Little coprrection re below. Rus was Ukraine's ancestor known as Rus-Ukraina from 10th cent. Rossia, misleadingly mispronounced Russia in English originated from Moscovia, a northern principality of Rus-Ukraina. Russia's greatest historian Karamazin states Russia was "born" in 1370.Ukraine was never part of Russia, but Russia originated from part of Ukraine-Rus. Even today most Ukrainians call Russians "Moskali", their old name. Even Putin does! See youtube reference VA5JmcwbQUM at 40 seconds
Stop all this stupidity. My great great grandfather was the mayor of Kiev and his son came here in the 1890s at age 20 and he called himself a Russian, you know why? Because back then the Ukraine was part of Russia, and Kiev was Russia's first capital, Russians and Ukrainians share the same blood.
for the record, im very patriotic, but russia tried to wipe out Ukrainians and their language during the rule of Stalin, by Russification of the Ukrainian language. russia also took everyones freedom away, especially artists, poets, and writers. hence everything was censured by him, and he had to approve of everything before it was publicized. Therefore, all the sources during Stalin's rule were biased in his favour, and are unreliable for the justice of Ukraine. Ukraine was taken advantage of.
@yuriymmi For the record, Russia suffered under 70 years of a social experiment no less than Ukraine, or any other country. Indeed had your Makhno or Petliura (instead of raising his rear end to Pilsudski) sided with Denikin in 1919 or Wrangel in 1920, then together we could have killed that Bolshevik beast in its infant stage. What kept you?
@Shalash87 After the annexation of the Crimean Khanate in 1783, the region was settled by migrants from other parts of Ukraine.[31] Despite the promises of Ukrainian autonomy given by the Treaty of Pereyaslav, the Ukrainian elite and the Cossacks never received the freedoms and the autonomy they were expecting from Imperial Russia.
@Shalash87 However, within the Empire, Ukrainians rose to the highest offices of Russian state, and the Russian Orthodox Church.[a] At a later period, the tsarist regime carried the policy of Russification of Ukrainian lands, suppressing the use of the Ukrainian language in print, and in public.[32]
@Shalash87 this is the link which u need to look at those last to texts i sent u. look at The Ruin subtitle and then go to the last paragraph of that section and u should be able to read what ive just sent u. as ive said, russia cesnored everything to protect themselves from being seen as the fucking dicks they truly were. r u really telling me that russia didnt have a bad history? if so ur just really ignorant, and u need to be taught some lessons about russian history just like i was :P X
@yuriymmi Darling, of all the sources you could pick, you chose wikipedia *sigh*. Honestly, why not read some serious literature instead? And stop boasting about your knowledge, my info below shows just how taught you are? So what are we debating, ah yes life of Ukrainians in the 19th century Russian Empire. Let's see Tchaikovsky, Chekhov, Repin, Dostoyevsky, Gogol... have whole, or partial Ukrainian heritage. I am myself 1/4 ethnic Ukrainian... So who is the "fucking dick" now, darling?
@Shalash87 if this is the case, then why are you being so ignorant? cant u see that russia is the one to blame for all of this happening...i mean it was down to the rulers of russia to do what they wanted to do, and that has forced the russians to turn a blind eye to the truth, due to rusification of ukraine, and also censoring of everything media wise in russia. now russians dont know what is the truth and what is a lie...russia has always ruled by lies, and itll continue doing so unless ....
@yuriymmi Why indeed am I wasting my time trying to talk some sense into someone, who by the looks of things, has never even been in Ukraine or Russia. As for Russification, lets see. Chernigov. Oldest part of Ukraine, that adjoined to Russia back in 1503. Back then they spoke Ukrainian, In 1900 they spoke Ukrainian. In 1991, they spoke...guess what Ukrainian! But that's half a millennia of Russification? Maybe its time to stop reading nationalist bullshit, and actually travel and meet locals?
@Shalash87 i am half ukrainian and half khanty (a nomadic tribe which was effected and still is being effected to this day by guess who? .... RUSSIA of course (as usual). luckily khanty were the only nomadic people which gained an autonomy, which you actually kept ur word to. and guess what i was born in ukraine, lived their for 4 years, and i have visited it several times since. russification never succeded of course, otherwise ukraine wouldnt exist!!! (think about that one) but it still...
@yuriymmi Let's see today Khanty is one of the most prosperous regions of Russia. Been there several times, great deer tushenka! The reason why it did not succeed was because there was not any at all! Think of it like this, were Ukrainians ever barred from acceptance to any jobs, schools, universities? Would Shevchenko become who he became, if on the basis of him being Ukrainian he was turned down at the Imperial Academy from the start?
