Anyone who questions that this buck isnt legit has never hunted in or around buffalo county. The deer is legit, not from a deer farm and was shot a while back. This buck is purely an example of hard work and the practice of QDM. I feel disbelievers are in denial because they cant grow bucks of this caliber.

Even though he is a monster buck and was being hailed as the world's record, it was very evident to me that it wasn't due to the fact of the abnormal points that are not considered legal typical tines in accordance with B&C rules and i posted this info to the Ledger paper at that time. 10joeho is correct that this buck called the Field & Stream buck was killed by Bob Decker with Archery method and netted 223 2/8 Non-Typical score. What a great buck for the record book!

I saw the picture of the Bob Decker buck (horrible picture by the way) and don't believe it is the same buck. This buck's rack appears more massive and has 3 super long tines on his left side which Decker's doesn't. The brow tines are also slightly bigger on the opposite sides of both bucks. Don't be sucked in by all the propaganda just yet! The monster may still live!

YES IT IS THE SAMW BUCK! When bucks are in velvet they appear to be more massive then they really are. If you compare the brow tines between the 2 pics they are identical. Its a maiframe 7X7 14-pointer with 2 extra points and is a typical. The Hansen Buck is a little lengthier, but this buck has more mass overall. I think the mass can make up for some of th length loss. It will come down to overall symmetry for this buck to become the new world record.

Hello starchildbt. There is no way the buck will be a world record. 2 of the other tines are actually abnormal points (so actually 6X6)besides the 2 stickers you mentioned which i calculate to be at least 23 inches total. He will score quite high in B&C either as Typical or Non-typical but not a world record.

The deer was shot on Saturday morning by Bob Decker of Eau Claire Wisconsin. He's a native of the area and has been hunting that land for years before that video came out.
