Heavenly Sword was awesome, not only that, your opinion is illformed and biased. If you have not played the game, then you have NO clue how it actually plays.
Heavenly Sword suffered from incredibly mediocre and dumbed down fight mechanics and was an interactive movie at best, not a game.
Don't even get me started on Enslaved and it's ridiculous hand-holding with the unfailable platforming and amazingly weak combat as well. Not even mentioning the massive framerate issues it had and the fact that to churn out the garbage they ruined a damn good story. Ninja Theory are the M Night Shyamalan's of the video game world.

@BlueRise85 Its a reboot. The game play is excellent. The point is, this is still better then Nero. The old Dante is too powerful to make sense as a primary hero. Plus its likely they need NEW fans. If they left it alone and all the old fans bought it, it might not be enough. So this way it should appeal to enough old fans( who aren't playing because of Dantes hair) and get some new ones because its more fun to play.
This is exactly the reason why I have no problem with it. Those who followed the series from 2001-now watched it change directors, change style, change controls. Change is not something that is alien to DMC. It's exactly what happened with 3. They overhauled everything from 2 (which was also an overhaul), it was a massive success and like you said they think they know what they are talking about but actually came in halfway so they don't.
Came up with good and simple mod for DMC 4! It would be only a change of 2 faces: Sanctus -> Tameem, Savior -> DmC-Dante. It may sound simple but scenes as this /watch?v=ohzTPPzDGzE plus kicking Sanctus-Tameem ass would be quite relaxing for those against NT-DmC

@SilentPhenomed LOL You backtrack again or you must Fail at Computer Programming. When you program a game to run at 30 FPS it DOES not run just as well as 60 FPS. You are putting less output on the Refresh Rate, Enemy Spawns, Total number of APM, etc.

You're being ignorant. First off, the whole point for this new DmC is so that the series gets fresh. It's getting stale and that was apparant at DMC4. Capcom is jumping on quick to make sure it doesn't become boring. Thus, there is a parallel universe with a NEW dante. Also, on your HS and Enslaved points....1:) HS's combat system was made with different mechanics in mind as opposed to DMC and 2:) Enslaved isn't a hack n slash. NT is good at presentation, that's what they are bringing to DMC

Ah it's too late now. Nothing we can do except not buy it. It might be good even if the art style is werid. So far it looks decent to me but the lack of enemy AI, the constant spam of air combat sans jumping off enemies, and the DT looks incredibly weak. It will probably be solid but not as good as the others. I'm predicting a 7.5 out of 10

@Tensho14 No real DMC fan cares about plot and character progression because literally everything about the games, excepting the fights, exists only to pad out the gameplay hours. You think DMC's godawful plot is actually worth exploring? Try reading a book sometime. No one is "afraid" of deeper development, but the REAL fans, who play near-exclusively for the combat (where the devs, too, spent the majority of their time), can accept the cutscenes for the campy, over-the-top jokes they are.

@Tensho14 it always felt to me like it shoulda stayed that awesome action/adventure/ horror .. i also think too many games use gore and splatterhouse settled that for me.. i feel the enemies should have a dark mysterious evil about them.. a demon feel so when you kill them as dante you feel like you are that badass demon slayer named dante who isn't afraid of the darkness of the demon world who knows his legacy and intends to live up to it..

@Tensho14 true.. i didn't care for dmc 4 plot either but neros devil arm made up for that and when it got to the point of playing as dante it felt stale cause i missed the devil bringer..i liked the horror style it used to have its why i can sit down and enjoy dmc 1 no matter how many times i play and beat it.. the story was simple and good and the game was good.. whether or not the whole series went down the horror path shouldn't have mattered..

@Tensho14 even then to continue from what i just said about the enemies... the creature in number 2 the skeletons in cages felt malevolent and evil.. the giant possessed building felt evil.. dante is a demon hunter a badass with a darkness dwelling deep inside, a darkness he uses to protect humanity like his father did.. demons have a darkness in them so why did hardly any of the demons in devil may cry 3 really not feel dark?