@Shalash87 i must agree with you there...and i suppose that stalin had also treated his own people in that way, so im at a loss there (i do not bullshit when i know im wrong...i say what i mean...and most of all i am honest...if i know im wrong i wont say something that is untrue...im just stating my beliefs, and also of what i have been taught from several sources, and from what i have read. if i dont know about a topic, then i dont bullshit and bluff my way through, hoping for the best.
@yuriymmi Well living 4 years in a country and visiting it on and off is not going to make you an expert. Why not move there and live for a good decade, really let yourself be absorbed into the culture, into the mentality and them, and only then will any of your words have credibility, cause at the moment I have disprove each and every single one of your arguments. Незря говорят, со своим уставом в чужой монастырь не ходи. Good night now.
maybe i will, but so far im living in england, getting the best education at the moment, and from there, ill develop my knowledge and understanding of this silly affair and argument, and then i will know who is right and who is wrong. i will not be ashamed if i am wrong. ill just admit that u were right. (not often i do that to anyone).
managed to change a lot of the words in ukrainian to russian, and our languages are much more simpler. i am not a man of hate, but it is the history of russia which has made me angry. it is nota one off, but consistent. it is not to just one country but to many different countries, as well as tribes not to forget. thats what i hate the most, they seem to be bullies throughout their history. But hey, if u want to be russian then go ahead. im not stopping u, im just telling u facts which are real
@yuriymmi Dude you are now being ridiculous, what about words like: Принтер, компьютер, телефон, автомобиль, аэроплан. They are not Russian-originated, yet you take them for granted and do not bitch about anglification of our languages now? Why not? Human evolution is such that majority rules. And when cultures mix its natural for there to be Shashlyk, Pelmeni, Borsh, Lavash, Chebureki, Draniki on the menu of not only a restaurant in Moscow, but in Erevan, Tashkent, Kazan and ...even Kiev...
someone changes the way russia rules, and what its younger generations are taught. i mean cant u russians ever face the truth that u wernt the first slavic race? cant u face the fact that u were inferior than us, but stole everything away from us, and took advantage of us, due to our trust? you rulers were greedy, and they wanted more power. u became a stronger country and with that a more violent, satanic and bloodier country. u truly brought hell back up to earth...i hope u appreciate that!
@yuriymmi Russians were not the first slavic race by a long shot, and we do accept that we stand on par with our South (Serbs, Bulgarians) and West (Poles, Czechs) brethren. Racial inferiority was last attempted by Hitler, and Jews still run the world economy (epic fail, LOL). And watching old film reels how, the Russian troops liberate Ukraine in 1943/44 is very relaxing, seeing how the young and old, with tears of joy cling give them flowers, and embrace them, after a true nazi hell!
OMG it was updated on my birthday wierd :S plus im Ukrainian =D which is kinda even more weird :S hehe anyhow i love this song even if it is Russian...and i dont normally say that :P
@TheCossackmate If Kuban Cossacks are Russians by self-determination, and Russians by nationality and citizenship, how can one make a Russian more Russian?
@Shalash87 also, "KUBAN COSSACKS" are not russians by self-determination or anything else in that matter...russia is just really unimaginative they LOVE to steal Ukrainian things as well as make everyone think that famous poets and writers are russian and not Ukrainian. the fact is that russia just love to bully all the other countries around them...most noticeably Ukrainians. have u ever looked through russian history? it is so DARK, whereas Ukrainian history is full of Spirit and Patriotism :P
@yuriymmi Let's see they were born in Russia, they speak Russian, they are Russian Orthodox, and they hold Russian citizenship. What other criteria do you need? As for writers and poets, read Pushkin (1/4 Ethiopian btw) and tell me if this man had any adverse feelings for his country, would he write with such passion and love? Gogol, same thing. Russian history is not dark by any measure. We are proud of what we are and what our forefathers achieved.
@Shalash87 i just want to say that russians never existed before ukraine. slaves came from ukrainians who descended from up north from the vikings and nomads who moved to the south. a lot of the history and writing, arts, poems, etc were censored by russia, and a lot of it isnt true...have u ever heard of a famous UKRAINIAN poet called Taras Shevchenko? many people belive he is russian, (russians dont deny it) becasue he was forced to write in russian when ukraine were taken over by them ......
