  • Sounds fake... the sound of the organ at the end doesn't match the rest of the recording...

  • lol what happened to the organ/organist?

  • why did they even aplause lol!

  • Hallelujah -- a new deceptive cadence!

    (pace cjmythrandir)

  • Wait.... wait.... that is EXACTLY the same tune, to the very note and letter, in a different video on YouTube, allegedly of a different bad organ. Obviously ONE (or BOTH) is a complete hoax!

  • @DDunker51 I doubt it's a complete hoax, but I'm sure there is more than one recording of this performance out there.

  • Be quiet... maybe no one noticed.

  • What if this was at the Royal Wedding.

  • I cringe every time. Then I laugh.

  • I love how the choir was trying to match the Organ hehe Too Funny!!!

  • It sounds so freaking evil, hahahahaha

  • @stevensonbak ...and on the word "Hallelujah". It's just too perfect.

  • This makes me crack up!

  • If that ex-organist is still looking for a job they could always be a butcher!

  • Hmmm.... He accidentally hit the -1 transpose button on the pipe organ. Respect.

  • That was just the Puff Daddy Remix. It was supposed to sound that way..

  • I once botched a C major chord....... that I was trying to stretch over three octaves with both hands, with the manuals couples and all the stops puller- on a tracker organ. It made a frightful discord. Afterwards someone asked "What key was that?" I said "All of them"

  • Now, now, that wasn't a mistake -- it was the Messiaen arrangement of Händel's Messiah!

  • ...and that is why you always pay your organists.

  • WTF is the organ doing?

  • Whenever I feel stressed out or down, I just listen to this video =)

  • @dontwantnofritos I'm glad it brings you such relief :-)

  • Props to the singers for keeping their key during that.

  • LMAO

  • I almost choked to death watching this! X-D

  • who ever made this has a great sense of humor.

  • it wrong part actually sounded more right to me than wrong.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL That was funny LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • the rock n roll version ending

  • I know this is unappropriate here, but... wtf?

  • The only thing that makes me say the sound has been dubbed is the fact that the Choir stay in D Major and ignore the new key. That, and no organist would keep playing the wrong chord on the last few minims.

  • Nasty

  • i think it's a beautiful sound - very ives-ian!

  • I love this. I like to hear a good screw up, especially in the way too serious world of classical music (I generalise of course). And in the way society is too seriously designed around winning (I generalise again, of course). I respect failure. I don't laugh AT it, it's just funny (in the end ,-) Both sides of the coin.

  • @Nowisnu nice perspective you've got. respecting failure...its kind of like embracing the fact that you're human, and you make mistakes. i guess im kinda the same way, i like to hear a screw up, maybe mostly because i like to know its actually them playing and not a recording, but then thats more prevalent in pop music than anything else. i wonder if any classical musician has ever pulled a milli vanilli :P

  • But if you've played the first chord transposed, why even risk the last couple of chords! Just let the choir finish on their own!

  • OHH!! GOD!

if the organist had finished in a complete tones scale and shouted ''in the name of jazz!!!''

    I could say: :O genial!

but... pfff this is a suicide mistake...

    mis condolencias para el organista

  • Arnold Schoenberg would be proud

  • That HAS to be be superimposed.....

  • Thanks for posting. I am sure his blood pressure went up 50 points when he realized what he had done. We could say this was a "memorable" performance!

  • Aaahahahahahahahahaha rofl!!!

  • I feel sorry for him. Instead of pressing the rite general he hit the transpose button instead! ;(

  • Oh poor organist!

  • It sounds like horror music...

  • I feel so sorry for the organist. This is every musician's worst nightmare. Bet he probably didn't hang around for an encore

  • asdasdasd laaoallolololol WTFFFFFFF this piece of crapp ahhahahaha is funny as hell.... and the people even applause !! WTF hahahaha

  • OMG THE ORGANIST DIED WHILST PLAYING THIS PIECE

  • Polytonality for the win! If Copland write this piece in his early period . . .

  • This is the funniest video in existence

  • i thought what is this shit at the beginning, then heard the organist play those chords. That is hilarious.

  • LMFAOOO!!!

  • 0:26 A crack splits down the middle of the choir and Satan, wings spead, summoned by the organ of doom, rises from hell to wreak havoc and destruction upon the world.

  • Serves them right for using an electronic organ. Real organs don't transpose!

  • The only way to get out of that is to improvise a blues scale run until you find the right key!

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAAHAAAAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol that was great!!!

  • psh, that was just a very very deceptive cadence ....

  • @cjmythrandir - there are deceptive cadences, and then there are DEVIOUS cadences!

  • @casalsfan this was possibly THE most devious of them all !

  • @cjmythrandir Ha ha. You made me laugh out loud.

  • @loydsheryl ^-^

  • The hesitation before the applause-- Priceless!

  • how you manage to do this at such a perfect moment. The epic ending. one tiny chirp is like the warning, and then HELLelujah!

