  • @theone9290: Do we actually needs to deal with a white imitator on a Jeffery Osborne video comment section? I find it highly insulting.

  • First heard this song in person back in 1980 in Mobile, AL. LTD was the opening act for The Jacksons. This song will never grow old.

  • @Boricua186 I remember that concert, I was in Buffalo NY at the time. My mom rewarded me for doing well in school by taking me to that one. The first and only time I saw MJ live!!!

  • i wentr to this concert in atlanta. this guy is phenominal

  • @furious45us SO TRUE, HE MAKES YOU FALL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. EVERYTIME HE CAME TO TOWN I WENT TO SEE HIM.

  • You feel this. Does anybody feel Rap?

  • @johnex3303 a fan of the art of music should never down another form of music. all music has it's place just because you don't like a certain type of music you should not put it down.

  • I am creating a playlist of 'REAL MUSIC, with REAL ARTIST'. Music will NEVER be what it once was, so let's hold onto the Oldies but GOODIES!!!

  • J. Osbourne's voice is perfection.

  • yes i love that song make me feel special

  • I fell in love with a stranger and been happy with her for 8 years

  • Gosshhh the voice and instruments sound particularly good in this one...love it :)

  • I also heard this song this morning on Steve Harvey Morning Show and was taken back a few years. Love it...voice, words, and the orchestra/band. For real? Love it.

  • I heard this song for the first time (that I can remember) this morning on the Steve Harvey Morning Show and spazzed. Fell in love with it right there. Problem was, I had no idea what the song was called though I'm fairly certain it's been sampled, so I went crazy on Google for a while trying to find it. Thank God I'm here.

  • man o man i remember the first time i heard this song, i just want to cry, my friend had the "voice" and he song this song. God bless his soul i miss him so much he could sing this song not like jeffrey. man they dont make music like this no more. love it the old school. please stop making over the good stuff.l make your own damn music.

  • I was at my mothers house and she is 67 and she was playing this song and it immediatly put a smile on my face even tho it is a sad song....the only thing that i said to my mother was damm what a beautifull song is this and i am going to look for it on the net.....thnx for posting this song....they really do not make music like this anymore! <3

  • This song brought back sweet memories!!

  • We need this kind of music now a day' when i hear this song it reminds me of the good time when family was family.....

  • Back when music was worth listening to, unlike today's garbage!!!

  • I really think that we've lost the art of music like this... with few exceptions, nobody is making stuff like this anymore. Another lost art of our ancestors.

  • Great voice, great song, they don't make them like this no more :-(

  • i'm weak, i'm teary eyed, i'm in love with love, with this song, with love-making, ooooh jeffrey you're my stranger.

  • The Torch is still lit and burning bright and is being carried by BoyzllMen. They are, as far as I'm concerned the only ones right now that KNOWS what REAL MUSIC is. Hell they were trained to know and understand it.

  • Still sends chills

  • 1977 (Love), 1978 (Togetherness), Devotion (1979) Jeffrey at his finest!

  • i was in the shuttle, jus leavin class when the song came on n all the students in hte shuttle started to sing it... since then i have been playin this song

  • jeffrey is my all time favorite singer

  • Classic to the bone. Whatever happened to true R& B music, lyrics, harmony? I guess when rap came in all that went out. So very few musicians with that kind of talent. Thanks for posting.

  • @IfAngelsCouldBurn I don't know ask those classically trained musicians Jay-Z and Kanye East I'm sure they know.

  • I saw Jeffrey in concert (january 2011) in Alexandria, VA. He was awesome and most importantly, at almost 63 years of age, he was "fit," and his voice was still exceptional. I agree with some of the other comments, I think he is still the "best" male performer/talent out there. Hopefully, some of the younger folks will discover this amazing talent via YouTube, Facebook, and other social media.

  • @jaimejen1 Wow, almost 63, fit, still a truly beautiful voice and still doing concerts. I don't think he gets the recognition he so richly deserves. He is the soundtrack of my youth. Love Ballad is still one of the best love songs ever. He must be doing something right. Keep it going strong

  • I saw Jeffrey Osborne live here in Nassau Bahamas last Saturday, (January 29, 2011). Even at 62 he is still an amazing talent. He started the show with this tune and I was weak!

  • This right here is deep! Now this music is the real deal - all of you wanna be artists, take note!!!

  • I love Jeffrey! He is my favorite male vocalist. He does not get the proper recognition. This is one of my favorite songs. The lyrics are so beautiful.

  • I cannot begin to explain how much I miss this music! Takes me waaaay back to when life was much simpler...

  • I said it before, and i'll say it "wun-mo-gin" can't nothin' mess wit dat good ol skool stuff. this is the stuff that makes the world spin on it's axis, the stuff that makes you wanna grab that sweet & special someone, get cozy and warm, the stuff that makes you squeeze so tight, MOAN, SCREAM, and HOLLA in extasy!

I think Y'all get my meanin'.

  • Man, take me back to the first day of school September 1979. I loved this song back then and still do.