@yuriymmi Slaves came from Ukraine indeed, Turkish harems had high regard to Ukrainian slaves, as their brothels continue the tradition to this day ... Slavs (no e, try avoid embarrassing yourself like that next time ;) came from the Balkans/Carpathians, themselves being descendants of Scythians and Sarmatians rather than Vikings and Nomads who were much later. I heard Shevchenko, and I do believe all his poems were written only in Ukrainian, his prose on the other hand is in Russian, what worry
@Shalash87 ............ u must have nicked that from ukrainians, because the way i see it...even nowadays, is that ukraine wrote and still write with a burning sense of passion. we have been passionate ever since we began as a nation, but we have been disrupted by mongols, poles, lithuanians, and most of all russians. russians like to make lives hard for ukrainians, and as 1/4 ukrainian, i hope that u can appreciate how much our lives have been disrupted by russians over the 100's of years.....
@yuriymmi Let's see I was born in Russia, grew up in Russia, and love Russia. I have no problem with anyone from the 100s of indigenous and non-indigenous nations living here. We are a free country btw. Look at the Russian government, there are Russians, but there is also a Tuvian, a few Tatars etc. Look at our sportsmen, all our wrestlers are Kavkazians, the mayor of our second largest city, Saint Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko is from Western Ukraine. Do I have a problem with that? Hell no!
Russia disrupted Ukraine? hmm, let's see, first we offer security to the Hetmanate from Poles, who threatened the very existence of Ukrainian culture, the Orthodox Church forcibly replacing it with its Uniate heresy. In return the Ukrainain clergy dominated the Moscow Patriarchate. Next we finish off Poland by its partitions, uniting the left-bank and right-bank Ukraine, donate the Donbass in 1920, Western Ukraine in 39, and Crimea in 54. hmm enlarging an entity is opposite of disruption
@Shalash87 yeah u offered security to the Hetmanate, but then Peter the Great realized that to modernize russia's political and economic power, he had to remove the Hetmanate. because of this Mazepa joined forces with the poles swedes against russia in which they got wiped out. from this, russia took the divided ukraine into two, giving austria-hungary the other part of ukraine. the Treaty of Pereyaslav said that ukrainians and cossacks could have freedom, but imperial russia never gave it
@yuriymmi Peter, did not remove the Hetmante, Catherine dissolved it. Peter ousted Mazepa, who he viewed as a trustworthy ally, before he back stabbed him. Then came Poltava, and I take it you have been butt hurt ever since? :D
@Shalash87 but of which people are oblivious to. also i want to say that ukrainians were so desperate, that they actaully allowed hitler and the nazis to libertae them from russians (bad mistake of course, but it shows how NICE you were to us, to allow enemy forces freely walk into ur empire.) i have never watched such films, but i suppose i must have been nicer for them to relaise that instead of fighting with eachother, (origins of the same race) they both had the same enemy...u just treated
@yuriymmi See, liberate who from the Russians, if the Ukrainian SSR was ruled by the Communist Party of Urkaine, whose members were...Ukrainains. Once again, stop the butt hurt bullshit! On purpose nobody in Russia wanted to destroy Ukraine. Because had we wanted to, we would have done so long ago. On the contrary sometimes I feel sorry that we cut you too much slack. Maybe a little show of force would put you back in your place.
@Shalash87 ....well i totally disagree with that...u killed millions of people all across eastern europe, and western asia, most noticeably, ukrainians. u have definitely one of the darkest histories recorded in the world ever, and most of that happened during less than a century. u havnt achieved anything. all of that was achieved by ukrainians, and like u always do, u nicked our ideas etc...and said it was urs coz u were the more powerful country and people listened to u
@yuriymmi I personally never killed anyone! I would never want to cause pain to anyone particularly a Ukrainian, who as you say, we consider a close brotherly nation. So why cause pain to yourself then? It's funny how you say we nicked your ideas, but what makes you think they are yours? Sergey Korolyov, designing his rockets, did not do so for the benefit of Ukraine, but for the whole Soviet Union! Larissa Latynina winning gold, did it for the Soviet Union, not Ukraine. Don't be silly!

May be i dont understand something but no russian language was at Kuban'. Even after some centures under Moscow there in villages speaking on language with many ukrainian words. So this song not in the Kuban cossacks language.
@iyalovecky Shows how little you know history, Kuban was awarded to the Black Sea Cossacks by a decree of Catherine II in 1792. Cossacks never lived in villages, but in stanitsas (unlike peasants). There is no Kuban cossack langauge, the Kuban dialect "balachka" is a hybrid of modern Russian and 18th century Little Russian of the steppe. And fyi Kuban was not under Moscow, but a frontier for a powerful Empire, and Kuban Cossacks made up the personal guard of the Emperor himself.
