I had the opportunity to watch this film during the African Film Fest via Trans Africa. Enjoyed it tremendoursly. It is a powerful film that touches and speaks the problems affecting many immigrant community. The actors really played their parts well, making the story very believeable. Almost felt like i was watching a documentary film. LOVED IT!!!!
i blame the mom , who doesnt even teach her daughters how to cover her hair and body, a gurl if she reaches 9 years old, its compulsory to teach ur daughters to pray nd cover her hair nd body .. not wear jeans nd hair open ... well de lady was good in preserving somali culture, but without islam culture does not work ..if a mom have deen and dhaqan nd teach her daughters , her kids wouldnt even tell her fuck off
for me i dont blame de lil gurls using abuse words, but i blame the mom , who doesnt even teach her daughters how to cover her hair and body, a gurl if she reaches 9 years old, its compulsory to teach ur daughters to pray nd cover her hair nd body .. not wear jeans nd hair open ... well de lady was good in preserving somali culture, but without islam culture does not work ..if a mom have deen and dhaqan nd teach her daughters , her kids wouldnt even tell her fuck off
Interesting story line - if only real families did not face this issue! I'd love to hear your input on the stories found in our video as well - real families that are facing homelessness in Central Florida.
Gosh this is so incredibly weird. Im from sweden and those somalis are my canadian relatives, they came to visit us when I was like ten or something which is about 5/6 yrs ago. Hahha can't believe I found this video
Well, SamSam would get a kick out of this, now wouldn't she??!! Did Sagal & Asha visit, too? They never told me they went for a trip overseas. Then again, I never asked...
btw, I'm the white guy in this clip sitting with a white woman. A short bit, but hey, I got in the film!!
Oh that is so sad .. look how he is talking (alot safer than where you been) and look how she taking here mum subhana laah ...and bd wy that happen in really life ....i hope we get a prace 2 go our contry I hope...

@brownsugar24444 - Contact the National Film Board in Canada ( nfb.ca ) and ask about the movie & how to get it. They should know.
I haven't seen the final version yet, & I'm not even sure if my speaking part survived the cutting room. Hope so. It was an interesting experience...
