  • i love my mac

  • @brihines,

How much money did you spent on your PC and how old is it?

How much money did you spent on your Mac and how young is it?

OFCOURSE THE MAC RUNS FASTER! It's newer, it costs probably over two times as much ..

  • You fucktards....it doesn't matter how much the damn thing costs, the specs are really what matters. It's like comparing 120horsepower to 300horsepower.

    His comparison is good.

  • @Dell0304 how is his comparison good? we don't know what the specs are. i don't even know where to begin about the specs. we have no info. not only that, i think this is not a true test of o/s ability. i mean boot ups are not a good measure of anything since they are often hindered by the hdd. not only that the dvd playback is a good indication of his computer knowledge. i'm not debating pc vs mac but you simply cannot compare 2 random machines and say either o/s is better.

  • @blueovalfan23 Whatever, it may not be "fair" to you guys, but I can tell you right now, the machine on the left is far better than the one on the right. I'm not biased, and if you like PCs (I still use them for things) then whatever, that's you're life. Just my opinion though.

  • @Dell0304 i prefer windows 7 and linux mint 11 personally. he keeps saying macs and pcs. to me that's apple's o/s and microsoft's o/s. the computers come in a variety of flavors. i'm not debating which is the better machine, i'm saying he might be comparing a pent m to a core 2 duo for all we know. then on top of that, saying macs in general are better than pcs based on his seemly lacking knowledge. that is not really fair. do you even know what you are talking about when it comes to hardware?

  • @blueovalfan23 I understand. That computer looks pretty new to me though. Whatever, I don't care that much.

    Carry on.

  • @Dell0304 not the point. i'm not even gonna get started on the age of the machines. oh well i guess it does not matter. i like your polite way of shrugging me off. more youtubers could learn a thing or two from you friend. might wanna leave the whatever stuff out next time though because some people have a hair trigger. you have a good day, ok?

  • @blueovalfan23 Thanks! I try not to be an ass....

    Have a good day too.

  • try a alienware or a high powered laptop at $2,000 to that Mac.

  • Hmm. A Mac is a PC basically with a different OS. They're all the same darn thing with a different OS. Install Windows Vista Premium on a MacBook, and it would be slow too. Be fair!

  • Buy a $2000 PC, and THEN compare. I am nowhere near getting a mac, because of the ultra-high price here in India.

  • I love both Mac & PC. Macs are slightly better though.

I hope I can save some money and buy a used Mac soon

  • Sir, you have too little experience with the way you have to read DvD's on Windows. Other then that, you can see the cheaper laptop held its own fairly well enough against the Mac

  • 2ºnd And of course, inbetween all the shit you still lack the decency to download proper software to read DVDs, either that or your pc is already filled with viruses.

What i learned from this video, is how mac fanboys WANT to know how good their machines are, and end up soundind stupid, ignorant and idiotic, Why?

    How old is this guy?

    50?

Thats what the mac exists for, its an easy machine, its easy to use. The pc is for hardcore gaming, its better, for those who know how to use it.

  • The size of your ignorance is too great for me to point out everysingle stupid fail here.

1ºst The pc asks you stupid questions because you download shitloads of shit, you install all the shit (of course without checking the "warn me when an update is available" or the "automatically update itself"), getting viruses because you're too stupid and ignorant to know whats safe and what isn't.

  • I always wondered why PC-Nerds are always stuck in the 80's stereotype of Macs. Macs are alot better than they were in the 80s, even 90s. I've grown up with both. Macs can do pretty much 100% what Windows does now. Unless I want to waste money on every single game ever released on PC, I'd get a Mac. No wait, I can get every single game on my Mac that's on PC...because I can install Windows on my Mac, so I get two-in-one.

  • @DukeNukem2020 Actually I always thought Mac was good up until the OS X. Oh and you can install Mac on your Windows machine (or linux)

  • @Ticomfreak I know that a good computer like a Vaio could probably run Mac, but what about those cheap-ass Acers you find at Wal Mart? I just didn't think a bargain bin laptop would run Mac.