@Shalash87 You write nonsense! Zaporizhian Cossacks were forcibly deported from Ukraine to the Kuban. Balachka emerged by Russification of Ukrainian language. Stop lying!
@TheCossackmate FYI Zaporozhian Sich disbanded in 1775, Black Sea Cossack Host re-established in 1787. Following their service in Russo-Turkish War (1787-1792) Catherine II awarded them the Kuban land. Those that did not want fled to the Danube delta or remained in Ukraine. Balachka, like Surzhik, was a dialect that formed in the late 19th century... If what you say is true, please provide an original source and citation (manifesto, decree etc.). :)
@Shalash87 mate ukrainians were forced by the russians to do whatever they wanted them to do. the ukrainian Cossacks were forced to serve under the Emperors as his guard, despite other people and other sources saying that they volunteered. Back then the Russain imperials werent very friendly, they threatened to kill them and their families...tbh not much has changed during Russification and Communism, especially under Stalin's rule...at least Lenin knew what kinda man he was...
@yuriymmi FYI, Cossacks were never forced to do anything. Last time Lenin & Trotsky forced them to be something, they ended up with no less than 80% of centres of the White Army being based on Cossack lands. Read Sholkhov's Quiet Don. Also if you forced someone to act as you guard against his will, would you actually trust him to save your life? Doubt it! Cossacks were the most trustworthy units of the Russian Army, Desertion rate - almost zero!
@Shalash87 i disagree with cossacks never being forced to do anything...because they were. they were told to die, or serve the russian army. if they did serve by their own free will, it was probs that they still wanted to live, and not be wiped out by the russians or even the polish/lithuanians. both were attacking ukraine at that time. i thought u knew, that the actual body guards were only a few selected members of that regiment, but that the regiment carried the title for display :S
@yuriymmi Being 1/4 Ukrainian, leaves the rest to my Russian grandfather from Pskov, and my ... Kuban Cossack father from Pashkovskaya stanitsa. So I do not who you are speaking for, but as Cossack myself I can say, that the lifestyle of my forefathers is one of their choice. Cossacks were the most reliable army units the whole army had. Cossacks were the explorers who in half a century went from the Ural mountains to the Pacific Ocean. As for display role of body guard, a source to back up pls
@iyalovecky Not entirely, Black Sea Cossacks, were former Zaporozhians who agreed to loyaly server Russia in 1787, and for their performance in the Russo-Turkish War, they were rewarded the lower Kuban land. Zaporozhian Sich itself was not the same as the Hetmanate, the latter is indeed the predecessor to modern Ukraine. The Sich however was a true Cossack entity.
@Gaudd If you read what I said you stupid mfker maybe you would understand. You cowardly ass Russian were killing our children long before we was killing yours. You refuse to listen till we do to you what, you been doing to us. You sit bravely behind your computer all you want, you weak European bitch. But dont matter soon Europeans, Americans, and Russians will be even less safer in there countries, all because of people like you. Will be many more incidents like that, soon.
It would be cool if we had a TV channel here in the UK just showing stuff like this. As it is, all we get shoved down our throats is X-Factor type crap and little or no European/World music.
@RTK44 ...Funny, no double standered here Russians fight like bitchs and cowards and get praised for it. Cherkess fight like warriors, against unimaginable odds still are winning and get treated like dogs for it.Fuck Ursa, fuck Iberia and fuck you. Russia is losing numbers so fast there paying couples to have babies, you fuck with Caucasas you die dont matter who you are. 35 yo and dumb as shit, fucking rootless European decent bitch.
@RTK44 Russia was so desperate and losing people so fast they begged for help from Armenia, Georgia, and the Ottoman Empire. Russia then proceded to more cowardly tatics, night raids on Cherkess children, women, elders. Russia has genocided, countless innocents and nothing is heard about it. 37 Russian civilians die in a bombing all of a sudden its world wide news...
@RTK44 Most idiotic comments I ever read. Computers dont foam out the mouth and if you knew anything about Russian history. You would know they try to cover up and betray every country they allied with. Russia was losing there war to "mountain men" a war that Russia thought would take 6hours to a day it lasted over 300 years. Russia vastly outnumbered the Cherkessian people by the millions and were still losing.