@Tensho14 But heres the deal. I rather have a faster nonstop experience then high pitched graphics any day. DMC has always been a fast paced game with less graphics AND IT WORKED. 30 fps is way to slow for a game like this in all honesty.

Heavenly Sword suffered from incredibly mediocre and dumbed down fight mechanics and was an interactive movie at best, not a game.
Don't even get me started on Enslaved and it's ridiculous hand-holding with the unfailable platforming and amazingly weak combat as well. Not even mentioning the massive framerate issues it had and the fact that to churn out the garbage they ruined a damn good story. Ninja Theory are the M Night Shyamalan's of the video game world.

@BlueRise85 Its a reboot. The game play is excellent. The point is, this is still better then Nero. The old Dante is too powerful to make sense as a primary hero. Plus its likely they need NEW fans. If they left it alone and all the old fans bought it, it might not be enough. So this way it should appeal to enough old fans( who aren't playing because of Dantes hair) and get some new ones because its more fun to play.

This is exactly the reason why I have no problem with it. Those who followed the series from 2001-now watched it change directors, change style, change controls. Change is not something that is alien to DMC. It's exactly what happened with 3. They overhauled everything from 2 (which was also an overhaul), it was a massive success and like you said they think they know what they are talking about but actually came in halfway so they don't.

You're being ignorant. First off, the whole point for this new DmC is so that the series gets fresh. It's getting stale and that was apparant at DMC4. Capcom is jumping on quick to make sure it doesn't become boring. Thus, there is a parallel universe with a NEW dante. Also, on your HS and Enslaved points....1:) HS's combat system was made with different mechanics in mind as opposed to DMC and 2:) Enslaved isn't a hack n slash. NT is good at presentation, that's what they are bringing to DMC

Ah it's too late now. Nothing we can do except not buy it. It might be good even if the art style is werid. So far it looks decent to me but the lack of enemy AI, the constant spam of air combat sans jumping off enemies, and the DT looks incredibly weak. It will probably be solid but not as good as the others. I'm predicting a 7.5 out of 10

@Tensho14 No real DMC fan cares about plot and character progression because literally everything about the games, excepting the fights, exists only to pad out the gameplay hours. You think DMC's godawful plot is actually worth exploring? Try reading a book sometime. No one is "afraid" of deeper development, but the REAL fans, who play near-exclusively for the combat (where the devs, too, spent the majority of their time), can accept the cutscenes for the campy, over-the-top jokes they are.

@Tensho14 also i sit down just recently and played dmc 2 as dante.. and by mission 4 i was like well this isn't bad at all just it feels like dante is overpowered with his guns alone.. the gameplay isn't bad too.. i don't know where people got that idea.. the feel of the game is similar to the first and the demons are kinda malevolent feeling.. and dante looks older and more focused rather than making puns.. hes grown up and became more serious about his duty.. i like 2 pretty well..

@Tensho14 it always felt to me like it shoulda stayed that awesome action/adventure/ horror .. i also think too many games use gore and splatterhouse settled that for me.. i feel the enemies should have a dark mysterious evil about them.. a demon feel so when you kill them as dante you feel like you are that badass demon slayer named dante who isn't afraid of the darkness of the demon world who knows his legacy and intends to live up to it..

@Tensho14 true.. i didn't care for dmc 4 plot either but neros devil arm made up for that and when it got to the point of playing as dante it felt stale cause i missed the devil bringer..i liked the horror style it used to have its why i can sit down and enjoy dmc 1 no matter how many times i play and beat it.. the story was simple and good and the game was good.. whether or not the whole series went down the horror path shouldn't have mattered..

@Tensho14 even then to continue from what i just said about the enemies... the creature in number 2 the skeletons in cages felt malevolent and evil.. the giant possessed building felt evil.. dante is a demon hunter a badass with a darkness dwelling deep inside, a darkness he uses to protect humanity like his father did.. demons have a darkness in them so why did hardly any of the demons in devil may cry 3 really not feel dark?
