  • Sun dog

  • stupid paranoid morons... it's a parhelic circle, but nooo, for u it's chemtrails, ufo's and any other things that u could never prove... u don't deserve an internet connection.

  • Cool sun dogs too.

  • I saw this a few days ago!

I took a picture as it was fading, it looked amazing (:

  • I saw this exact same thing earlier this morning. Same thing.

  • you guys just got falsetto-nuked Really the only way to tell is the invisible mushroom cloud making a ring in the normal clouds

  • i dont think its cemtrails, however it is quite amazing, and beautiful

  • HELLO . I HAVE A VIDEO OF A SUN HALO OVER THE NYC AREA ON MARCH 30 2011. amazing.

  • thats all from chemtrails. wake up people. thats visual proof they are spraying us.

  • I guess the easiest thing to do when you don't understand something is to jump straight to the irrational; in that case this was done by God, UFOs, or may be explained by a myriad of nonsensical conspiracy theories that one can pull out of their ass.

The scariest thing is how conspiracy theories may substitute for, or be thought of as, real factual knowledge.

  • O.K if you want to see this find a large sheet of metal but it has to have holes in it about 1mm in diameter placed 2 mm away from each other(they have e'm in buses)and look at the sun through it and you'll see the same effect.

  • Chuck Norris's Smokin Weed~

  • CHEMTRAILSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • Beautiful man.

  • its from chemtrails you infidels...look it up its no secret!

  • All it is, is a sun corona caused by atmospheric conditions... Nothing more.

  • halo ftw

  • A beautiful 22° halo!

  • I'm wrong! It's a parhelic circle.

  • I've seen this before .. Wow i sat there just looking at it..then it changed different colors

  • The clouds are God in form just like everything in our sight in earth, and amazing things are starting to happen

  • good video. Nice solar effects! awesome.

  • reminds me of halo..

  • Amazing! Keep looking to the skies because wonderous things are happening all the time!

  • I was once flying and i saw an orange triangle in the clouds i bet no one can explain that

  • cloud iridescence. look it up on wikipedia.

  • ufo

  • giant dorito!!

  • mybe the clouds r moving around something invisable????

  • i can see ur halo

  • ive seen those before but at nighttime, and they circle the moon...

isn't is supposed to mean that winter is fast approaching?

  • The correct name of this sun/sky optic is a Parhelia or Parhelic circle

The parhelic circle is a white band circling the sky and always at the same height above the horizon as the sun. Most of the time only fragments are seen, usually extending from sundogs in the directions away from the sun.

  • looks like something from halo

  • Very very weird. Who knows what is going on up there when we look at clouds?

  • I think it's a sun halo

  • It is a sun halo, created by very high thin clouds that contain ice crystals. The crystals act as a prism creating the halo which has all colors of the spectrum like a rainbow. Effect is also called a Rainbow halo

  • iv never seen a sun halo where the sun was on the side. i dont know what it actually is but it surely aint a sun halo.

  • Sun dogs are where you see another sun, in the ring of the halo, but I dont' see any in this one, they are usually a lot brighter if those are supposed to be sundogs

  • Comment removed

  • Interesting indeed, whatever conclusion you draw.

  • ignorant gullibility...

  • The happening sucked.

  • normally the moon or sun is in the center I have seen this before very weird dont know what it is

  • parhelic circle.

    nice!

  • thats wierd me and my brother went outside one night and looked up and we saw the same thing but it was around the moon

  • i saw around the moon too, with my girlfriend in amsterdam

  • Great capture...Thanks for posting.

  • Looks like a drunk pilot doing one of those chemtrails.

  • very weird and... cool, never seen it

  • Parhelic circle, with 22º and circumscribe halo

  • It's really a sun halo forming in cirrus clouds

  • donnie darko much?

  • Very cool! I've never seen an arc that went all the way around the sky before. It looked like there was another one around the sun itself?

  • dude its a halo

  • o rly

  • ITS A HALO RING!!!

  • Circumzenithal Arc....................google it

  • I wish people would actually do some research and learn about the many strange and wonderful atmospheric phenomena that happen naturally before they start screaming "CHEMTRAIL!!!"

  • Holy Chemtrails... did you see the jet that made those clouds because that is a manmade cloud if I ever saw one.

  • no jet. not a chemtrail. this is an atmospheric phenomena called a parahelic circle formed by light reflecting off ice crystals in the atmosphere.

  • @Chromecast is this also possible by night with a full moon??

  • @unosegundo no man its called a halo its when the sun or moon line up in some sorta way and makes a halo looking like a space phenomenon

  • i have seen clouds like that the other day only ther were more than one. i took pictures with my cell phone. only lasted about twenty minutes. i live in garden grove ca .did anyone else see it reaLLY STRANGE.I WILL TRY AND POST THEM

  • odd

  • OR it's a halo and you're a saint.

  • this phenomenon is called "parhelion" or something like that

  • its a sun halo nice shots;)

  • They're halos caused by ice crystals high up in the atmosphere reflecting sunlight.

  • says a lot (sadly) about youtube that the correct scientific explanation gets a thumbs down and some conspiracy theory doesn't.

Haloes were recorded by sketch and early photograph a long time before aeroplanes were invented.

  • Sundog

  • i think it's a beuatiful (very rare)parhelic effect. i would not link it to the chemtrails this time.

  • I think Master Chief failed and Halo exploded.

  • ummm, Master Chief would succeed if it was halo exploding.

  • ...providing that he made a hasty exit first!...

  • hehehe, for the chief- it would still be a victory *salute!*

  • There is nothing strange about this, sun halos, and moon halos occur often. reasearch them!

  • That's a parehelic circle with Sun halo. Nice catch

  • what does that mean?

  • It means there's ice crystals in the air. They can produce several kinds of effects depending on their size and shape and orientation. megashorts was telling you the names of the particular effects seen here. There's also sun dogs, I bet, but it's difficult to tell since it's overexposed in that area.

  • omg ive seen one of these before

  • Maybe its a UFO deciding to go around in a circle?

  • You would think that the UFo would be a little more environmentally friendly ;) hehe

  • @JaminHell Heheheehehe hehe hoho Avch.....???!?

  • Whatever it is chrome - you captured an amazing event!!

  • thanks!! I glad that I can show people what I seen :)

  • I saw this too

  • sun halo with the five suns...phisically and mathematically current explanation are incorrect..

  • Ive only seen one of those im my life

  • The proper name for this is parhelic circle. It is caused by slowly falling ice crystals and is seldom seen complete. This is a great video. It's nice and bright!

  • a know for fact there was no plane. I was staring at this thing for a good while before I took out my camera. plane trails start to dissappear, this one did not.

if it was a plane that had flown in a perfect circle, there would be a plane still in the scene. If what you are saying is the case, then you would have seen a trail for where the plane exits the circle..

  • thats names HALO, ice particels on atmosphere reflected by the sun light

  • I agree. I've emailed this video to a gentleman who studies meteorological phenomena and he suggested Parahelic Halo as well.

  • That is so stange its a perfect circle
