Sometimes it seems like the group is going between a joke and a hard-core endeavor to transfer the song from one genre's favored instrumentation to a jazz trio. Just in general- not on all their stuff. But I love it either way.

@harakyryx virtually ANYTHING adventurous a pianist does can be labeled 'random'. :) Whether or not it was all carefully premeditated note-for-note, well, most likely not, but I've already brought it into 'ponderous' territory there. hehe

@dalisman True, i don't think it's necessary to define "random" right now, even though it is obvious there are multiple perceptions of it. It also depends on which scale are we talking random here : this could be called random improvisation on a theme (restrained, smaller scale); random playing, means much more than this...take, for example, John Zorn's "cobra" game or, some of his live manifestations. That's what I call random...Yet discussions like this are exhaustive and exhausting -Nice song

This song is amazing - one of my favorites. They rock it even harder than Sabbath did. Also, I love the major refrain they throw in there. And yes, their drummer is WAY fucking intense. I mean they all are, but, ya know.