Suggestion to dragonmanxx5:You want to discuss religion go to your church or find a site like jesustube or some other stupid religious tube of some sort and post yuour evil comments there where freaks like you can discuss them. This is fuckin youtube where people come to listen to music from all over the world and would like to enjoy what they hear and read nice comments. If you don't like the music then don't fuckin listen to it and quit your fuckin stupid remarks.
These God damned religious people always preaching to others about damnation. If they looked in the mirror they do more wrong than non believers. I fuckin hate religions and everything they stand for. What aught to be done is acquire every fuckin bible in the world and burn them. who gives a flying fuck who you swear your alligience to? what the fuck. I swear alligience to my Father-Lucifer. That is my choice, and sworn in till death. is it ok with you dragonman? lmao. nice song BTW
@Voodoozeko because they wanna be Caucasian. During the wars, and even till now Russia tried to make the Caucasians call themselves Coassaks
Caucasians refused.
They stole everything from us, Land, women, children, dancing styles, fighting styles, way we dress, but they were to dumb to steal are language. Its too advanced for them to speak it.
Actually the country called "Ukraine" (=borderland) has its colours from the Swedes because once "Ukrainians" joined Swedes in the battle against Russia. Artificial nation as you see.
@Proxy123RU that may be true...but underneath that pretense of colour Russians are truly BLACK AND BLOOD RED...if u dont believe me look at your history in the past century...the huge amount of lives Stalin and the Bolsheviks and other Communists Parties took (especially among Ukrainians and other Eastern Europeans) is enormous. do u recall 1921-22 and 1932-33? the famines which were mostly felt in Ukraine? i can talk more, but i dont want to humiliate the russians anymore...research ur his.
@yuriymmi mate, need I remind you that Stalin was not Russian? As for famine of 1921-22, then Ukraine actually was nothing compared to the Povolzheye and Orenburg regions, which lost several million people. Same with your Holodomor, which compared to say Northern Kazakhstan or Kurgan, which cannibalism from starvation, Ukraine escaped lucky.
@Shalash87 i know stalin wasnt russian...he was georgian, and he hated them as much as anyone including russian people himself. he even terrorized them when other country leaders told him not to...he was ashamed of not being russian...he wanted to keep the trend of violent rulers in russia. ok u may be right with the famines, but that does not mean that what stalin did was acceptable. that means he killed even more people, who wernt ukrainian. yeah we escaped lucky, but that doenst mean that...
@yuriymmi Stalin was a man of his time, and to be fair his cruelty was minuscule compared to the plans that Lenin, Trotsky and Sverdlov had in plan. He created dozens of concentration camps, they wanted to turn the whole country into one large concentration camp. That does not mean I condone his actions.
the famines should have been imposed on any of us in the first place. there was enough food to feed people, and gran was just rotting in trains which were stationed, but locked up (down to Rasputin taking over as 'Tsar' and the tsarivna not knowing what she was doing). stalin even admitted that he had to kill people in order to industrialize russia, but he rephrased that to 'sacrificing' his people...most of them wernt even his people to kill, just the idea that he had control over everyone.
marsaxlokk : i am so with you on your comment. AMEN!!! Seems like everytime i come in to listen to some nice music someones fighting about something. I'm not sure where you are from but I am from Texas USA here we have a saying.."The more you stir shit the more it stinks" SO VERY TRUE....
i have no clue what everyone keeps arguing on about. it's same in my part of the world, every topic you have you always have several idiots bringing in the racial/national issues... :(((
why can't everyone just listen to nice music and leave politics and past where it belongs
I guess some people like being misserable and full of hatred. fighting and causing wars is there thing. some people just cant be happy unless they make others unhappy. this is an awesome song. Loved it..
These negative comments are the reason for violence and war in the our beautiful world. STOP IT!! Look around. Stop this insanity! Give Peace A Chance!
Actually it's not a folk song. It's an Imperial march based off of Pushkin's poem "song of the Wise Oleg" I agree thats it's an awesome song and in fact in my WWI reenacting we sing it as our marching song. Only we have to make do with my Garmoshka and no band.
красивая песня,
очень хорошо сделано

It is a bass balalaika.
Not as common as the prima, but it's basically a double bass.

Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 i am half ukrainian and half khanty (a nomadic tribe which was effected and still is being effected to this day by guess who? .... RUSSIA of course (as usual). luckily khanty were the only nomadic people which gained an autonomy, which you actually kept ur word to. and guess what i was born in ukraine, lived their for 4 years, and i have visited it several times since. russification never succeded of course, otherwise ukraine wouldnt exist!!! (think about that one) but it still...
