So now Harper has gotten the Governor General to muzzle Parliament because he knows he's be voted out.

So he'll exercise dictatorial powers until January, when a Prime Minister supported by the House of Commons is finally chosen.

Not once did Chretien or Martin ever promise during an election to balance the books, pay down the deficit, or reduce unemployment. Chretien's and Martin's biggest promise was to eliminate the GST and they lied about it.

Under the Chretien/Martin dictatorship, unemployment went down once by 0.1% and then went up by 0.2%. Under Harper, unemployment had dropped by as much as 1%, if not more.

Martin reduced the deficit a bit... big deal! It was only due to GST revenue.