  • @DukeNukem2020 Run Mac? That doesn't make sense. Just saying.

  • @DukeNukem2020 The brand has nothing to do w/ the quality. and those actually can it's just going to take slightly longer to boot because it has to simulate EFI from BIOS. the minimum specs for OS X is 1GB of RAM I believe.

  • @Ticomfreak So you're saying a cheap $200 Acer laptop from Wal*Mart is just as good as a $1000 Sony laptop? You're stupid. I'd prefer the Sony 'cause Acers are crap. I like to get my moneys worth when I buy a laptop, PC or Mac

  • @DukeNukem2020 WTF? No I'm not saying that what I was trying to say is don't associate a brand w/ quality specs 'cause I bet you they also make cheap PC's now that aren't going to be well spec-ed. And it's also a little confusing here knowing what your talking about. And Acer makes high end gaming laptops.

  • @DukeNukem2020 Silly fanboy, Macs CAN'T run every PC game.

Bootcamp doesn't have OpenGL drivers and never will. There you have it.

  • @Toomuchtime5798 Have you heard of "Dual Boot"?

  • @DukeNukem2020 I used to triple boot Win7 Ultimate, Ubuntu, and Express Gate. When I get my boot SSD, I'm gonna' install Win7, OSX, Gentoo, Backtrack 5, and Ubuntu.

Dual booting has nothing to do with it. Mac does not support OpenGL, so it can't play every PC game like you said.

  • 4Life!!!

  • Macs a great because they cost 2x for less than 1/2 the power of the equivalent pc. 200$ laptop from 2001 is still faster than a 4000$ powermac g5 from 2005. Also put a equivalent of Linux on anything and it will run faster anyways

  • put ubuntu on your lenovo, and then compare it to the mac. but even then (as others have already pointed out) it is not even close to a fair comparison.....

  • LOL Mac retard

  • "your mac and your pc" dont compare "my pc and your mac

  • @Ticomfreak 2008 MacBook at those specs ran $1200, IdeaPad Z Series FROM that time ran $749-$900. ITS $300 DOLLARS DIFFERENCE! NOT $1600! Get you facts before you freaking comment.

  • "I LOVE my Mac"

These are computers... not people. Unless I missed someting and the Mac cult has gone this far.

  • @darxav: 4Life!! I love my  <3

  • you realize that playing the disc on insert is an option you can turn on? most of us turn it off because the majority of the time you actually Don't want it launch whatever program is on the disc. overall I like Macs more and more but has more to do with their distribution and licencing model

  • @HanaRosu probably for business purposes. and nice news on the mac ;)

btw, i use both mac and PC..

  • wtf you need to compare a PC of the same price range - otherwise I may as well compare a friggin dell xps with a netbook

  • When non-mac users bash against macs, it's 'cos they're jealous they will never be able to own one in their life.

  • @iTitaniumProductions I owned 1 and it broke in a week

  • pcs are better for games, macs are better for work and productivity, simple as that....no one gives a shit about start up time, sleep time, and dvd viewing.

  • These mac computer illiterates will spend over a grand on a Mac but would have never have spend that much on a PC. Imagine what high quality kick ass killer PC I would build with $2000 fuckin' dollars? It would be rapping the shit out of all the gay ass Mac's in the anus! You pay the price for your computer illiterates and Jobs has your stupid money! Computer wise folks don't buy store brands, we custom build them or buy Asus biotches!

  • you spent a lot of money on your mac(which been highly advertised as a better computer than pc because it's 'magic', they found no real reasons so they said it's 'magic') and now you're trying to convince yourself that worth it by convincing others in order for them to approve with you.

"There's no spoon, it's just you that you're moving !"(from the movie Matrix)

  • No one cares (but mac fags like you) about shut down times.

  • Your comparing a rip off $2000 computer to a $800 PC, honestly, you want the truth, get the same MSRP valued computers.

