Also many of his solos are during singing parts, which makes them harder to play. Jason White is a full-fledged band member and is the lead guitarist of Foxboro Hot Tubs, a Green Day side project.

Billie still plays solos these days too, usually older ones but some newer ones too (like he plays one in live versions of minority and American idiot)

Billie doesn't even play the solos, he played the old ones like 1,039/Smooth and Kerplunk! but all solos now are played by Jason White.

Dude, Jason Whit more than helped him out, he actually PLAYS most of the solos.
It dosent look good on a band where they're only official guitarist can't play the recorded solos live

@Matthewtheitalian You're dead wrong. The only reason that Billie Joe doesn't play the recorded solos is because he's too busy fuckin around with the audience and having fun. Also many of his solos are during singing parts, which makes them harder to play. Jason White is a full-fledged band member and is the lead guitarist of Foxboro Hot Tubs, a Green Day side project.

@Matthewtheitalian green days concert in milton keynes was voted one of the best shows ever and mainly because of how amazing billie joe can manipulate an audience, i doubt anyone can play solos whilst pulling off an amazing show like that

themalicherto, not Wake me up when September ends, and holiday. He does though, actually play most of them during concerts. Billie Joe is good at being a rythym guitarist and I think they should make Jason a full fledged band member

@themalachijethro Yeah that almost kinda pissed me off when I first saw a new guy (Jason) on stage with green day, I used to think it was so amazing how much damn sound just the three of them put out, but what can you do, at least they still only have 3 offical members.
