This was the first time I've seen that play since I watched it from the opposite side in the stands. I'm relieved that my memory of Woerner holding his leg while he was rolled over wasn't an embellishment but was actually as it happened.
My dad met Eddie in 81 & he was nice enough to give my dad 2 personalized autographed 8x10's for me & my brother, which I still have. I wish there was more college footage of him, especially the infamous GT/AF game. If anyone has any other footage aside from this game, please contact me on my Utube acct/email.
What a great talent & a nice man who blew out his knee (ACL,MCL) on the 3rd carry (24yds) of his pro career in the 79 season opener w/GB @ Soldier Field (artificial turf). FF to GB's season opener in 81 vs. Chicago@ Soldier Field again. He ends up blowing out the same knee (ACL,MCL) midway thru the 3rd quarter on his 14th (72yds, 1 TD) & final carry of that season. One of his best days as a pro was in 80 (GB @ MINN @ the old Met), where he gained 145yds. Get that game. I own it myself too.
well...I now know which team to cheer for when they meet- go GT

My dad went to high school with "Ed Lee Ivery", that's the name his classmates call him. They are still friends today.