  • macs are made for old people like you, that dont understand 'high tech' stuff like pc that are just a little bit hard to use.

  • He's not testing speed/performance jerk-asses. He's demonstrating a difference in the ease of use, and the intelligence differences of each operating system.

  • @Rifalltoo you got to admit it worth paying twice as much money and not being enable to do anything with it to have it wake up faster. lolz

  • @TheWarlacozte worth having a secure system that works great for watching media, playing some games, editing movies, mixing music, and just about anything else you would want to use a computer for.

Please don't give me that crap about f-ing modern blowfare. I don't even like those games.

  • @Rifalltoo for watching media, playing some games, editing movies, mixing music, PC is good and just for that it is a good system to do so on.

  • @TheWarlacozte Not for me.

  • U dont compare an entry level of crap with a top of range macbook pro , if u compare gaming laptops with macs , youll realize the mac goes very short of performance.........

  • o wow ur comparing a $400 pc w/ a $2000 mac. compare a $2000 pc w/ a $2000 mac and then were talking

  • @Ticomfreak Actually, no, he should compare a machine with similar specs. Though I understand what you mean.

  • @Ticomfreak thats themistake people make al the time, macs arent that expensive and with that $2000 pc you have only the machine, not the software packages and stuf.. also you pay for the brand and everything is just made for each other. im still a pc user but soon i will get to a mac!

  • @123marijn321 yeah ok lets say that. You bought a $2000 PC at best buy pre-built and installed 7 on it already. MOST SOFTWARE ON WINDOWS IS FREE! and even the one's that do cost money, there is always a free alternative.

  • @Ticomfreak okay, maybe you will be a little cheaper BUT a pc will never run as smooth as a mac, my girlfriends father has a macbook for like half a year now, and the first error he got a week ago because there was something with AutoCAD, just rebooted and everything was fine. no need to search for help and it didnt get an error again!

  • @123marijn321 lol OK. a $2000 is a SUPER high end windows machine. Thats like saying android will never be as smooth as ios/WP7. of course it can, it just needs better specs (hence probably why windows usually has better hardware at cheaper prices is because it's a hella lot more powerful (which requires better hardware to run) than OS X WHICH can only run on like 10 different computers while windows is 89mil+. if you got that same error on windows though, you wouldn't even need a restart.

  • @Ticomfreak but you need to find the problem because it will probably happen again..

  • @123marijn321 LMFAO! thats like saying "My car ran out of gas, I need to find the problem again so it won't happen again" Do us all a favor, learn how to use a computer.

  • @Ticomfreak no thats total bullsh*t, its normal that a car runs out of gas, but it shouldnt be normal that a pc gets an error. if you get a blue screen of death, what will you do then?

you CAN compare it to a leek in the oil device or whatever you call it,(sorry for bad english im dutch) cause you need to fix that so it runs fine again,

    so say something now!

  • @123marijn321 I have yet to see a BSOD in the flesh. If it where to leak, fix it. but that wasn't what I was talking about. I was talking about if you used all your gasoline, not if it leaked.

  • @Ticomfreak the 13 inch macbook pro is not $2000 u idiot lmao xD and besides, if ur pc breaks, u will end up paying for all the freakin repairs which will be worth more money than when u buy a mac. If ur mac breaks u can just take it to the apple store and they will give u a new 1 for free and they can import all ur data from ur old mac to ur new 1. Mac OS X is better as a computer, when pc's r only good for games, thats it.

  • @Mnikita7cool right while its under warranty. Most PC manufacturers offer a warranty. Besides, Macs are programmed to break after a few years

  • @Mnikita7cool oh and PCS can DO more shit than a Mac. Did you know the government only uses windows computers? (And no this wasn't pulled out of my ass)

  • @Ticomfreak u clearly barely used a mac... I had a pc and now I have a mac, and other than games, there r much more advanced programs than on windows that u can get for free. Besides why should I care about the american government when im not even american?

