R Sen. Ted Stevens used GI Bill/ He now denies vets theirs

Ted Stevens was the callous senator who went repeatedly against the Alaskan people & who pushed for the aerial killing/massacre of hundred of wolves in Alaska. I say good riddance to him and may he rot in jail. I hope the Alaska Governor joins him soon. She's just as callous.

Inaccurate reporting. Stevens included two amendments to the GI bill. One will give a $500 bonus to veterans who travel from rural areas. The second will allow benefits to be transferred to another family member. Stevens negotiating was prematurely perceived as opposition. He originally advocated McCains alternate bill in order to force compromise so the majority would include amendments. This is a common legislative process.

$500 and transferrance falls way short of what the Dems wanted to give the returning GIs.The original theme we had was that our troops were fighting an enemy that paralelled the Nazis however the war has been fought on the cheap, fewer troops used so the impact on America is less and there would be less opposition despite this being WW3 according to the warmongers. And when they come home after more tours they dont get what they should. Shameful. Endless abuse of our troops!

Everyone got what they wanted. The bill passed as Senator Webb wanted, plus the amendments I mentioned. You can be happy about this bill, at least.
