You can only level up your total level by gaining numbers onto your individual skills. it doesn't matter how many times you get your xp bar almost all the way up because it won't increase your skill.

This doesn't and will never work,

1. As JeanDage85 said, jail only depletes the current level and will not lower the skill level itself, but I assume the video maker knows that.

2. You only gain experience when the skill tins over to the next level.

I know this is VERY obvious knowledge to anyone that has played Skyrim, but even attempting this idea is the definition of retarded.

This could only work if A) Jail time depleted the skill of a tree down to its previous level(Ie. Going from 56 in Illusion down to 55) and B) Assuming the previous is true, then the main xp bar would need to remain intact even when you lose a skill level. Pretty sure that's not how the game works though. Jail time will only deplete what you have gained so far on that skill level, without bumping you down a complete skill level. It would be a bit silly to lose a skill level, but keep the perks.

i dont think this will work cuz you need to lvl ur skill for ur lvl bar to progress even farther. so if uu only level the skill bar up half way or most of the way and then deplete it. your not doing anything just making yourself work harder. 90 skill: 1 more skill lvl and u lvl up. ur skill bar l----l---- <-- ur skill bar now in jail l-------- it wont work u need to lvl ur skills to lvl up unless u glitch somehow

well... as far as i know the exp bar for leveling progresses only when a skill gains a point. What your theory does is postponing the progress of a skill , fact that doesn't give you exp. So i believe that your theory is wrong

Going to jail would take the experience back down to 0. So you would be at the start of 90 for One Handed.. Which is true. But I'm sure gaining levels of it doesn't work..

@gninja92 yea weapons are still much more powerful, especially if you are into sneaking because they can get you so much critical damage it's ridiculous. But you can still change whatever you want to be during the game but the perks is just different for each race and also what kind of stone you activate in the beginning. Right now I have about every items in the game possible, with all the spells and mana to use them and it's great.

Your skill has to go up a point to level up. You won't level up no matter how much progress you get in that level. The idea will not work. Your level only does a step increase when a skill does an increase.

Partial skill increase does nothing for your steps toward the next level. Likewise if your partial skill increase gets wiped out in jail it does not decrease your step toward the next level either.

Why? Because your skill value does not decrease by a whole number. It only drops by the partial amount earned toward the next skill level whole number. And none of that is used by the game toward your level.

Jail cannot reduce your levels down below what it is. In your example you said all the skills need to be level 90? Well no matter how many times you go to jail, your skills wont drop below 90. You will lose all the EXPERIENCE from level 90 and have to restart to get to 91, but it wont ever reduce your levels, just the experience.

Unfortunately, the experience gained toward levels is not from using skills, but rather from leveling them up, and because jail cannot decrease the levels of them, it does not make additional skill level-ups, and by extension additional levels, possible.

It won't work. It worked in Morrowind (and I think in Oblivion), but the leveling system in Skyrim is a bit different. So no, you can't get past 81 : )

Bethesda could have definitely made skill trees like lockpicking (since the skeleton key renders it useless), enchanting, alchemy, speech and even block like an automatic skill/perk increase freely which wouldn't limit the options in choosing. Even health should have increase and if u wanted more than add it...that way a mage can have some health but these are my grievances since i am new to elderscrolls series.
