have heard something about the average adult male being able to generate about 300 watts when pedalling a bike, for about 5 to ten minutes, and up to 400 – 450 for maybe 15 seconds. Why then is the power limit for electric bikes only 200 watts in Australia? There are of course the usual political reasons… you pay far more taxes and charges if you drive a car or use public transport, and the powers that be are not about to make it easy for you to ride a bike and pay almost no taxes or charges

@staver76 G'mate. I like both, hub motors are less work on a build. The bike is running at 86 volts at 200amp max lifebatt. top speed 130kmph with motorbike gear on.I have a hub motor in my other bike it's 3000 watts at 72 volts lifebatt top speed 80kmph i love it. Hub motors are good.
@optimad51 Ah, thanks for responding! 80 kph with 72v at 3000 watts, wow! That's amazing, makes a fool out of my kiddy 40 kph, oh well :-), it is a "bicycle after all" good luck with your ebiking!
OMG ! That is so cool ! - Jaidyn and Brenton think its awesome...........If they start tinkering around in the shed and the motor goes missing from the car, Lawn mower, whippersnipper or any other device around home for parts - I will know who to bame ! LOL
nice bike man wow I like how you costmade the fram I love to buy frams to do that with right now working on buying tools to do my own fab work I want to build a nice bike fram and yours is sweet looking
I can understand 50 random words associated with ebikes in the 'tags' but to put them in the description, without any real description as to whats been used or going on, is 'insert word of choice'
At least your better with bikes than video descriptions.... and it does look like one good build.
@optimad51 Totally agree with you

Well, actually not illegal, but classified as a motor bike, and will need to register it.

@MavVRX Rather than limiting the power of the motor, the law should allow for more flexibility with power, but impose a speed limit

Too bad it's illegal to ride on Australian roads