  • @Mnikita7cool for every "advanced program" on Mac there is a windows alternative (except final cut pro). Also for every paid program for windows there is a free alternative. Oh, and I have used a Mac.

  • @Mnikita7cool Bitches don't know bout' Linux.

See, there's this really cool feature on a PC called installing any OS I feel like. For example, once I get my 80GB SSD boot drive, I'm gonna' install Windows, Mac OSX, Ubuntu, Gentoo, and Backtrack 5, all on the same computer.

The thing about those last three OSes is that they're based around being free, so they all have very powerful software... Absolutely free! Linux is in this fight and gives PC a huge edge.

  • @Ticomfreak Lol I can get a decent gaming computer for 600/700$, but I can get a mac that sucks at everything for 1000.

  • @Ticomfreak The mac the guy has is $1200. the $2000 macbook is a 21" behemoth, not the 13" this guy has. Typical PC nerdy-turd.

  • @DukeNukem2020 $2000 for only a 21"r? waaaaaaaow! that's full of fail.

  • You compare something with Vista? What the fuck is the matter with you?

  • Reason I hate mac users:

They compare their $2000 mac to a $600 PC. THEIR AFRAID TO GET OWNED BY THE PC.

  • @Gimmt61 I am trully confident that people like you are really really stupid. Yes, you may buy a super duper pc with 2000$. But you'll spend another 2000 on software. It's true macs are expensive, but you get for what you pay... Anyway.... before you open your mouth you should think a little bit.

  • @Gimmt61 I am trully confident that people like you are really really stupid. Yes, you may buy a super duper pc with 2000$. But you'll spend another 2000 on software. It's true macs are expensive, but you get what you pay for... Anyway.... before you open your mouth you should think a little bit.

  • @birsansilviulucian1 Let me take a look, I haven't spent a single buck on software. Also, if I need some software, I either get free ones, or I pirate.

  • @Gimmt61 And are u happy with yourself?

  • @Gimmt61 You never used a Mac in your entire life. You are jealous. You cannot afford to buy software but you afford to spend 2000$ on a pc. I mean it's your choice man. But keep in mind there are people who spend their money on software. Don't be a selfish bitch now....

  • @birsansilviulucian1 Give me ONE Reason why me, a 13 year old hardcore gamer, should buy a mac. There are none, because I'm an enthusiast, I like freedom when doing something with hardware/software.

  • @Gimmt61 well I respect that. But you should consider that most people use a playstation console for games.

You should consider too that I can install windows on my mac anytime with no trouble at all.

  • @birsansilviulucian1 But, you can't upgrade the hardware without not being able to go back to OS X.

And Apple were the ones to make it illegal.

  • @birsansilviulucian1

is that why nasa uses pcs?

pcs are better for both gaming and profession work. it's cheaper, and you can also install mac os x on your pc. sure you can install windows on your mac, but you you have to buy the mac first for 1000+

  • @Gimmt61, In order for them to get owned by PC. PC gets more RAM, better graphics, and a huge hard drive. PC wins like that. Along with the nice Windows 7 in there. We'll see with Windows 8.

  • @EduCamp96

    1. Macintosh computers are PCs.

    2. There are many PCs, like custom built ones, with much more powerful hardware and better casing.

    3. Windows 7 is great, with many features and high performance.

    4. You can't just say they are better. At least say what you like about them.

This is coming from a PC/Mac user.

  • is that a $400 pc and a $2200 mac which one will be faster the cheap one or expensive one go spend $1500 on a pc and it will start up faster than a$2200 mac you are so stupid

  • @EduCamp96 thats kinda sad coming from someone named educamp LOL

  • Did you spend as much money in your PC as your MAC.

  • typical macfags thinks that windows based computer is a pc.

a pc is something u can play games on watch movies or browse internet. It can be with OS X, windows, linux and mutch more OS. the hardware is almost the same (not shure if im right here) the mac computer use UEFI and all the other uses BIOS (soon the new laptops will be with UEFI)the UEFI system boots all devices parallell with eachother and BIOS is seriell booting system. so u that say "mac is better than pc" why? the mac is a pc

  • apearantly u have bought a old Toaster version of pc. u should buy a new pc that make's mac's look like a destroyd toaster.

