Leave the communications business to the private sector. We don't need this industry going BK, too and then being taken over by the Feds. Get out of our way and we'll do just fine. At 3:40 he should have just left it at that.
Another Post Office or DMV or Medicare or Medicaid. God help us.
Why is connecting all Americans the job of the federal government? Socialism is here and those of us who actually produce something of value will once again have our pockets picked.
This is the new face of totalitarianism, a kind faced technocrat who speaks the policy gobbledy gook of the social scientist, while he bankrupts our country. Screw him and his ilk
The Govt needs to get out of private sector business. They just want to control the web like China. This is a stealth program to spy on and control political dissidents on the web.
The FCC destroyed network television and terrestrial radio, they should be ashamed. As for expanding broadband, go for it, we're already behind the other industrialized nations...
GEEE SOOO BORING ~!!!!! I will never ever listen or watch this kind of boring TV show, I will flip my remote in heart beat ~!!! I want to watch a movie or reality show.
No problem. Didn't Verizon put fiber optics tubes (FiOS) on almost every telephone pole in the U.S. already?
That stuff is rigged for 1000 Megs per second.
It's ALREADY ALMOST everywhere, now it's just a matter of the idiots who still think the 60 year old cable tv wire will handle their own uploads and downloads to get it in their heads that they're using old rusty technology.
Everything sounds reasonable enough, except for the fact that upload speed was never mentioned. In general, this shouldn't be a problem, but if the FCC doesn't also put a minimum for it, Telcos will be able to cripple the upload speed so that the download speed will never get above a certain point.
Maybe when someone can explain why we all had to pay for $40 coupons for digital boxes that cost 10 dollars to get them to the store. Who was getting paid off, and for what. Not one emergency service person, or cop, I know can explain the "needed frequencies".
There is nothing coming out of Wash that we can trust anymore. It's all agenda's.
VOTE EM ALL OUT IN 2010. At least it will slow them down, while they start pretending they represent us again.
Lol. So now this socialist "broadband for all" has an official capital letters title and Executive Director huh? ...great. Now, on top of all the other benefits of the welfare state, you get FREE BROADBAND if you're poor. WTF? Democrats now think broadband is a right too?? Why can't they at least settle for free dialup? It's not like you NEED to download big files and watch youtube all the time.

Life is a one way street with no passing lane;
while your looking for an exit,you can go insane
Or you can just act dumb, and write notes to me;
but that won't clean up all the loose debris
Our time has run out, and it's too little too late;
it all fell apart when we were forced to integrate
Now the lights are out,and the water's all gone;
all the niggers sit around and smoke crack & yawn
But the facts are clear,that you can't ignore,
better men then you- are fighting your war

One problem is the Comcast's bandwidth blocking. This should be reported to Congress.
