  • Thanks for the clip. My wife just started learning guitar at age 51. I've been practicing this song on mandolin (the intro was hard to figure out for the mandolin) but it sounds cool.

  • This guy is awesome

  • On this weekend prior to the 4th of July, I find myself getting back to the truth of my beliefs. You Mr NASH, have been a beacon through my sixty plus years now. Thank you for always reminding all of us that love is the way out of all problems.

    With gratitude,

    Lynn

  • I tried and tried to play guitar but my skin is like butter on my fingertips so I have some difficulites with developing those tough finger pads.

  • @Timesearch I think the problem might be your guitar, not your fingers. A guitar properly set up, with the right set of strings (light gauge, preferably), makes a world of a difference. Perhaps the action is too high on your guitar, or the neck is rubbish, so you might want to check with your local music shop to see if they can fix it up for you (or you might want to buy a new guitar). Don't give up playing, just make sure you get the right tool for the job ;)

  • Graham, can retire when ever I want, need a good drummer, lets hit the road.

  • There is so much depth in drop D tuning.

  • Anyone who loves Joni Mitchell is a fan of mine :-D

  • @Longtack55 oeps... I don't like her... I don't like a song like Coyote, her contribution toCSN&Y Wembley (1974): Suite Judy Blue Eyes.. playing Woodstock on the piano (1969).. making strange sounds at the end of the song.. .Joni playin a kind of harp..etc.. etc..

  • @Longtack55 Joni is legendary ,,she broke new ground like no one before she also restructured guitar playing. One of the best ever.

  • and know we love yooouuuu

  • Thanks for this video and not also for the great music... x)

  • What a legend.

  • Thanks Graham. I remember it, well. I love to play my violin to that song. Thanks for your kindness and great music. You are fun to play with.

  • Hi, hey Mr. Graham Nash I always been a big fan, as a solo performer or with CSN, CSNY.

Saw you for the first time in 73 when you showed up as surprise guest in Neil Young first solo concert at San Diego.

I just wanted to let you know that I admire you as a singer/songwriter, man what a voice as a lead singer or your unparalleled harmonies, also your career as a photographer is awesome, and as an environmentalist. thanks very much for your inspiration

  • hes right stop arguing

  • Hi Graham...you're such a nice man inspite of giving us nice song and also teaching us to play guitar with your song. In fact this the first song I learned playing guitar and pick-up those good words of this song that leads me to a bright life with my children. Thanks pare!!!keep it up...

  • you sure sound tough

  • Graham has dropped the low "E" (6th) string down to "D". This gives the full sounding D chord when the low string is played.

This has consequences for other chords that might want to use the 6th string.

Notice e.g. how he plays a G-chord and pushes the 6th string at the 5th fret instead of a the 3rd fret. The root tone G is now located at the 5th fret.

  • After having posted my comment I noticed that this clip is an excerpt from a comprehensive video lesson.

I'm sure that the video lesson covers in-depth what my comment just barely touches upon.

  • Gram forgot the A chord which sound best as A6,

and in the chorus the progression D, Bm goes down to G and then A and back to D

  • After being played by Graham Nash thousand times......do you really think he forgot the chords ??? He doesn´t say 6th string is in D tunning.....I´m sure all this info is in the complete video !!

see you my friend, and please don´t take this as a bad comment. Thanks

  • @jerrywscott Clever boy!!

  • What a treasure. To hear this straight from Graham is priceless; I want to get the whole series so I can brush up on guitar.

  • what is that G

    God Bless You Eternally!

  • hi everyone. whats doing on?

    Anyone there? WW

  • I've just realised, Graham left out the "A" chord.

  • WoW! A guitar lesson from the the man himself.

  • Dear Graham,

Thank you so much for the help on the song. I saw you guys in Pensacola at the civic center about 7 years ago. Great show!! Love you guys!

  • you play a D chord like the pros do...lol..of coarse you are a pro....but I think i got it except the Bm

  • Great!

  • This is a really superb idea. Graham Nash is the man.