  • vista=poop

  • @MrDarcyzPP lol you keep proving me right, really sad

  • @skaterguy1423 Vista still beats the living piss out of Mac OS. Mac OS is like a murderer with a good lawyer.

  • @MrDarcyzPP The fuck are you talking about? Some explanation would be cool, and even better if you've actually owned a mac.

  • Oh, you don't need a firewall on your mac? Good for you. That means that your applications are constantly calling out. I bet you didn't know that. Take a look at netstat.

  • I love Apple!!   

  • Comment removed

  • easier DVD viewing? Just put the fuck your DVD in your PC and it plays automaticly with Windows Media player! can't be easier! Shut-down time, waking up and i don't know what, is not about your OS but about your hardware.

  • @murdoch201 Mac OS is way better at freezing the computer than playing a DVD. That's a known fact. And once frozen you need to re-boot to get your DVD out of the goddumb computer. That's what OS X is good at. 10000 times better at that than PC.

  • @MrDarcyzPP Thats a known fact? lol what are you talking about fool?

  • your a fag the reason the pc was asking you loads of questions is because of all the crapware you've installed look at your icons in the corner!, PS i have a mac but your just retarded & the reason PC users think Mac users are retards the DVD settings can be changed + your too old to learn new things so obviously the simple thing is going to be better for you it doesnt mean its better both PC's and Macs have there good points.

  • @SuperReivan dude learn to get your point across without insulting the person, your too young to understand that obviously!

  • @SuperReivan Respect the older you fag.

  • @UnkownXatUser Respect the truth, you pedofile.

  • you could just do like i do and disable firewall completely, you don't even need an anti virus unless your a dumbshit that clicks shady links, and disable all un needed start items, should beat the shit out of the mac afterwards.

  • I would like to know, how much did cost your mac and your PC?

  • That's because you have a ton of background programs running. Just look at all those icons next to your clock!

  • LOL ! thats because ur pc is lame . cuz when i wakes up my pc , its instantly wakes up like ur mac . duh ..

  • @Lawliet1982 And will get a load of viruses after a year and take forever to boot up. Look, I was using windows ever since it first came out. Went through 3 desktops, including one I built myself. I'm also a gamer.

I finally decided to try and buy a Mac after my PC died. I'm never going back. My Mac after 10 months is still virus free, has had no crashes, and still runs like it was brand new. Plus my LED-backlit display is magnificent.

  • You're stupid

You just can't compare 800€ PC and 1800€ Mac

And mac's dont have bios to load, (that's what make them useless), and you have lot's of programs installed on PC (wich works only on PC and not on mac), wich make startup longer,...

  • @MrErjavec

oh, yea, cd reader on mac is slooooooooooooooooooow

but still mac have nice design

  • Pc is not made for dvd playback, if u want to watch dvd-s go and buy fucking dvd player!

  • @mdaljev1 If computers aren't made for dvd playback, why are they made with dvd players?

  • @oneironaut420 its not DVD Player, its DVD-ROM, only similarity between is that they use the same media (DVD-ROM, DVD Disk)...

  • @mdaljev1 Okay, then why include a DVD-ROM if they don't want you to put DVD's in it?

  • ummm comparing what seems to be a brand new mac book to an old ass lenovo. Yea thats fair. Maybe if you knew more about computing power and tasks in general you would understand why Apple only controls roughly 12 percent of the market...hmmm food for thought.

  • @87168 they all are from 2008, i believe.

  • @SquickenX that lenovo looks ancient.

  • @87168 from what i've seen, thats generally what lenovo's look like. go to their site if you want, correct me if im wrong.

  • @SquickenX i really dont care...

