If you enjoy Eckhart Tolles 'philosophy' (for lack of a better word), check out Swami Krishnananda and U.G Krishnamurthy. Krishnamurthy's philosophy is really interesting.. it can basically be somed up in one sentence " I can not help you" which is what Eckhart Tolle is saying if you really pay attention. Basically.. its not a 'goal to obtain'. its something you already have, in this present moment. once you see it you will realise it was there all along

I don't understand some of the comments made here. I've learned about the ego and what causes our insanity from him. I only wish I would have had his books 40 years ago. I could have saved myself and others untold pain and heartache. It isn't really Buddism, he would not care to have his work associated with any one religion it is just universal truth.

Nice video, I have 2 books from him. Very interesting stuff, it's buddhism (or part of) explained in a clear way. It's very practical to see once own thought processes that keep you from simply living and enjoying the present. @joseph82069: you can be a Christian and also benefit from some of these buddhist teachings. I don't agree with everything that Tolle writes! but the things about the constant thinking are true and helpful. By judging so quickly and utterly you drive people away from God.

Sin is not because of what you think. You sin because you are a sinner, your not a sinner because you sin. It's our nature to sin, we are born into sin.

You're putting all your Faith on some 'thing', that is the figure of Christ. But in the world of things there is always duality, i.e. Christ vs non-Christ and so there is always some enemy that has to be overcome, or in Christian terminology, 'converted'. This goes on forever and there is no finality to it. Go beyond the figure of Christ, see into your own true Nature, which if you want to call Christ then fine but know that He is no different from you.
My faith is in Christ who is fully God and fully man. He alone paid the price for the sin we incured. It's not duality, this isn't good vs. evil...God verses Satan. God is Sovereign He is in control, He has always been in control. God is eternal, nothing or no one else is. Nothing happens without God allowing it or causing it.

I am 1/3 of the way through "A New Earth" but have stopped reading because it has come to my attention "The Power of Now" is a prerequisite to the fore-stated. I have already noticed the diminishing of my ego in only a few short days after reading 1/3 of the book. Although I have had thoughts similar to Tolles prior to reading, I think the book further validates and clarifies those thoughts. I truly believe Tolle is helping me understand oneness. Why not then just do away with sin (or our capacity for it)?
If sin is as you say so distastful to God, why not do away with it? Why go to the trouble to create a place of eternal toment? Torture seems the greater sin. Why not just destroy his creation -that would be more humane, more compasionate, more godly.

Eckhart said at the introduction of a session with him "I don't subscribe to any religion bit don't discount any of them". That makes more sense to me than to continue clinging to the conceptual God I was taught about at school.

If you enjoy Eckhart Tolles 'philosophy' (for lack of a better word), check out Swami Krishnananda and U.G Krishnamurthy. Krishnamurthy's philosophy is really interesting.. it can basically be somed up in one sentence " I can not help you" which is what Eckhart Tolle is saying if you really pay attention. Basically.. its not a 'goal to obtain'. its something you already have, in this present moment. once you see it you will realise it was there all along

Nice video, I have 2 books from him. Very interesting stuff, it's buddhism (or part of) explained in a clear way. It's very practical to see once own thought processes that keep you from simply living and enjoying the present. @joseph82069: you can be a Christian and also benefit from some of these buddhist teachings. I don't agree with everything that Tolle writes! but the things about the constant thinking are true and helpful. By judging so quickly and utterly you drive people away from God.

There is a way that seems right to a man(in your case a woman) but the end is the way of death. I'm assuming that you were a Christian??? Except a true Christian will never turn away from Christ. And actually you nor I can save anyone, we just present the truth of the gospel. I'm guessing the "cross/over" is death. No one dead talks to people on earth. It's appointed to man once to die and then the judgment. If you heard anything it would be an evil spirit.(demon)

When it's popular and when it's not. These days of post-modernism and new age beliefs, it's def not poular. Jesus is pleased when His word is proclaimed, it brings Him glory, whether you believe it or not. The seed of His word is sown, you won't forget it.. The truth can def be irritating because it forces you to make a decision...for it..or against it. And no decision is a decision against His truth. It also divides, seperating truth from error.

He did say to preach his Gospel, but there are different ways to do it. Being irritating on youtube has the opposite effect. Trust me, the best evangelism you can do is just being a good person and be a Christian at the same time. Lead by example. Words are empty, as any fool can talk. I've met inspiring Christians, you are certainly not one of them. As a matter of fact, I would say you're not Christian at all, in that you don't live or act like Jesus in any way

I'm commenting based solely on what I see , which is a man spending way too much time evangelizing on his computer (ineffectively) when he should be out helping the poor, by serving God by serving man. But Jesus did go around making friends with everyone didn't he? With tax collectors, gentiles, Romans, prostitutes. I don't question your desire to serve God, only your method, because turning people away from Jesus would probably upset him, yea?

The main reason Christians are hear is to proclaim the gospel. I do help at a food bank every week. But full bellies doesn't get people saved.They need salvation more than they need food. The method is tell people the truth.How else do you do that?? I can't be friends with every person I meet. Nor was Jesus. Truth divides. Because it exposes error and forces all who hear it to make a choice

Actually proclaiming the gospel is the best thing I can do, But you should never assume anything....I do help out at a food bank ministry every week...giving out food to those that really need it. We also give out school supplies at the beginning of every school year and gifts at Christmas.

But diverse circumstances have tought me something better. If you shall stay in your belief, thats fine. But please just stop trying to think, that you have the Truth for yourself. You're putting all your Faith on some 'thing', that is the figure of Christ. But in the world of things there is always duality, i.e. Christ vs non-Christ and so there is always some enemy that has to be overcome, or in Christian terminology, 'converted'. This goes on forever and there is no finality to it. Go beyond the figure of Christ, see into your own true Nature, which if you want to call Christ then fine but know that He is no different from you.

God is Sovereign He is in control, He has always been in control. God is eternal, nothing or no one else is. Nothing happens without God allowing it or causing it.

I am 1/3 of the way through "A New Earth" but have stopped reading because it has come to my attention "The Power of Now" is a prerequisite to the fore-stated. I have already noticed the diminishing of my ego in only a few short days after reading 1/3 of the book. Although I have had thoughts similar to Tolles prior to reading, I think the book further validates and clarifies those thoughts. I truly believe Tolle is helping me understand oneness. Tolle, you are a blessing to the humankind.

Through the teachings of Tolle and Vipassana, the pure meditation of Buddha, you can come to pure love for all beings, including yourself. This is the essence of all religions. To understand what Eckhart is saying, you understand God. You KNOW that the is no such thing as good and bad. Satan is in you just as Jesus is in you - only manmade thoughts.
There is no Sin.

It's not hard to understand when you can see how holy God is and sin and law breaking is an offense to a Holy God. He can't just wink and nod at sin, He must deal with it, it's serious. If sin is as you say so distastful to God, why not do away with it? Why go to the trouble to create a place of eternal toment? Torture seems the greater sin. Why not just destroy his creation -that would be more humane, more compasionate, more godly.

Jesus defeated sin at the cross and His resurrection. God will do away with sin and sinners and this present world. All in His time. You stand in judgment on God but you are just a person and not God. Which is worse? Sinful man rejecting God and the way He made to be forgiven, thru Christ. Eckhart said at the introduction of a session with him "I don't subscribe to any religion bit don't discount any of them". That makes more sense to me than to continue clinging to the conceptual God I was taught about at school.
