People like to blame others for their problems, for their mistakes. It's a flaw that most people, that I personally know, have.
I drive a Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder, etc. but, I use my Dodge Durango to haul things that are needed. I try to be enviromentally responsible, but, I'm still young so I am going to make mistakes.
Very good video. I do have a truck but it is a Nissan and I use it for hauling things from Home Depot or Lowes since I can't fit larger things in my daily car. My daily car is a Honda Insight.
i agree people need to stop blaming the CEO's they are just normal males they had the right to enjoy the company money to so what if they spent company money on strippers,Jets,Spa Ect. like u said its the people to blame. good video.
The problem is the UAW. They increased the cost of making cars so much, that they couldn't make a profit no matter how many cars they sold. GM was the #1 auto seller in the world, selling more cars than anyone, yet with the UAW, they couldn't make a single cent for profit. Notice how the foreign makers who have plants in America don't use the UAW and were able to make a profit. Bottom line is that the UAW is legalized extortion and it killed the Big Three.
When the SUV craze was on I heard a lot of different reasons why someone felt they needed to have one. Safety was one. Need room for kids and stuff. Wanted to buy American made car. In one case I was told that his wife was too fat to fit in a compact car. Others got it for the 4x4 or a marker for being in the upper middle class. Was it marketing, patriotism, or peer pressure? Certainly Limbaugh was pushing them.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with a truck owner. He modified his fuel intake and claimed to get more horse power out of it. By doing this it used up more fuel of course, so I asked if he hauled a lot of stuff, and he replied that he only hauled groceries.
Interesting thing about this was how oblivious we looked at the conversation because he was trying to impress me with how much HP he got, and I was more concerned about fuel economy.
i know that my friends dad has a dodge Cummings diesel and we put a performance programmer on it. and it increased the hp 120 over stock and gained 8 mpg. you can even add bigger exhaust which will lower exhaust temp and relieve engine stress, which can add fuel economy. putting bigger injectors can do the same thing. but is a diesel not a big gas v8. but still a truck.

You have a few points. A lot of people that live in the boonies do drive smaller cars, but they drive farther to get to work. Almost a zero sum.

That is true, but the average American drives 12,000 miles a year, I only do around 10,000.
And I intend to move closer to the city when I have the means to do so.