  • i can remember back in the day slow dragging to this ,, oh the fun the memories , the childish puppy love , we all carried before life set in lol,lol

  • @patriciajones9416 I hear you girl. This was truly the stuff! Takes me right back to there....Enjoy!

  • this song is the stuff!!!

  • These youngstas think R-Kelly started the na na na na na! Imma school em tho!

    when u hear it???

  • Good Lord.......what a voice! There are some that really stand out. This is one of them! Thanks Jeffery.

  • Great song, so many memories. Love it.

  • Why the new singers can't get it right like MR Osborne did it!

  • this kind of music is so rare to find these days!!!

  • As I listen to this, I am challenged to name any comtemporary with a voice able to compete with JO. What a clear, moving, yet soothing tone with such control and tonality.....unforgettable!

  • @2225530 you are soooooo right!!!

  • @2225530 Sadly, the chances are slim to none :(

  • @2225530

The only two people who I believe that have the voice to sing anything by JO are Johnny Gill and Christopher Williams. I heard Williams sing "Love Ballad" and he was absolutely awesome.

  • @mlcoolk1 kc & jo jo did a pretty good version of love ballad too

  • @mlcoolk1 and james ingram!!

  • NOBODY NANANANA, <3 that

  • WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW BABEEEEEEEEEE

  • Also sampled by Black Milk for the song Nobody off of T3's Olio Mixtape

  • Life and Love is the realist shit I have ever experience...1985,Grambling State Univ..

  • Thank you!!!!!

  • picked up this album for one pound from a record fair, this song makes it the best pound i ever spent,JO is awesome

  • God I miss my husband!!!!!!! He was my baby. the only one who ever cared about me.

  • God I miss my husband!!!!!!!

  • WELL, T.W.J. WE HAD OUR RUN AND IT WAS GOOD WHILE IT LAST....... I WILL ALWAYYYYYYYYY LOVE U AND MISS U SO MUCH( IT HURTS SO BAD).......... THIS SONG WILL DIE IN MY HEART WITH U................ THANK YOU LTD/JEFFREY FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG.............

  • Man I love this song and always will! This is Jeffrey at His best!! Classic!!

  • this song bring back such good memories , I meet my stranger, and boy did I get lucky, wonderful man , my stranger wasn't a stranger anymore...best man I ever had...

  • I love this one too. One of my all time favorites.

  • "Na Na's" sampled in "Half on a Baby" by R Kelly too, "Your body na na na na" and also on that new joint by Elisabeth Withers "No Regrets"

  • Rap and Hip Hop can never touch the likes of this song. This is singing talent all the way. Hip Hop and Rap with all of the aids and auto tune still can't touch this. I wonder if singing will ever come back and I don't know why it left.

  • It happened to me!!!

  • They all start out as strangers, "stranger danger". lol

  • Man I was young (14 yrs) and "IN LOVE" when this song came out! Wow it brings back so much past memory. Thank you for posting!

  • The "na nas" were sampled for Case and Joe, "Faded Pictures," one of my faves from back in my day. Love this song, though.

  • Wow I'm glad I found this one!! Thanks..

  • Oh yes!!!

  • i love this song make me go back thinking about my mother and her beautiful smile love all ways zachary

  • Sampled by R. Kelly - Sex Me (Part II) @ min 10.55

  • @zencuco he also sampled it for "half on a baby"

  • Love love love it!

  • Found it at last!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

  • man

I been looking for this song for years. I mean years

  • Jeffery O was and is still a great singer...

  • Take us back ,Jeffrey ,nah nah nah nah !!

  • Love it!

  • dedicated this to my dad while he was in mourning after mom passed away.......... thanx for the memories........

  • This song takes me back to my childhood, when music was so good and was not overly sexual or just pure nasty. Jeffrey Osbourne could sing his behind off.

  • This is my favorite L.T.D song. and one of my favorite songs ever. Thank God my parents brought me up on music like this.

  • A very deep and ture song, thanks 4-posting..smile.

  • Damn! This is so true to love a stranger

  • love this song. his voice is so amazing on this song.

  • I once loved a stranger and it was wonderful.

  • they dont make music like this anymore!! REAL MUSIC !!

  • @MrAndrewtwo

Ain't that the truth! I am so glad that I was born in 1970 which enabled me to grow up and hear what REAL MUSIC is and MUST sound like. With voices like that of Jeffrey Osburne, Ronald Isley, Barry White, Patti LaBelle, and Gladys Knight, these young cats just don't know what hell they are missing. Most of today's music is just pure crap, bs, and junk!

  • I can relate to this cause we all be through it where we met someone and they give you that fulfillment but you can't be with them .

  • this their best song

  • always makes me think about my high school days. me and my high school sweetheart , 24yrs later still married and going strong.

  • congradulations my brother. i wish 24 more years.

  • GOD...I miss the 80's...so pure...what would life be without memories...songs like this can stop wars,hate,pain,sadness...flash a smile and pass it on...X

  • You got THAT right, old schooler... HEAVEN help us all, especially the young schoolers. Take us all from this pre-fab-world-and-sick-society-of-internalized hatred with its world-wide cartel of death fought out in our home, streets and hearts....PEACE!! from an old schooler.

