I remember hearing Chevy with Robin Valk in the studio's at BRMB in Birmingham. I think they may have done a session. I recall Chevy citing Steely Dan as influence, which seemed out of fashion at the time, but time has proved them right I reckon. Who lissens to crap teenybpooer bands like Iron Maiden eh?
Were lucky enough to see the band twice in Bury and then Blackburn just as this album was realist went back stage to meet the band at the Bay Horse Inns Blackburn
Brill night and Brill band
I too had a perm then like Bobs and I too have ended up the same way a warning for all me thinks
I have been a HUGE fan of Chevy for 25 years without even knowing the band. "Shine on", "Too much lovin", and "Cold and Lonely" have been stuck in my head for so long. Glad I know now the great band that wrote those tunes that defined my teen years :-)
Out of all the NWOBHM groups that appeared on EMI's 'Metal For Muthas II' the only ones to have songs on youtube are Trespass, White Spirit, Chevy and Jameson Raid (AKA The Raid). Try a search with 'NWOBHM' after the name. Trespass appear a lot on the web, although only Jameson Raid seem to have a current website...
No signs of: Eazy Money, Xero, Dark Star, Horsepower and Red Alert on youtube, not much on the net either - unless anyone knows different?
I briefly roadied for this band in the early eighties and also supported them at the `infamous Crown Hotel`in Leamington Spa. I have long sice lost the album but would love to hear it again. I have emailed Bob Poole (Bass Player) but the site where it is available fromm is in German- and I cannot understand it. Anyone help or ideas as to where I can get a copy would be greatly appreciated
@harrynewsome You may know that Chevy played three reunion gigs recently. I have eight SIGNED copies of the CD of The Taker left from the gig which I am selling on Chevy's behalf, They are signed by all except the drummer who we could not contact
I saw them many times a great band and i had the tape of the taker which is now sadley chewed to bits so has anyone got a copy of it? Love the track called you got me running.
