@gmillergt3 Not really. A stock GT-R would cane a GT3 RS very easily too, yes even around a track. Of course it would then have to come in much sooner to cool off, but over any given lap, it is much quicker.
@DavidYu2007 I don't know but I think it would be an even match because i've seen a porsche gt3 rs beat a lamborghini superlegerra around the track. It depends.
The Nurburgring lap time for the MK.II 997 GT3RS is faster by 1 sec compared to the 2011 500hp GT-R...test concluded by Sport Auto and by the same driver, Horst von Saurma.
The GT-R is an incredible machine none the less ,but it's still a beefed up crappy Datsun that tries to take on the mighty Beetle ;) Maybe in another life japs... ;)
@Mclaren3054 David Yu is a Auto Journalist and longtime member of NAGTROC and knows what he is talking about - besides that tidbit - it is plain to see that the only Porsche to beat a GT-R at Nurburgring is the GT2RS (valued at ~300K). The RS would last longer on a track (unless the GT-R had some serious after market cooling) - but again - David is correct that best laptime to best laptime, the GT-R is quicker with equal drivers on an equal day. The GT3RS is a serious machine none the less.
@Mclaren3054 I understand what you are saying - at this level - there is no such thing as THAT much faster. Again the GT3RS is an awesome car - it is very close to the GT-R on the track and can likely last longer without heating issues. For a one lap best time - the GT-R is still faster on most tracks.
@DavidYu2007 gt3 rs is lighter but it has 40 less horsepower.... and plus it doesnt have a bunch of computers managing almost all of the driving for you... even the drift king himself said that... the gt3 rs is all man and machine and engineering excellence... u cant really compare them... unless u compare the turbo to the gtr... then it would be fair... turbo loses on the track, but would kill on the drag strip 0-60 2.6 motor trend.... plus 911s r much more fun to drive... :)
@DavidYu2007 nah! 997 gt3 rs ate gtr skyline in a circuit several times already, FYI porsches are not for drag racing, it is specialized in stability in cornering. and r those official porsche drivers?
Looks like the Gt3 RS MK II with 450hp. It´s not a car for speeding on a strait. Take it to a racetrack and you´ll see the potential of the car. Great car. I would take the GT3. To much problems with the nissan on the racetrack, such as oiltemp and guarantee...
all i can say is that i would rather have porcshe than a nissan because i just love the sound and looks of every one of them but nissan has made alot of shitty cars with alot of shiity ass mototrs
Who cares? It's still a Nissan!

This is a modded GT-R (watch his other vid where the same car outpaces a new Turbo S...)

Pointless comparison: 4-wheel drive, a damp track and lots of hp and torque
The GT3 is a track car - the GT-R isn't

As great as the GTR is, I'd take the GT3 RS. Awesome sound and response from that legendary flat-6.

in this case... i think i'd still buy the gt3rs. Its freaking amazing looking/sounding exotic. However, the GTR is a beast on the track.

LOL..... Porsche GT2 and GT3 RS and Turbo S 997.5 all in the dust.. YEAH!!!

Ouch... Thats has too hurt, spending all that money on a GT3 RS and then getting soundly beaten by a car half the price!