  • @87168 If you understood more about UNIX, you'd know that OS X, like all UNIX derived OSes, is more stable and secure. For having such a small market share, Apple sells 66% of computers over $1000. Rather skewed, but it just goes to show that people would rather shell out money for an overall better computing experience than be bled dry over time with a product that gives them such headaches.

  • @oneironaut420 You right they are stable and secure ,but you are wrong about one thing I do understand UNIX. I use Linux Mint, PC-BSD , and Windows 7 on my HP/PC and have a DELL/PC Hackintosh. Both Linux, and BSD are free. Any one with half a brain can download a Linux distribution, and dual-boot it with Windows 7. It not much different as a Mac user run boot-camp so they can have Windows program. the big difference is you save 1,000 dollars. Or use vmWare, virtualbox, or Parallels for Linux.

  • @maw88ify Then why complain about small market share when the other OSes you mention have an even smaller market share than Apple? Of course, as more people use Linux over time, you might see it become a more competitive force, but as of now, it's either Windows or Mac for general users, and of the two, Macs offer more programs, support and bundles than Linux.

  • @maw88ify Again, you seem unable to see things from the point of view of a general user. Most people don't want to virtualize more than one OS or learn how to run OS X on a PC illegally. Just like people don't want to have to trick out and customize their refrigerators, adding their own shelves and figuring out ways to make it run more efficiently. They just want to use the product they bought and be done with it.

  • @oneironaut420 Really than why are there so many Mac users that use Parallels, and Boot-camp ? If Mac just did what people wanted it to than no Mac users would use any of that software, but the largest group of buyers for Parallels and vmWare are Mac users ...

  • @maw88ify Many people, like me, use Boot Camp in case they need to run certain Windows-only programs for work. Or they're hesitant about letting go of Windows completely, like I was at first. I don't HATE Windows, but after using both I feel that OS X is overall a better OS, and Windows compatibility is less and less of an issue as time goes on.

  • @maw88ify I have both but Windows will never be my primary OS again. I barely use it at all, it's just nice to have the option, especially since I tutor people in Windows. I'm an experienced Windows AND Mac user, But GENERAL users just want one OS that doesn't get in their way, and they wouldn't even know what virtualization is. Do you understand what I mean by "general users"? How many years have you used Windows and how many years have you used OS X?

  • @oneironaut420 What your telling me is if you are a Windows / general user, and you know that Mac OS can't run the software you use that you should not buy a Mac. Only smart people know to search keyword like "Run windows on a mac" on google, or youtube? You're tell me there is no way for an average user to find a video showing them how to run Windows on a Mac ? You said Mac was easy to use? Now your saying not all software works, and you have to be smart to run Windows software on a Mac.

  • @maw88ify Where did I say that there is NO way for an average user to find out out to run virtualization software? What I said was that the average user doesn't want to bother with all that. They just want to buy a computer and start using it. A lot of people have no patience for that sort of thing and they shouldn't have to do it. The OS they have should just work for them.

  • My parents don't want to learn how to use virtualization software; they just want the computer they have to work seamlessly and easily without worrying about viruses or constant alerts. As for software, some software exists only for Windows, and some only exist for Mac, but as time goes on, this is less and less of an issue. Which is why even though I have Windows, I never have to use it. I mainly have it for when I have to tutor and train Windows users. Makes sense, right?

  • @oneironaut420 That the same reason I use Linux Mint , and Windows 7 on my HP/PC Linux is "stable and secure"... Plus I have Windows if I need it... There is no difference between what I'm doing , and you're doing... The only big difference Linux Mint was free, and I saved a 1,000 dollars. Everything else in Linux I can just use Virtualization Parallels , vmWare virtualbox,WINE or just dual-boot..

  • @maw88ify That's fine. In fact, I'm very interested in using Linux myself. But most of the software I need exists only for Mac, the design and integration of OS X and its applications are fantastic, and the sturdiness and sleekness of the design is unsurpassed. I never paying more for great product that suits my needs so perfectly. And really, that's all one's choice of OS comes down to; what it is you need. Maybe if they come out with Final Cut Studio for Linux I'll try it... til then...

