That statement proved to the entire world that you do not deserve to exist, in fact, I will go so far as to say because of that comment your parents do not deserve to exist for raising you. You need to learn some good music. Im sure you are one of those people that think the Rolling Stones are good...
Thats the worst part about worship teams at Church. There's always way too many people on stage, and there's always some lady in the back that's completely tone deaf singing back up vocals.
@singular23 you can believe whatever you want - you can worship bananas, or angels if you want. nobody has to prove anything, it's just more logical to prove what you believe. I think that the kalam-cosmological argument by william lane craig reasonably proves the existence of God - that's why i'm a believer - you can believe whatever you want, you just have to live with your decision if you're wrong.
According to actual interviews by the men themselves in the Beatles Anthology DVDs, they were folowers of the Maharishi Yogi and practiced Transcendental Meditation. The word "hindu" was never used. "Jai Guru Deva" is a sentence fragment in the Sanskrit language which means, "victory to God divine."
John Lennon held to a number of different spiritual philosophies throughout his life - which is why a lot of his quotes and lyrics seem to contradict each other.
"Jai Guru Deva" as far as Iam aware is just a complete made up couple of words. I cant remember where I read this but I will and Ill post the link for it. i think it was Yoko in an interview
After posting this I researched it and nobody has yet to come up withe correct answer or at least one that people seem to agree on so "Jai guru deva" is not a hindu god my friend. In fact Ive not read that one yet although there is a hindu influence clearly in it but I specificly remeber somebody close to John answering and the answer gave insights into Johns songwtitting too with mre made up words. And the "OM" bit is meant to be the noise the world makes in its vibrations it sends out
actually he wasnt an atheist at all, if you listened to help me to help myself you would realise that, or read the interview he gave with playoy in 1980, google it, you would see he was not an atheist at all. he believed in god, just questioned organised religion, and explored everythin, thats not an atheist
still a very spiritual man, the phrase j'ai guru deva om was taken from a sanskrit given to john by the maharishi mahresh yogi. it meant a lot to him, so that's why he wrote the song - it doesn't mean he was religious.
plus, "Imagine" was written in 1971, "Across the Universe" was written in 69 or 70. People change their opinions often.
Dude you got some mad vocal skills, I love what you did from like 2:20 and on, mixed up the original a bit and the bongos make it awesome.

"You can never be an athiest unless you can Prove the non existence of a God"
But you can be a religous person / beliver without proving the existence of a god?
singular23 3 years ago 4
Religion has a thing called"faith" which means it doesnt have to prove anything as it is faith based, how can athiesm be faith based? it cant.
Unless you can have faith in nothing?
