Not every cover has to be better than the original, they're cool as long as they're different and not shitty. It's only bad if it's in the same style but worse. This is a good metal version of the song. Most covers are not better than the original, but they're the band's take on the song and if they're a good band it will usually sound different but still good. It doesn't mean they "ruined the song".