  • @oneironaut420 Maybe if the they come out with 3DS Max for Mac I'll switch, but until then I'll stick with Linux, and Windows... Why is it Mac users alway bring up Final Cut Studio? I mean is that the only software that exclusive to Mac that really makes it worth the money ? Just one program that hardly seems worth the money. Seeing how any averages user wont ever need to use Final Cut Studio. Windows has Avid, Adobe Premiere, and Sonny Vegas , the CS5 collection. I've heard this all before...

  • @maw88ify I never said Macs are ONLY for general/casual users. That's the point. If you want the power and if you want to customize and tinker, you can. But it's not necessary if you just want to use it for more basic things. It doesn't have to be one or the other. There are Mac versions of that other editing software, but FCP is Mac only, and like it or not, FCP is fast becoming the industry standard. I can get all these for the Mac, but not for Windows.

  • @maw88ify There are also really good productivity tools like Quicksilver that have no Windows equivalent. There are also less conflicts and crashes when the same company makes the OS, the software and the hardware. Again, I ask, how many years have YOU used a Mac that gives you such insight into it?

  • @oneironaut420 Quicksilver is the same thing as GnomeDo for Linux look it up... I use GnomeDo all the time...

  • @maw88ify Again, I'm not saying that Linux is bad, I'm saying that of the two major platforms, OS X and Windows, OS X is the better OS for me. When there is as much professional creative software in wide use for Linux, I'd love to give it a whirl. In case you didn't notice, this video was comparing a Macbook to a Windows PC. I don't need so many OSes virtualized on my Macbook taking up space. The only reason I have Windows on it is for my tutoring business.

  • @oneironaut420 This an old argument that I have heard before, but the same company that makes the OS, does NOT make all the software and hardware for Mac. Adobe makes CS5 for Apple, Maya 3D is made by Autodesk, and you yourself could make an app for Apple's app store. The Intel chips that are in Mac are made by Intel NOT Apple. Next you're going to tell me . "Apple is more environmentally friendly Apple " Like I said I heard this all before. I started using Apple when it was Apple II .

  • @maw88ify I didn't say that ONLY Apple makes software for Macs, just that the software that comes bundled with Macs, such as iLife, are integrated very smoothly, and even third party applications must be designed to integrate with OS X as well. Also, I'm well aware that Apple doesn't make the hardware itself but they do assemble the computers using more or less standard hardware pieces because they know what will best suit their own OS. So how long have you been using OS X?

  • @maw88ify As for the environment, are you saying that a chunk of recyclable aluminum ISN'T more environmentally friendly than the mercury, arsenic, BFR's and PVC's that are found in most other kinds of plastic notebooks? And why the chip on your shoulder? Even I don't have such a bitter attitude towards my least favorite OS, Windows. I simply think OS X is better and that Macs are misunderstood. No need for anger, it's just a computer.

  • @oneironaut420 CCFL backlights have been standard for at least ten years and are inherently mercury free. It would be an immediate RoHS fail if there was mercury. aluminum recyclable just as plastic is recyclable, but lets look at all the packaging waist on Apple products they put boxes inside boxes... My iPhone, and iPod both had plastic in the packaging. I'm not anger at all, but you like all Mac users are just try to justify your purchase.

  • @maw88ify Dude, EVERY company uses packaging like that. It's paper and cardboard, totally recyclable. I was talking about the computer itself, and yes, computer manufacturers have increasingly had to become more eco friendly. Apple seems to have been ahead of the curve in that regard. But that's not why I bought it or why I like my Mac. I was just addressing your point. At any rate, I don't need to justify my purchase. I'm just telling you why it works better for me.

  • @maw88ify You're trying to justify NOT buying a Mac, yet can't seem to do so with an antagonistic tone. Even though I feel that Windows is inferior and Linux isn't right for me, I'm not trying to tell you that you're stupid for not getting using OS X. You'll just have to live with the fact that people have legitimate, compelling reasons for using their Macs. Again, I wonder what your experience with OS X has been, if any.

