Indie is a completely different state of mind and idea of life than being a hipster, the creativity and pure natural talent of indie bands is simply unrivaled by anything else.We NEVER forget indie, that first time you heard deathcab in 6th or 7th grade.when passions pits electrics matched those of something only found in your heart, you knew it was love. well....when I was 13 I began being "emo" but when I was 15, I grew out of it and started dressing the way I thought was nice... and the day came when a number of people calld me indie and hipster...I dident know what they were talking about, and to be honest I dident know what it was. I looked it up. And what do you know...my attitude too mainstream culture, music and clouthing was exactly like a "hipster".but when thing that differs is I'm NOT being ignorant and Hate on stuff, what am I then?

(: I actually do love a lot of the "indie" or "hipster" culture like the music, art, and clothing but not because I think it makes me superior or because it's "hip" but I just like it. I feel like people who like to dress that way or listen to indie bands get bad raps as hipsters when they really aren't. I've been called a hipster before as an insult which is really strange to me. Why do they get so much hate?

@xxdramaXloverxx It's the bad attitude that *many of them have, but certainly not all (and I've come to realize that saying *most do is too much of a generalization/stereotyping). Because *so many do, the consensus builds, and a general dislike and even hate builds up against them. I may not like the style that is being a hipster, but I have as much respect for it as any other lifestyle choice. Whether it's juggalo, goth, prep, whatever. I don't like to hate; it increases world suck.
