  • The dad ruined my life. They glorified acid now I'm schitzophrenic.

  • @instantkarma257 try it again mite fix it cant hurt

  • Like to point out that with twice the number of players, The Dead achieve the same degree of precision as Credence. And yet they are improvising all over the place. Truly one of the great bands.

  • This one goes out to my boy Bob Wainer..."lol

  • where did this music go there is nothing like it anymore i guess it is good that we can still listen to the origonals greatful dead changed the world and now americas youth thinks that rap is skill.... they have no idea.

  • like the morning sun you come and like the wind you go, wow...

  • we want the 70ies back :-)

  • I am so glad there is still music like this out here. Thank you Family Dog Band for picking uo the torch when it was handed to you. It's wonderful to hear the spirit in a band again after endureing the years of sloppy tribute bands.

  • thank you on so many different levels thank you more than you will ever know thank you I will never forget you, thank you I wish everyone all over the world could hear this the way I do thank you so much for everything you have done for me.

  • Uncle John's Band!

  • Uncle John`s Band!

  • It's impossible to make music LIKE the grateful dead,

without ripping them off, entirely. D:

  • i smoked spice (dmt) to this song and it told me things......

  • Knocks me out!

  • The Music Never Stops. Therefore the Dead music will always fill the air...

  • 31 years ago,,,where does the time go........

  • Superlative band!

  • The grateful dead, cold medicine, and pain killers do not mix. all I can think about is eating...a cat..

  • It's no fair, Jerry Garcia died the year of my birth

  • What is that weird sounding instrument in the background of this song? I've been trying to find out for years. It almost sounds like a creaky floor or door.

  • @markuscc Its a fucking organ you dumb peice of shit. You've seriously been trying to figure that out for years? What do you think, that theirs some guy playing a strange exotic instrument in the background? NO. The Grateful Dead in this video IS. Jerry-Guitar. Bob-Guitar. Phil-Bass. Mickey and Billy-Drums, and Brent-CREAKY FLOOR (AKA Keys)

  • @shorthopper88 That organ is still playing a sample of something else you fucking retard. Whatever it is is in all kinds of songs by all kinds of different bands.

  • @shorthopper88 It's a guiro. Search for it on youtube, there is a ton of videos of people using it. You can't really hear it that well in this version of the song but on the album it's quite loud.

Now go watch some american gladiators you fucking white trash kid. You don't have to take out your fat anger on non deserving youtube people who are asking a simple question.

  • SOME CLASSIC SHOTS OF JERRY AS WELL AS SOME CLASSIC PLAYING FROM JERRY.RADIO CITY WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST PLACES THAT I EVER SAW THE DEAD PLAY IN,WITH THE BALCONIES AND THE CEILING (WHICH ON THESE NIGHTS WAS VERY,VERY PSYCHEDELIC) AND CASEY JONES ENCORE AT 1:30 IN THE MORNING THEN WALKING THE STREETS OF N.Y.C THEY ARE SOME MEMORIES THAT YOU CANNOT PUT A PRICE ON, BUT I REALLY REALLY MISS THEM.

  • @Hokiepokie, us musicians have a simple rule, when you have mastered it you can criticize it. How many people have followed you for the past 40 years?

  • Perhaps the finest lyrics in the universe are "all I want to know is are you kind".

  • My Father wishes there was still music like this evryone is so into metal and pop also rap .MY Dad way BORN TO BE A GRATEFUL DEAD MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sweet and simple....just as I remembered it.

  • Jerry definately put the brakes on in the end...explosive jam!

  • I was in the 2nd balcony, the best Halloween ever.

  • Considering we were doing acid, mushrooms and peyote when I saw the Dead, the sync problem doesn't bother me at all. Looks right, actually.

  • Their catchiest song, in my opinion.

  • Good Old Grateful Dead.

  • Definitelya favourite Dead song of mine...Bob is fantastic in this, as always!

  • Oh so many memories... always a dead head tye dye hippie in my good vibed soul!

  • @redpower667

    There is.

  • @redpower667 because acid isnt legal my man

  • @redpower667 because there aren't bands like the Dead anymore

  • @redpower667 because Jerry is dead and nobody else comes close.

  • sing it jerry forever

  • crack coke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get me a time machine please!!!!!!!!

  • Where does the time go???? I was 21 and at this concert, although I remeber mostly accoustic. I remember Franken and Davis opened the show each night, who knew he'd be a douche bag Senator then. Went to like 5 out of 7 or 8 shows. I'll never forget those days. Miss ole Jerry!

  • Who the hell gives thumbs down to the greatest live band to ever walk onto a stage? Jeez

  • Robert Hunter is one of the greatest lyricists around. I love that the good ol' GD included him as part of the band when they were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

  • wow how did 14 idiots dislike this!

  • @WoodStock757

There's always 14 idiots. Been that way since time began. In fact, it's the same 14 idiots. They're immortal. Until the day of reckoning, of course, when they must pay up their idiot bill. And it's a whopper.

  • @bootytoot So because 14 people dont hit the like button they are Idiots?

I happened to like the song.

So does that make me "Cool"

It seems your thought process makes you idiot number 15!

  • @Phishphantom

Chill out, little brother. My comment was in response to Woodstock's post, which you seem to have missed. His point was not that the 14 idiots in question didn't hit the "like" button, but that they hit the "dislike" button. Yes, that's their prerogative, but if you haven't noticed, there is a shit-ton of people posting on Youtube for no other reason than to trash the music other people like (even if they don't actually dislike it) just to stir shit. Especially against the Dead.

  • @bootytoot

Right on ! Let's call them Trolls :)

  • I have spent a little time today just wandering through the videos of the boys....as many shows as I have attended; I still feel like I missed something special every time I see a video like this from one I wasn't at....

  • @craismith do not blame weed for your buddies cancer, unless the doctor determined it was from that since as many as 15,000 Americans die each year from lung cancer even though they have never smoked. If never-smokers’ lung cancer were a separate category, it would be among the top 10 most lethal cancers in the country, ranking somewhere near ovarian cancer.and as far as Lady Gag Gag I would rather pour acid into my eyes than have to look at her or go deaf than hear her music

KISSES!!

  • @craismith ....ive read some previous comments and found out you like lada gaga right? Lada gaga cant preform. only reason she is famous is because shes half naked all the time. plus all her music is made in a recording studio. THIS IS A LIVE VERSION AND IT SOUNDS FUCKING AMAZING.

P.S. seriously not all "drugs" are even bad. weed is fucking spectaular

  • @Billsfan18 yeah but she sure looks good half naked don't she!!!! and as far as weed being "fucking spectacular", tell that to one of my good freinds that died from lung cancer as a direct result from smoking weed!! and no, he didnt smoke tobacco! just my opinion dope fiend. KISSES!!