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Let's see today Khanty is one of the most prosperous regions of Russia. Been there several times, great deer tushenka! The reason why it did not succeed was because there was not any at all! Think of it like this, were Ukrainians ever barred from acceptance to any jobs, schools, universities? Would Shevchenko become who he became, if on the basis of him being Ukrainian he was turned down at the Imperial Academy from the start?

@yuriymmi Well living 4 years in a country and visiting it on and off is not going to make you an expert. Why not move there and live for a good decade, really let yourself be absorbed into the culture, into the mentality and them, and only then will any of your words have credibility, cause at the moment I have disprove each and every single one of your arguments. managed to change a lot of the words in ukrainian to russian, and our languages are much more simpler. i am not a man of hate, but it is the history of russia which has made me angry. it is nota one off, but consistent. it is not to just one country but to many different countries, as well as tribes not to forget. thats what i hate the most, they seem to be bullies throughout their history. But hey, if u want to be russian then go ahead. im not stopping u, im just telling u facts which are real
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Dude you are now being ridiculous, what about words like: Принтер, компьютер, телефон, автомобиль, аэроплан. They are not Russian-originated, yet you take them for granted and do not bitch about anglification of our languages now? Why not? Human evolution is such that majority rules. And when cultures mix its natural for there to be Shashlyk, Pelmeni, Borsh, Lavash, Chebureki, Draniki on the menu of not only a restaurant in Moscow, but in Erevan, Tashkent, Kazan and ...even Kiev...
Shalash87 9 months ago
someone changes the way russia rules, and what its younger generations are taught. i mean cant u russians ever face the truth that u wernt the first slavic race? cant u face the fact that u were inferior than us, but stole everything away from us, and took advantage of us, due to our trust? you rulers were greedy, and they wanted more power. u became a stronger country and with that a more violent, satanic and bloodier country. u truly brought hell back up to earth...i hope u appreciate that!
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Russians were not the first slavic race by a long shot, and we do accept that we stand on par with our South (Serbs, Bulgarians) and West (Poles, Czechs) brethren. Racial inferiority was last attempted by Hitler, and Jews still run the world economy (epic fail, LOL). And watching old film reels how, the Russian troops liberate Ukraine in 1943/44 is very relaxing, seeing how the young and old, with tears of joy cling give them flowers, and embrace them, after a true nazi hell!

This video is tipical example of today's Russification of Kuban Cossacks (Ukrainians) ...
TheCossackmate 10 months ago
@TheCossackmate If Kuban Cossacks are Russians by self-determination, and Russians by nationality and citizenship, how can one make a Russian more Russian?
Shalash87 10 months ago
@Shalash87 also, "KUBAN COSSACKS" are not russians by self-determination or anything else in that matter...russia is just really unimaginative they LOVE to steal Ukrainian things as well as make everyone think that famous poets and writers are russian and not Ukrainian. the fact is that russia just love to bully all the other countries around them...most noticeably Ukrainians. have u ever looked through russian history? it is so DARK, whereas Ukrainian history is full of Spirit and Patriotism :P
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Let's see they were born in Russia, they speak Russian, they are Russian Orthodox, and they hold Russian citizenship. What other criteria do you need? As for writers and poets, read Pushkin (1/4 Ethiopian btw) and tell me if this man had any adverse feelings for his country, would he write with such passion and love? Gogol, same thing. Russian history is not dark by any measure. We are proud of what we are and what our forefathers achieved.
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 i just want to say that russians never existed before ukraine. slaves came from ukrainians who descended from up north from the vikings and nomads who moved to the south. a lot of the history and writing, arts, poems, etc were censored by russia, and a lot of it isnt true...have u ever heard of a famous UKRAINIAN poet called Taras Shevchenko? many people belive he is russian, (russians dont deny it) becasue he was forced to write in russian when ukraine were taken over by them ......
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Slaves came from Ukraine indeed, Turkish harems had high regard to Ukrainian slaves, as their brothels continue the tradition to this day ... Slavs (no e, try avoid embarrassing yourself like that next time ;) came from the Balkans/Carpathians, themselves being descendants of Scythians and Sarmatians rather than Vikings and Nomads who were much later. I heard Shevchenko, and I do believe all his poems were written only in Ukrainian, his prose on the other hand is in Russian, what worry
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 ............ u must have nicked that from ukrainians, because the way i see it...even nowadays, is that ukraine wrote and still write with a burning sense of passion. we have been passionate ever since we began as a nation, but we have been disrupted by mongols, poles, lithuanians, and most of all russians. russians like to make lives hard for ukrainians, and as 1/4 ukrainian, i hope that u can appreciate how much our lives have been disrupted by russians over the 100's of years.....
