  • I really loved your Channel.

    Awesome video! Got any more?

  • how come this video isn't high quality or HD.

  • is this embed thingy permanent and will be applied to my videos?.....

  • My Videos are in HD's, i tried to add the HD code after the video url in my myspace page but it doesn't play in HD. and im good at HTMLs :(

  • Clever!

  • Part #2

can you please let me know. Now i did try to posted the finish CODEC to Embed, but I was unable to PASTE.Thank you very much for you tutorial, and i love watching you video tutorial and the word WHA-LA, sound fantastic to me loll

  • Where are you trying to paste it?

  • Parte #1 Hello Julie, how are?I just have a question and the rezone I am asking you this is because I have done my home work and I was unable to finish the tutorial task I just watch it .

How can i change the border/frame color like you did, just to browse you tube website (Only for this purposes If i do)?

  • Thanks for the question. If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to include the border/frame color just for purposes of browsing YouTube? If that is correct, then it is not something YouTube actually enables you to do. The border option is only for use when embedding a YouTube video player elsewhere, such as on a blog or in a forum.

Let me know if that answered your question.

    Thanks,

    ~JP

  • Yes J.p that was my concern, thank you for being straight forward answer me this question.

    load & clear Boss

  • zzz zzz zzz

  • Does this work with embedded playlists as well?

  • just add &hd=1

  • hey cool video ....than you xD

  • And thank YOU for taking the time to leave positive feedback.

    All my best,

    ~Julie

  • No. But thanks for taking the time to offer such kind feedback.

    ~Julie

  • just click customize and if its available in HD check the box that says HD

  • For someone who claims to be able to help others target their market audience, you sure "missed the boat" with me! Also, if you are claiming to offer methods where you do not have to pay for video hosting and then charging like over $250 dollars for your videos aren't you essentially doing the same thing? All the info you provide for sale is free online.

  • Comments in 2 places? Wow, my product really bothers you huh?

You're wrong that I "missed the boat" in terms of being able to target my audience, for you have watched the videos. Seems to me I succeeded in bringing my video to your attention, no?

However, in the end, I don't believe you're my target market. My customers are small businesses & online entrepreneurs wishing to learn how to market on YouTube & apply vSEO tactics to their videos (getting "free hosting" has nothing to do w/ it).

  • Just received your YTSW videos. They have been very helpful in figuring out the You Tube stuff. Thanks Julie and Paul for the great information! Looking forward YTSW 2.

  • Joe - Many thanks for your kind feedback -- much appreciated! I see you're a fellow Hoosier, as well. Great stuff!

    All my best,

    ~Julie

  • thank you nice tut

  • I wish i knew what all that means. . . BUT I DONT! ;(

  • is that pursebuzz v.o.?

  • how to get rid of youtube bar ?

  • Interesting video and attentions !

    Great job !

  • I have a question:D..

    (in the customizeicon)

    you have made your selection..

and then you copy the embed code above, where do you have to paste it, so that all your videos are in that selection??

You would help me alot.. pls can you answer my question:D..thank you?

    Best regards naomi!:D

  • Naomi, I'm confused by what you mean by "all your videos are in that selection?" -but I think you might be referring to is the ability YouTube now gives us to embed code of our Channel so that the most recent videos we've uploaded show up & scroll through on our embedded player.

To do that, look for the embed code on your channel page in the "Connect with...(your profile name)" box mid-way down. The code is beneath where it reads "Embed This Channel:"

Let me know if that helps (or doesn't?) :)

  • Well..so now i copied the embed code, where should paste it now?(that is my problem) ...:(

  • Hi Naomi - That is going to depend on where you are putting it. You'll need to paste it in an area that allows you to enter HTML code. Are you wishing to embed your YouTube video(s) on a blog, website, myspace page...where? That will help me answer your question. Thanks, ~JP

  • Well, I want that when i go on youtube, that all my videos that i watch, are in that color...

So where do you paste it?:)

  • for hq, just put &fmt=18 at the end.....

    It's not that hard.

(I don't know the quick code for hd though... :()

  • where when you upload it or? ya i kinda dont know :\

  • That's actually not what is being discussed here. The code you are referring to is what you tack on the end of the URL in the address bar so that the video you are currently watching here on YouTube appears in HQ or HD.

What my video addresses is how to get the HQ or HD quality versions to appear in embedded video players that are pasted off-site (as in off of YouTube and on another site elsewhere on the Internet).

Thanks for offering your tips though. :)

  • Oh. I'm sorry... My bad...