  • @moviesmyway haha that made me laugh!!!

  • Organist defeats depression at 0:35

  • Evil transpose knob!

  • That's a gorgeous church.

  • Maybe no one noticed.

  • @Reggiano one of the funniest comments on y tube

  • @Reggiano

    hahahaaaaa!!!!

    maybe! :)

  • I like how there's a small short note at 0:27 like it's saying "And here's the shit stopping last seconds!"

  • WTF?That sounds like a cat in a cuisinart.

  • @Capcoor Hahaha!

  • Oh dear, this person will have nightmares for the rest of their life.

  • I haven't laughed this much in ages! Poor guy

  • lol.... at least the leading tone at the end sounds kinda cool..

  • It sounded like he decided to improvise the ending.

  • @greenspacesforever Yeah, that's a reharmonization of the chords ;-)

    -Friedrich

  • I laugh EVERY TIME I watch this,it's brilliant!! :)

  • Well, you're only as good as your last gig! LMAO

  • Haha! The mess up kinda forced the song to sound like it was in a super minor key. haha. that was great.

  • very nice pictures

  • @predvcecerom Thanks, those were taken on a trip to Germany and Austria

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol awesome

  • What would have been unbelievably great is if the choir had adapted and changed the key along with the organist! And for the record, there is no such thing as a "quarter" step on an organ. Its either a full step or a half step.

  • @SMFCPA Yeah,this ain't India!

  • i spit out milk from my cereal as a cause of laughing too fucking hard at this

  • It actually started to sound like a horror movie...lol

  • LOL this was so epic i just had to clap at the end!!!

  • It's unfortunate that we've become so PC in today's musical realm that even when something so doesn't deserve being applauded, it will get applauded anyway.

  • It'd be my lucky day, to die laughing in a church :)

  • that must've suucked

  • Lol this is hilarious!

  • I was waiting for someone to shout "Ah~~~~ Phantom!!!", follow with "In sleep he sang to me..."

  • The choir preformed beuatifully...but my spellin not so much xD

  • HAHAHA lol I loved it !

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I'M IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe that a church organ has a transpose button, but that's how it sounds. That has happened to me when playing in open air: a gust of wind blew my score away and I made a move to resque it, and accidentally hit the transpose button, with a very similar result! Happily no one was there to make a recording!

  • OMG!!! Funny as $%#%$#!!!!!!! LOL, LOL, LOL!!!

  • Annnnnnnnd... your fired. Talk about a way to completly kill a buzz

  • well at least they finished in tune. :)

  • soundtrack for the 2012 apocalypse

  • He was possessed with a demon at the moment he failed.

  • I prefer it.

  • listen at around 0:21 you can hear the organist is having some sort of severe issue already. I wonder what the problem is

  • @TheVOC I think they hit the transposer button at around 0:21 and tried to fix it before the ending and just couldn't get it in-time. you can hear the organist trying to fumble with it right before the major part, he should have just not played...but his brain was thinking at lightning speed and in that time it just picked the wrong decision.

  • .....maybe he was going for dissonance? (probably not)

  • *clap(?)*

  • FYI, a lot of organs have a "transpose" button that immediately bumps it down or up a half step/quarter step. It sounds like the organist bumped that button and didn't have a free hand or foot to reset it until the damage was done..... REALLY done!

  • @squeekjudd -- I agree, it sounds exactly like that's what happened. I once forgot to reset the transpose and when the pianist joined me....yikes it was ugly!

  • @whundt Even if that were the case, which I'm not quite sure is, those don't sound like major chords, and the organist should have corrected him/herself sooner.

  • @jacobflaschen Ya you're write. At least a few of them aren't.

  • never mind all that...it sounds like the organist is playing with flippers!!

  • @squeekjudd thats only assuming that the organ is digital.... if it were to be a pipe organ.... there would not be a transposse function present at all......except for the player physically transposing the music

  • @brawdster1

I am an organ builder and our continuo organs have transposers, so it is not only digital organs that have them

  • @brawdster1 I am an organ builder and our continuo organs have a transposer, so it's not only digital organs that have them

  • @squeekjudd No organ goes up or down a "quarter" step. Its either a full step or a half step.

  • @squeekjudd Sure it's not the desired sound, but organist solved at the last chord, so it 's a kind of "multidominat" chord. Interesting anyway.

  • Oh yeah, yeah I'm so good! OOPS! Wrong note! OOPS! OOPS! OOPS!

  • Handel is probably rolling in his grave right now...or trying to claw his way out to deal with this organist personally...

  • omg, people clapped!? no! this performance should be mourned....really.

  • ...

  • What I think has happened-no-one told the organist that they were doing it at baroque pitch-half tone lower.

  • Handel's Messiah! Lovely, especially in this horror arrangement!!

  • Messian version. :D

  • @MattiasXL HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

  • @MattiasXL Spelling fail, LOL. Should read "Messiaen."

  • LOLOL!!
