Lastly, Ron Paul's libertarian, individualistic values are exactly what hurt minorities in this country. If the focus is going to be put on individual liberty, then there is an unfair advantage to white males, in particular, because the economic history and structure of this society benefit them most. Thus, if we say, "every libertarian for himself," minorities aren't going to come on top. We need a government that will protect the interests of the disenfranchised.

@ajdesau Keeping black men, who use marijuana, out of prison is a great idea because most marijuana users are contributing members of society and contribute to the well bing of their families. Throwing them in jail for a non violent marijuana offence creates socio-economic instability by creating a criminal out of them, causing lost wages, and breaking up families.
@jaydillon1 I actually agree with Paul on this point (sort of). However, legalizing marijuana is not going to bring stability and solidarity to the black community. The problems are much deeper than that. Furthermore, if marijuana is decriminalized, that industry will be stripped from blacks and will flourish in white dominated markets (as it often does), which is why when you talk to actual drug dealers, you often find them saying that they don't what marijuana to be legalized.
@ajdesau Of course a dealer who can sell a product at a cartel price would not want to introduce more producers into "their" market and have to compete for business at equilibrium market prices. And to say that doing so is somehow "anti-black" is an ignorant statement.
I think it's unfair for black people to continual tell other black people not to vote for Obama just because he's black, as if that's the only reason black people did. That's rather insulting. @jaydillon1 I actually agree with Paul on this point (sort of). However, legalizing marijuana is not going to bring stability and solidarity to the black community. The problems are much deeper than that. Furthermore, if marijuana is decriminalized, that industry will be stripped from blacks and will flourish in white dominated markets (as it often does), which is why when you talk to actual drug dealers, you often find them saying that they don't what marijuana to be legalized.

Hey this aint my YouTube account, but im black and jumped on the Obama bandwagon years ago for the same reason as everyone else in my family and my neighborhood, I admit that. But he's had his chance and all his promises weren't shit, and the only change has been for the worse, and his slogan was a lie cause clearly, "No, he can't!" Voting for the first time and helping put him in office opened my eyes to the importance of politics and made me feel proud to get off the couch for once - RON P!
