can't shop.

here's probably the best explanation for why megaman x is a new series. the second megaman x game isnt called megaman x1- it's called megaman x-2. so by your explanation it goes from 10 to 12 to 13 to 14 to 15.. etc. also there's a character named zero in the series. It's like in math class you have X and Z as variables. my main argument is- they never use the words "megaman" to describe this X person except on the cover of the box: to show stupid kids that this game involves a guy who shoots.

Your point is completely false. Megaman X isn't Megaman 10, it's just Megaman X. It doesn't take place after 9 because if that were the case 9's story would segue into the storyline for Megaman X, and as someone who has beaten Megaman 9 it clearly doesn't. Besides if we are to start counting the Megaman X series in roman numerals then why are all the sequels still named with regular numbers? All of them are called X2, X3, etc. There are no XI or XII games in the series.

Then again many people mistakenly thought Rockman & Forte (Megaman & Bass) was Megaman 9, til Capcom came out and said otherwise.

This is a bad ass game. Great control, good fun factor. Modern Games could learn a thing or two about the fun and playability of an NES game.

Hopefully this is but the beginning of Modern 8 bit games.

In the game, aside fromt he sheild that works only when he jumps, he can charge his gun and slide (megaman has no extra powers, and is much like he was in mm2) plus protoman takes twice as much damage and gets thrown back twice as far when he gets hit. So, it's a whole different experience.
