Whoever says Duncan is untalented and greedy and shit like that really doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. I've had the privilege of meeting Duncan in countless ocations and had the privilege of seeing him live as well. He is very down to earth, very humble, easy going and extremely approachable. I have followed him since his 1st cd came out and I have all his collection including his obscure EPs and Live cd's. I admire him and look forward to seeing him live again.

the main characters who played in SA do not have great voices, and their looks are not that great either. Jon Groff is not very masculine looking and isn't a turn on. Also cursing and taking off your clothes for money is a big turn off. I like a little masculinity in a man. the girl was not good looking and has a strong but ordinary voice. people who are into trash music and trash culture ususally are desperate to validate an already insecure self that isn't all that, looks or talent wise.
When people don't have a great body or great face, or talent, they have to prove something by taking off their clothes in videos, showing bra or panties in shoots, and stomachs, and nipples. DS dates people who have no real beauty or talent. Insecure women who get cheek implants and show body parts for money. Flat chested women who are not tall.bland facial features. That is all he can handle since quality is something that makes him uncomfortable, since he works in the junk business.
If you notice the 60s and 70's had many ectomorphics involved with mainstream music. Today there are no ectomorphics. Tall and lanky just doesn't look good in a video in their minds.C.hetzel is not tall, she is 5'6" and she is callous, that is why DS liked her. I used to draw alot of fashion illustrations. I am very picky about clothes and notice the same downhill spiral.There is low standards everywhere. This trend is very unhealthy.
With a true artist, the bottom line is quality, sensitivity, something that lacks coarseness and callousness. The entertainment industry has their standards or coarseness, callousness, vulgarity and they except everyone to jump along with them. Not everyone is callous, coarse and some people know what quality vocals are, and good songs. These people wouldn't know a good song if it jumped up at them or a good voice. DS wouldn't have been signed in the 60's and 70's. he doesn't know about music

Yes, if Duncan was truly brilliant he would have realized that his voice is not high quality and try to connect with people who have special vocal quality. Duncan Sheik is a totally brilliant Musician. It is "All" of his Qualities that makes him unique and different, not to mention intellectually stimulating, not Pop. SA is anything, but ordinary, plain, boring, etc. It is however everything, that current day Musical Theater is not. I'm very, very happy for their Successes and to be honest, could not be happier. I think Duncan is gorgeous, talented, smart and kind. When you look at the good side you can see beauty there if you try.
If you choose to look at his faults you will find some, but I think it is best to focus on his good qualities.
