While Glacier Point is 3,000' above the valley floor, it is actually at 7,000' altitude. I've heard flights of up to twelve minutes are sometimes possible, when updrafts are used, like close to the sun-warmed walls, but flights are only allow allowed from 8:00 to 8:30, unless that has been changed. This is my favorite hang-gliding video, having flown (powered) above Yosemite numerous times. Absolutely stunning.
