Garry's too 'clean' for politics. Politics is a very dirty and dangerous game. He's simply too decent a man. If ever he attained to national power he'd have to deal with some very dark characters. Realpolitik would inevitably require him to compromise his own high standards of probity b/c Russian politics is pure gangsterism. I speak more than one language and so I can contest that when speaking in a second or third language, it is not just vocabulary tht u might struggle with, but also in understanding the correct tone of the words u are using, eg understanding that there is a difference between the words "sex" and "f*ck", or "defeat" and "kick ur ass" - which foreign ppl might use innocently in polite or high-brow conversation after learning it in a film.
