Very nice video. It brought happy tears to my eyes. :D By the way, I will be making exactly this dish by watching the recipe as I cook. Thank you for a very lovely video. :) I used to live in S.F. for many years and loved it!
Lovelovelove this video, it's so cute! I wish I had grandparents :'( Is this in California? Anyways this video taught me how to make chow fun hahahaha. It literally did, pretty simple. After watching this my sister and I are always like, "Chow fun for my GRANDsooon" Haha anytime i go out in order it, it reminds me of this video hahaha :) So cute!
Hey Slick, my wife used to wait on your grandfather at the New Pacific Court restaurant. I guess he and your grandma used to eat there all the time. She said your grandpa was one of the nicest clients she's waited on during her tenure there. Cheers, brother chinaman.
im italian, 2nd generation, this vid shows me how lucky we (ethnic americans ) are to be able to be with and experience the people from the "old countries"that most likely came here broke , but wealthy in culture and pride ,
no matter what nationality, its all the same, the broken english , the stories , the feeling we had when that aroma of the cooking that hit us when we entered grandmas house, that if it hit you today you feel like your right there as a kid again, GRANDPARENTS!!
thank you so much for this video. i miss my grandparents so much, and i would give anything in the world to have one more home cooked meal with them. you will be thankful you made this video, because when they pass you certainly wish you had something like this to remember all the little things that made them special
So smart of you to capture this. Absolutely heartwarming. Chow Fun is one of my (if not favorite) Chinese foods. To me it is also an economic indicator since when I was a kid it was 75 cents in Chinatown in New York. When the price increased, it would do so at five cent increments, then twenty-five. Today, it probably increases at a buck a pop. Last week's take out price in Miami was $14.00 . Hmm,...think I am getting old. Thanks for the post
Thank you so much for sharing such a personal & touching part of your family. I just love your grandfather, I want to hug him! Always smiling and proud to serve his family...his special grandson. Much love to you.
I love this video.. Ur grandfather is truly a definition of a real man.. u are truly blessed to have had ur grandfather cook for u.. i never really met my grandparents and watching this video bought tears to my eyes.. they are the cutest couple ever.. i pray my husband and i will live to still have the spark that ur grandparents still show in here.. i've been looking for a good chow fun recipe for the longest and could never find one that reminded me of HAWAI'I.. this is the best i seen so far
What's the golden moment!! You guy have a wonderful Grand-parent. So sweet and warmths family! I don't know and I don't get the chance to meet My grand-parent. My grand-parent was passed away a decades long before I say Hi to the world!
Thanks again for posting Chao-Fun! Um Um Yummy Yummy............
The recipe is simplistic and classically composed. A wonderful lifetime remembrance to pass on to your children. It may be unsuitable for framing (the recipe), but the video will be very viewable forever.
Your blessed with these two. Treasure your grandparents, and fill honored to know and love them, as many do not know that privilege. I am very pleased & touched with your tribute.
This is such wonderful video of your grandparents. They're soooo cute. I wish I have such wonderful grandparents like yours. Mine are mean and evil (that's another story). Well, thanks again for posting this helpful video. I can now cook Beef chow fun.

Have you entered this in an Asian-American heritage film festival? It's worthy of such a thing.