  • Believe me, I used to be a Mac hater and flamed Macs whenever I had the chance. For years I was a Windows user, and would not even entertain the idea of buying a toylike hipster accessory like a Mac. I used to say ALL the same things that you've been saying. And you know what? I had barely even used OS X. When I eventually had to use a Mac and actually experienced what it was like, I was blown away. Now I'll never use Windows as my primary OS again, improved as W7 is.

  • This seems to be the case with most switchers... they didn't realize until they tried it out, and once they do, they rarely switch back. Those that do are simply too used to Windows and that's fine, but I rarely hear a longtime OS X user go back to Windows. Again, before you get all excited, that's RARELY, not NEVER. It's because of my Mac experience that I'm more open to and interested in using Linux itself some day when it better suits my needs. Till then, I'm 150% satisfied with my Mac.

  • @oneironaut420 apple sells 66% percent of computers over 1000 dollars...thats because macs start at 1000 dollars. doesnt take a genius to realize that that was a mute point. And if people preferred to "shell out money for an overall better computing experience" then why is Apple's market share so small. Apple has repeatedly stolen ideas (even in the mobile industry) and re-marketed them as their own. Do you really think the iPhone was the first capacitive touch screen phone Apps?

  • @87168 Every technology builds on what's come before. Microsoft only started using a GUI after Apple popularized it. As for computers over $1000, there are plenty of Windows computers in that price range too, even MORE expensive. Yet Apple still dominates that marketplace. If Apple made cheaper computers, then you would see their market share increase, but they don't for the same reason that BMW doesn't make cheaper cars. At any rate, Apple's market share increases each year.

  • @oneironaut420 you do realize you are stating the obvious right? for one Apple is king of marketing. Not innovation. that was my initial arguement. there are computers are there well over a 1000 that are running Win but the majority are significantly less then 1k. how many new macs out there are under 1k? none. Apple market share increases slightly every. yet still only holds i believe 10 percent worldwide. Linux and MS are still more dominant across multiple platforms

  • @87168 Apple doesn't innovate? You're in denial. Steve Jobs saw the innovation in Xerox's GUI concept and popularized it to the point that even Microsoft had to catch up. Apple also popularized the mouse, and did away with floppy disks when much of the world was still using them. They are constantly innovating the idea of what a personal computer should be, not for hackers, but for people who just want to get down to work.

  • @87168 Apple doesn't make cheap computers for the same reason that BMW doesn't make cheap cars. Of course the market share is smaller. Yet for the price, people still flock to Macs, more and more every year. Market share is not necessarily the truest indicator of innovation... BetaMax was a superior medium than VHS, yet it was crushed by VHS, and VHS in turn became obsolete itself.

  • @87168 For various reasons, Macs aren't the dominating force in computer NOW, but their market share increases and not because people are forced to use them like Windows users... but because of word of mouth from satisfied, pleased Mac users like me. I wonder... have you ever used OS X for any significant length of time?

  • Why compare hardware related stuff? You seem to be trying to show the comparison between how different platforms handle the given tasks. But given that they're on completely different hardware platforms it's very hard to make any real conclusion.

  • Lolololol no software on Mac lololol sarcasm Diffrent hard trolololol

    THIS - IS - GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And Rofl Comparing a Laptop

    Stupid idiots

  • Tell use how mutch RAM is in both, and how much both cost ...

I would bet money that the hardware , and the price of both laptop are not any where near the same ...

  • Did you know you can change the shut down time in Windows, and make it faster ?

It's easy to speed up Windows, and just because you don't how doesn't mean that it's can't be done... I can give you some links to some video's by 13 year old kids on how to make Windows start and shut down faster ... it's easy ...

  • @maw88ify The point is that we don't want to HAVE TO DO all that fidgeting around. Thats why People get macs: less time fidgeting and more time to do what you need/want.
