As Nevermore1953 said, the Star Spangled Banner is one of the Most difficult songs to sing. It ranges over 2 octaves. I used to have to switch from flute to piccolo because no one else in the band had enough breath control and facial muscle control to play the piccolo version. As a soprano, I've also sung it in choir and suddenly realized mine was the only voice hitting the high notes.  Most Americans don't even KNOW ALL the WORDS to the song. Enough said. She did a great job.!!!

@AlexandriaKenmille Different people have different taste and Micheal Grimm not only sang but also played the guiatar and I actually liked them both but her being young will probably have a longer career. Part of Micheal's win of course was his choice of music he picked a style that appealed to a larger audience Frank Sinatra & Cher outsell Pavarotti & Hayley Westenra because some styles appeal to a larger following. Charlotte Church switched from classical to pop because pop more popular.

Thanks to Jackie, I now know the words to our anthem. Even the so called best singers don't know the words or they try to jazz it up and sceam so loud for so long you want it over to see the game. It seem's that some of you guy's seem to forget your criticizing an eleven year old girl! Who in truth is a better singer than a bunch of screamer's who call themselves singers.

The national anthem is a hard song to sing and unlike others, she nails it everytime. When she becomes an adult and is recognized as a true professional, then and only then, maybe, and I say, just maybe you might have something to criticize, but for now there is nothing to criticize except for the jerks making noises.

@Mandyxol For the record, Lisa Evancho, Jackie's mom said when Jackie walked up to sing there was so much noise from the roar of the audience Jackie couldn't hear her voice and started in a higher range than usual. But she decided to go for the high note anyway. Considering I think she pulled it off just great and showed tremendous courage in doing so

Nice to know that she was probably able to hit it but just couldn't hear herself. Her voice was beautiful as always I do think she could have used a bit more emotion here though as I thought it was a bit flat. Can't have perfect 10s all the time though.

i actually have... seems like everybody is impressed with her voice at this age. She does have incredible talent, but honestly be reasonable - it is improbable to ask for a 10 year old girl to be the perfect opera singer and to rival those who had 20-30 years of training. She does have the natural talent and hopefully if puberty doesn't affect her voice, she could be one of the greats if developed well.

She is always very sincere regarding the delivery of her music, and here she seems to be projecting a more thought provoking vocal rendition of this piece, instead of just her ususal entertaining mannerism.