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Let's see I was born in Russia, grew up in Russia, and love Russia. I have no problem with anyone from the 100s of indigenous and non-indigenous nations living here. We are a free country btw. Look at the Russian government, there are Russians, but there is also a Tuvian, a few Tatars etc. Look at our sportsmen, all our wrestlers are Kavkazians, the mayor of our second largest city, Saint Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko is from Western Ukraine. Do I have a problem with that? Hell no!
Shalash87 9 months ago
Russia disrupted Ukraine? hmm, let's see, first we offer security to the Hetmanate from Poles, who threatened the very existence of Ukrainian culture, the Orthodox Church forcibly replacing it with its Uniate heresy. In return the Ukrainain clergy dominated the Moscow Patriarchate. Next we finish off Poland by its partitions, uniting the left-bank and right-bank Ukraine, donate the Donbass in 1920, Western Ukraine in 39, and Crimea in 54. hmm enlarging an entity is opposite of disruption
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 yeah u offered security to the Hetmanate, but then Peter the Great realized that to modernize russia's political and economic power, he had to remove the Hetmanate. because of this Mazepa joined forces with the poles swedes against russia in which they got wiped out. from this, russia took the divided ukraine into two, giving austria-hungary the other part of ukraine. the Treaty of Pereyaslav said that ukrainians and cossacks could have freedom, but imperial russia never gave it
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Peter, did not remove the Hetmante, Catherine dissolved it. Peter ousted Mazepa, who he viewed as a trustworthy ally, before he back stabbed him. Then came Poltava, and I take it you have been butt hurt ever since? :D
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 but of which people are oblivious to. also i want to say that ukrainians were so desperate, that they actaully allowed hitler and the nazis to libertae them from russians (bad mistake of course, but it shows how NICE you were to us, to allow enemy forces freely walk into ur empire.) i have never watched such films, but i suppose i must have been nicer for them to relaise that instead of fighting with eachother, (origins of the same race) they both had the same enemy...u just treated
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi See, liberate who from the Russians, if the Ukrainian SSR was ruled by the Communist Party of Urkaine, whose members were...Ukrainains. Once again, stop the butt hurt bullshit! On purpose nobody in Russia wanted to destroy Ukraine. Because had we wanted to, we would have done so long ago. On the contrary sometimes I feel sorry that we cut you too much slack. Maybe a little show of force would put you back in your place.
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 ....well i totally disagree with that...u killed millions of people all across eastern europe, and western asia, most noticeably, ukrainians. u have definitely one of the darkest histories recorded in the world ever, and most of that happened during less than a century. u havnt achieved anything. all of that was achieved by ukrainians, and like u always do, u nicked our ideas etc...and said it was urs coz u were the more powerful country and people listened to u
yuriymmi 9 months ago

So this song not in the Kuban cossacks language.
iyalovecky 1 year ago
@iyalovecky Shows how little you know history, Kuban was awarded to the Black Sea Cossacks by a decree of Catherine II in 1792. Cossacks never lived in villages, but in stanitsas (unlike peasants). There is no Kuban cossack langauge, the Kuban dialect "balachka" is a hybrid of modern Russian and 18th century Little Russian of the steppe. And fyi Kuban was not under Moscow, but a frontier for a powerful Empire, and Kuban Cossacks made up the personal guard of the Emperor himself.
Shalash87 10 months ago
@Shalash87 You write nonsense! Zaporizhian Cossacks were forcibly deported from Ukraine to the Kuban. Balachka emerged by Russification of Ukrainian language. Stop lying!
TheCossackmate 10 months ago
@TheCossackmate FYI Zaporozhian Sich disbanded in 1775, Black Sea Cossack Host re-established in 1787. Following their service in Russo-Turkish War (1787-1792) Catherine II awarded them the Kuban land. Those that did not want fled to the Danube delta or remained in Ukraine. Balachka, like Surzhik, was a dialect that formed in the late 19th century... If what you say is true, please provide an original source and citation (manifesto, decree etc.). :)
Shalash87 10 months ago
@Shalash87 mate ukrainians were forced by the russians to do whatever they wanted them to do. the ukrainian Cossacks were forced to serve under the Emperors as his guard, despite other people and other sources saying that they volunteered. Back then the Russain imperials werent very friendly, they threatened to kill them and their families...tbh not much has changed during Russification and Communism, especially under Stalin's rule...at least Lenin knew what kinda man he was...