    (^_^')

  • Wow.

i give you a 3/5 for the making the video ten thousand times longer then it should be.

    it should be only 1minute.

  • Again, I covered a lot more in this particular tutorial than what the tutorial title suggests. However, I appreciate the constructive criticism (I do tend to be very wordy) and will keep it in mind with future tutorials I post here.

    Thanks.

  • Seriously...

  • thanks :)

  • I have noticed that on some videos the HQ doesnt work on its own. You still need to add the &ap=%2526fmt%3D18 code to it to force it to display. Ive uploaded several videos recently. Both were HD quality. Both had the Watch in HD option at the bottom. However when embedded one would display in HQ and the other would not.

  • To add to this, the one that wouldnt display in HQ (even though it said it was displaying in HQ when you clicked play), if you would click the Watch in Normal in the player itself, it would not change the quality at all. BUT when you click the Watch in HQ afterwards it would say HQ is not available.

  • There was no reason for this to occur at all. Both were encoded with the same format and at the same time. However after adding this code &ap=%2526fmt%3D18, it would display it in HQ with no problem.

  • Hey this work great thanks for the info and taking your time explaining it! You just saved me hours to researching and test.

    Thank You,

    BWC

  • Probably not...but we covered a lot more than what the title suggests. Meanwhile, it only takes 10 seconds to act like kind of an ass.

  • The trick for embedding High Quality videos does only work partially now since YouTube embedded this feature into the videos itself (a HQ button will pop up inside the embedded video whenever a High Quality video is played).

What I noticed is that the embedded video will get a little sharper with the "&ap" trick, but not as sharp as the video on YouTube itself. In order for it to get the same quality you have to press the HQ button, HOWEVER, this doesn't work when you have used the "&ap" trick.

  • Since YT's change last week, I'm actually noticing that if I have changed my account settings to only play high quality videos on YouTube, and I'm logged in to YouTube when out watching embedded YT videos, the high quality will play automatically (as the default), with the "HQ" button only giving me the option to watch it in normal quality. If I've used the "&ap" code, then even opting to watch it in normal quality won't work. I'm still testing this out but would be interested in your findings.

  • Haha, I just sended you a message stating the same and some more of my findings regarding this. Get something to drink and take your time reading it because it's quite a story. I should become a writer :)

  • Randy - excellent email, and yes, we're onto something with what the YouTube settings are having an effect on what the default is on blogs/sites off of YouTube. My only question now is addressing what you say about medium vs high quality. I just sent you another email to find out whether or not you are currently using the "&ap" snippet on your site. I looked at that version and tried to compare w/ the one you have here on the site. Hard to tell if the snippet is messing it up. Please see email.

  • Okay, I have made an update to this on my blog. That is YouTubeSecretWeapon(dot)com(forward slash)blog - Jan 28th post -- see the description over to the right for the link.

It's a lot to explain here, but basically, the conversation "Cade78" and I have been having is a good start. YouTube has now officially enabled high quality playback on its video embeds (meaning you do not need the HTML hack code to get it to come up).

Please see the blog post for further discussion. Thank you, Julie

  • what's the diffence between high defenition and high quality?

  • High quality improves the visual into a much clearer picture, but it is not full HD resolution.

  • THANKS works nicely

  • Great Tutorial! Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for this, your a life saver.. subscribed

  • Thanks for the tips! I run a website and I was wondering about that.

  • No problem, thanks for stopping by to watch!

    All my best, ~Julie

  • where did you get edit post?

  • I'm not sure I understand your question. "edit post"? Do you mean on the WordPress blog.

Please clarify what you mean, and I'll do my best to answer.

    Thanks!

  • Just one question, How come when I embed, like on my Myspace, It does not play automatically??? is there a secret to that to???

  • To make it autoplay, just add "&autoplay=1" after the video ID so it looks like this:

    ... com/v/XXXXXXXX&autoplay=1">

Just make sure it's in front of the end quote in BOTH places where the ID occurs.

You can also visit vTubeTools(dot) com and simply drop in your vid ID there and have an embed code generated for you based on settings you choose (autoplay is the default there).

Do note: YouTube no longer counts autoplays from embedded players toward your overall view counts (unfortunately).

  • Its not working!!! ugh.

  • Hey John, Jesse, and James -- How is it not working? Let me know where you are trying to embed it, and which video, and I will try to help figure out what the problem could be.

    Thanks,

    ~Julie

  • Nice and very useful tips. This is just another example "smart computing people".