  • Amen....and my friend you got it right. All any of us want is to matter just a litle. I try to engage people with a smile whenever I see someone.

  • A true classic !!!!!

  • Yeeeeeeeeesssssssss!!

    "Nobody, na-na-na-na"

  • All time classic. Remember this song as a little girl. This is an all time classic!

  • I sooo luv this song

  • Ooooohhhh. I haven't thought about this song since forever. What a nice memory. So it was LTD "featuring" Jeffrey Osborn at this time. I remember LTD and all their hits from the late 70's, early 80's.

  • Played it over and over again until I got over the love of my life for that time!!

  • they do not make love songs like this anymore

  • I agree this was the Jam!!!!!!!!

  • My song always.

  • I remeber hearing this on the A.M. radio station in my mom's 1976 Chevrolet Chevett. Remember those cars?? hahahaha

  • 79peace to gogo city!

  • Jamz

  • This song reminds me of old friendships that were formed when i was just a little boy growing up in the 70s. A lot of people have since passed away and this song brings their faces vividly into my mind and the fun we use have racing each other down the block and all those block parties back then. I feel so bad for the youth of today because they don't have that freedom and purity without gun fights and drug wars all around them. This music takes me back to a peaceful time when life was simple.

  • I always thought I was the only one liking this song! I always felt being a stranger liking black music as a white woman.

  • There's no such thing as "Black" or "white" music. Music is music, it doesn't have a race, and its meant to be enjoyed by any/everyone. Its sad that only in this racist country we call america that people even make music a race issue.

  • unfortunately, that's the reality. Like it or not. But I do sympathize with your beliefs.

  • Sometimes I feel like a black woman living like music as a white woman when I like people like James Taylor or Carly Simon...LOL!

  • Nothing wrong with that. It's difficult to deny great music.

  • This is STILL the ish!!!! They don't make 'em like that anymore.

  • if anyone was to remake this it should be usher

  • I give you a short TESTOMONY! Wait for the one that you REALLY LOVE. Don't use temporary Lust for a Life of Lasting Love.

  • So few words but such a beautiful song!

  • Love the one. It never be the same when she gone forever . Love is a gift .Watch her smile .Thank you L.T.D

  • If Jeffrey re-released this song today...it would be an instant hit!

This is one of those songs that you remember where you were and what you were doing the first time that you heard it...and zoned out because it is so haunting!

And yes, the video would be amazing!

  • We don't want the masses going crazy, only we the people from 1979 can handle this from the album Devotion, can't handle this shit baby.

    Sy-

  • LOL, this song and "share my love" was the slow cuts back in '79! OLDSCHOOL LTD! they just got rid of 8 track tape players cause I had this on 8 track!!

  • You know, Stay and Share my loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

    Sy-

Sister would not know how to handle that shit today if they heard Jeff in his prime, they don't play this shit anymore. Too much.

    Sy-

  • LOL, I'm going to see him here in the DC area in Nov.. my favorite male singer!!

  • He's going to be here in November as well.

Last night I loved a stranger.............................

I may come down, I hate ging out on Sunday's even if yoiu take the Monday off, Thu, Fri, Sat, are going out nights.

    Sy-

  • I always got upset because Jeffrey never got the credit he deserved. Like a Walter Jackson. I'd look his name up and get Ozzy Osbourne...WTF!!! Sing on Sir Jeffrey

  • Great song. I kind of wish one of these current artists would make it over. I think it could have a powerful video. All these exotic, beautiful women that he lays with on all these random nights and at the end his beautiful strong, respectable looking sista comes to save him from all the foolishness and fills the void. Who should do it? Usher? Trey Songz? Tyrese? lol. I'm taking suggestions. lol

  • Some stuff should not ever be done over. NOBODY could do this like Jeff Osborne!

  • God I need this song so bad right now all my friends are dropping like flies.

  • Wow...brought a tear to my eye. The memories.

  • I had this song along with me when I was an exchange student in paris & london. i was so lonely & would listen to this song at nite before i went to bed, just to feel like i was home. brings back good memories. i am going back to europe this year to see some of the old places. i will bring this song again & listen to it just like i did before.

  • Funny you would say that; this song reminds me of my sister too. She was 28 years old when she left me in this world and that was in 1995. Thanks for sharing

  • I remembered this song on my way from my grandfather's funeral and I have loved it since. Thanks for the posting it means the world to me!!!!!!!

  • I have always loved this man's voice!

  • Awesome... One of my favorites. It takes Let It Be to a whole new level, incuding the background la-la-la-la.

  • This is the SONG! AWESOME!

  • (Groovin')

  • me too!

  • yeah baby

  • Best Song Ever , Hands down... Jeffrey osbourne is the shit.

  • You said it best!! Jeffrey Osborne is in a class ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!! These young so-called singers need to sit their young asses down somewhere with a note pad and take notes!

  • I used to hear this before school on WBLS in New York. Never forgot it.

  • this song makes me think of my sister she use to play it over and over. she has been gone now for 16 yrs. after she would break up with one of her b/f.. it is a pretty song..