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi FYI, Cossacks were never forced to do anything. Last time Lenin & Trotsky forced them to be something, they ended up with no less than 80% of centres of the White Army being based on Cossack lands. Read Sholkhov's Quiet Don. Also if you forced someone to act as you guard against his will, would you actually trust him to save your life? Doubt it! Cossacks were the most trustworthy units of the Russian Army, Desertion rate - almost zero!
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 i disagree with cossacks never being forced to do anything...because they were. they were told to die, or serve the russian army. if they did serve by their own free will, it was probs that they still wanted to live, and not be wiped out by the russians or even the polish/lithuanians. both were attacking ukraine at that time. i thought u knew, that the actual body guards were only a few selected members of that regiment, but that the regiment carried the title for display :S
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Being 1/4 Ukrainian, leaves the rest to my Russian grandfather from Pskov, and my ... Kuban Cossack father from Pashkovskaya stanitsa. So I do not who you are speaking for, but as Cossack myself I can say, that the lifestyle of my forefathers is one of their choice. Cossacks were the most reliable army units the whole army had. Cossacks were the explorers who in half a century went from the Ural mountains to the Pacific Ocean. As for display role of body guard, a source to back up pls
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 Black Sea Cossacks? It was army formed from ukrainian cossacks.
iyalovecky 8 months ago
@iyalovecky Not entirely, Black Sea Cossacks, were former Zaporozhians who agreed to loyaly server Russia in 1787, and for their performance in the Russo-Turkish War, they were rewarded the lower Kuban land. Zaporozhian Sich itself was not the same as the Hetmanate, the latter is indeed the predecessor to modern Ukraine. The Sich however was a true Cossack entity.

Proxy123RU 2 years ago 29
@Proxy123RU that may be true...but underneath that pretense of colour Russians are truly BLACK AND BLOOD RED...if u dont believe me look at your history in the past century...the huge amount of lives Stalin and the Bolsheviks and other Communists Parties took (especially among Ukrainians and other Eastern Europeans) is enormous. do u recall 1921-22 and 1932-33? the famines which were mostly felt in Ukraine? i can talk more, but i dont want to humiliate the russians anymore...research ur his.
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi mate, need I remind you that Stalin was not Russian? As for famine of 1921-22, then Ukraine actually was nothing compared to the Povolzheye and Orenburg regions, which lost several million people. Same with your Holodomor, which compared to say Northern Kazakhstan or Kurgan, which cannibalism from starvation, Ukraine escaped lucky.
Shalash87 9 months ago
@Shalash87 i know stalin wasnt russian...he was georgian, and he hated them as much as anyone including russian people himself. he even terrorized them when other country leaders told him not to...he was ashamed of not being russian...he wanted to keep the trend of violent rulers in russia. ok u may be right with the famines, but that does not mean that what stalin did was acceptable. that means he killed even more people, who wernt ukrainian. yeah we escaped lucky, but that doenst mean that...
yuriymmi 9 months ago
@yuriymmi Stalin was a man of his time, and to be fair his cruelty was minuscule compared to the plans that Lenin, Trotsky and Sverdlov had in plan. He created dozens of concentration camps, they wanted to turn the whole country into one large concentration camp. That does not mean I condone his actions.
Shalash87 9 months ago
the famines should have been imposed on any of us in the first place. there was enough food to feed people, and gran was just rotting in trains which were stationed, but locked up (down to Rasputin taking over as 'Tsar' and the tsarivna not knowing what she was doing). stalin even admitted that he had to kill people in order to industrialize russia, but he rephrased that to 'sacrificing' his people...most of them wernt even his people to kill, just the idea that he had control over everyone.

I guess some people like being misserable and full of hatred. fighting and causing wars is there thing. some people just cant be happy unless they make others unhappy. this is an awesome song. Loved it..

You could not have put it better: for the Tzar, for the homeland, for our faith. Thank you COSSACKS.

Why can't you all just enjoy the music? Have you so much hatred inside that you can not let go and relax???

Actually it's not a folk song. It's an Imperial march based off of Pushkin's poem "song of the Wise Oleg" I agree thats it's an awesome song and in fact in my WWI reenacting we sing it as our marching song. Only we have to make do with my Garmoshka and no band.
