hey dude how long total time did this take? also did you opt for any of their gunsmithing services? i bet that grip feels alot better, i love the glock but i hate how slippery it is and i dont want to add that grip tape.
Great video bradah! Rajah dat! You got me sold on dis one. Send em my G23 today with the Hybrid Texture too. You did have the rubber on the sides right? How is it holding up so far? It does not like crumble or anything and falls apart in time does it? Cant wait to get mine. Again, thank you for sharing!
@daddyo702 thanks, so far it's holding up pretty good. really feels better especially when you conceal carry and the grip rubs against bare skin. You should make a video of the pistol when you decide to do the grip reduction.
What an interesting modification. I really don't think I'd ever want to make such a modification, but I guess if you like it that is all that matters.
@japaneseaggression bah...springfield fanboys. As a previous owner of a TRP, EMP, XD45 Tac, XD45GAP, XD9 in 3", 4", and 5", I can honestly say...meh, XD's are alright.
Still have my glock 17. Hope to get a Glock 20 6" soon. Lets see your xd do 10mm...wait...it can't? awww poor baby.
ready for that 3 thousand round glock replacement frame torture test dakine? :-D I've been buying up so much random 9mm ammo to test.
@myantispambox more parts eh? prove it. is this because springfield puts a better guide rod and spring assembly in them; bringing the part count to a total of +1?
Thank you for posting the video .. thanks to you and another video I saw ... helped me in making the decision of sending my Glock 19 frame for a few MODs ... Dale did a great job and will be sending my G27 tomorrow. Cheers! :)
One thing that always stuck, was the simple statement, if it dont fit, dont buy it. I would never buy any gun that did not fit my hand. A gun is not bought to be modified to fit your hand, if it doesnt fit, dont buy it.
@Renta1Cop That statement does make sense. I like the Glock platform, and with all it's positives the only negative for me was the grip. i disagree with the statement of a gun is not bought to be modified to fit your hand. The same can be said with multiple accessories with multiple platforms. AR15, revolver, and Shotgun grips, sights, stocks etc...
accessorizing your gun is far different from modifying a pistols grip down like that. Its far different from taking wood grips off of a revolver and putting hogues on. But I get to each their own. I just feel by taking away that hump and filling in that grip area takes away the functionality of it. I know alot of people put grip plugs in their glocks, but it has a purpose to not be filled in or glock would have done it. I guess to each there own
The purpose for the hole is for a lanyard to be threaded up through it. It's not really there to improve reliability or comfort or anything like that, it's because the Austrian military requires lanyards on their pistols.
I'm talking about the grip channel hole, not the lanyard hole. Filling that in takes away from the functionality of the gun. If it wasn't functional, glocks would come with the grip plug@fluffydub
@fluffydub (Long sigh), Grip Channel, yes I get there is a lanyard hole also, the grip channels is so that if the weapon gets dirt and water in it, it can drain out through the grip channel
I do have smaller hands, but the reason i wanted to do this was to get rid of that "Glock Hump" or lower palm swell. If it was higher or less pronounced then i would have just left it.
Hey man, It looks outstanding. I want to do that for my Glock 21 .45, but I have a question for you. How did you send it and get it back? I can't find anyone around here with a FFL.
You don't have to send through FFL. It's like sending it back to the factory and getting it back to your door. Email Dale he'll let you know the best way to send it.
Yea Dale did a great job with it. See if you can find a range to rent and shoot. If it feels good for you i would highly recommend it. If not there are many other good ones out there.
Cool... it would be interesting to have measured the grip a bit higher up from the mag well... as you can see the hump curves back smaller at the bottom. I wager the difference would be greater if you'd measured the front/back distance higher up on the grip. thanks for the vid, looks great!
Thanks, i would have measured in different areas but the finger grooves extended the measurement in certain areas, so i just took a generic measurement.
He kept that line perfect! I like the texture too! Looks good!

Nice.

dakine425 1 year ago
@dakine425 Glocks feel too cheap and rickity. the grips suck, the slide rails break. give me the XDm all day long,.

@tsakherkuum I got the hybrid texturing, rough on the front and back and a more smooth rubber type texture for the sides.
