Crente é isso mesmo..tem a necessidade de ver em tudo, biscoito comido, frutas, legumes, com a forma do deus que dizem acreditar, a próxima prova pra poder acalentar a fé, que nem tem....se é que tem...
This song is about loving ourselves unconditionally. And thankful for those in our lives that have done this for us. This is NOT about being inherently sinners. But since you brought it up, you have just played the role of satan. The lure was this beautiful song. I'm in the garden, in appreciation of this song, YOUR lure to anyone, and, , just like the snake, BAM...shaming thoughts. Original sin is original thought of shame. What B**LLSH*T.
Both things are good messages but have nothing to do with each other. IMHO the song is saying to be okay with yourself, no matter where you are in life or what is going on. Accept yourself as you are and work through the things life brings your way. It honestly has no spiritual implication as far as I can see. It's a wonderful song.
To me this is the internal feelings of many souls who are hurting, the want to feel powerful even though the world is knocking them down, or a disease. That we are accepted for being different for being who we are...and the religious part to me is that ...unconditional love is what God will give, no matter what..just that we believe..and we ask for forgiveness...I love this song....You see this in many individuals faces...
Thank you so much for sharing this song, and with those Bible verses. Our teacher showed us this in class today (I go to a Bible school for one year). The class is about identity, and this song really showed that our identity does not lie in wether we are rich, poor, smart, dumb, healthy, insane, etc. Our identity lies in Jesus Christ, and the fact that He loves us! John 3:16, Psalm 8 and Psalm 139! Good reading!
I don't really care what religious spin is put on this song, or none at all. We all choose to believe in something or nothing. But it's a beautiful song. And I love you all, regardless of you you are.
I've had this song in the back of my mind lately. I didn't even remember the name and had to look up the lyrics in Google. Life, my life, is turning some big corners lately. I gave up a safe profession to enter school and reinvent my career, only to fall down and scrape my academic knees. A painful chapter in my life is dying, along with the family member who made it that way. My relationship is hanging by a thread. My only family are 850 miles away. But it's OK, cuz I know that I will be good
people out here are rooting for you. i'm going through a divorce, quit my profession to go back to school and raising my 2 daughters on my own....follow your bliss!!!
I agree with Maximum1991, after a perfectly good song that lifts many spirits and makes everyone who hears it grasp onto hope that the " message" that the song is potraying, is that if you dont belive in God then your just gonna go crashing into the ground. I belive in God, but I honestly think that he never helps anyone. Someone can be a incredibly strict Christian or Catholic, here they have the worst lives ever, but has God or Jesus EVER been there to fix any of it?
Sister Hutch I hear ya. I am a have been a fan of Alanis from the 90's and Matt 7:24-27 reminded me of this song. That when we build our house on He who is the Rock, all the woes of the world hit with less impact! For our hope is in His promise! Alanis is a spiritual person, and talks about God. God works through many people and there are secular songs where God's loving influence can be revealed. The TRUTH is hard to accept which is why the road to eternal life has a NARROW GATE Matt 7:13-14
Yo Sister Hutch....Get over yourself calling all people on this planet a sinner. The Cathilic Church has used this way of thinking to control its mass followers. Yes we are all born of the same and we are all one but I will never agree to the thinking that I AM a sinner. I can only speak for myself here but new ways of thinnking are coming of non judgement and in that I see a peace for all who dwell on this amazing planet. I AM NOT A SINNER>>> AND NEITHER ARE YOU
I understand you. But I think it just means "people who err." We all make mistakes, some of us make bigger ones than others. None are perfect...that's all.
This was a very nice video..... until religion was rubbed in our faces at the end. But hey, to each their own. If you find religious meaning in this song, I guess you are free to interpret it that way, since music is what we make it be in our heads. But if you are a fan of Alanis, you know perfectly well that there's no religious meaning in this song.
Let's be CLEAR about thisamazing song. Each line ..."THAT i would.." NOT "I AM good" " I AM accepted." Truth is we're considered inferior if we are any of these things BUT That it would be nice if thatwerent so. No matter what human tragedy, we'll b fine, loved, and all good. Youll NEVER see Alanis gain 10 lbs.Her career would suffer, that's her point. How shallow life is. We are not fine, when these things/horrors happen to us. And THAT...is what we should be changing and pensive about.
Wow this was a nice video until the ending. totally preachy and I doubt Alanis would want this for her music. The words in this song, in my opinion, go against your fundamentalist way of thinking anyway. What a shame.
she didnt wrote & sang this song for the church or any other religious beliefs.. this is music in its entirety as an art form for all to enjoy & Alanis is the artist that made it happen. dont tarnish it for ur own selfish reason such as religious beliefs coz music is a universal language for all to share & enjoy.
Leave the poster of the video alone. Just because he wants express his religion through the song doesn't mean you'll have to agree with it. If he wants to preach about Jesus, Krishna, Allah whatever is none of your goddamn business. See that X button up there? Lastly, if I remember correctly, Youtube is not just for posters who have disillusions about religion and are jaded by it, everyone is enitled to their opinion and SisterHutch is just showing that. No need to go melodramatic about it.
@forcemajeur08 you are so right. liberals will do everything they can to destroy the christian religion. you can bet no one would have been offended if it was islam. fuckin cowards.
Exactly. That's what I'm so angry about. If this was any other religion most of them would've said nothing about it, which is just downright hypocritical.
Yo pienso que hay muchas cosas por las cuales podemos quejarnos... pero tambien hay muchas cosas que puede ser que nos acongojen pero nos hacen levantarnos... y seguir adelante....
We start out as sinners? Really...huh...I thought babies were innocent of sin, as they are entirely dependent upon others to care for them and therefore are not responsible for their own actions...silly me. And I kind of thought this song was about learning to love yourself for who you are, and being happy with who that is, not being told you are "bad' and therefore must reform yourself to someone else's view of "good" so that you can feel you are living a fulfilling life. Interesting...
I couldn't agree more. I'm not trying to boast my religious beliefs nor am I saying that I am or am not a Christian, but what a beautiful slide show accompanying an amazing song and the end ruined the capacity for ALL humankind to enjoy and relate to; It was quite a shame.
Just think: I was reading Milton's "Paradise Lost" & I thought: "Satan wasn't so bad: he only offered people free will & god's garden of Eden was just a tyranny to oblige people to do whatever he wanted to do". Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong or maybe I'm missing the point, but I'm free to be wrong, right, miss my point or put myself out there, questioning myself. I just don't like people who r so fond of their beliefs that mess up with everything and don't see anymore themselves
I gave to this video excellent rating, but I didn't see what u've written at the end. I'm no christian, catholic, bulimic or whatever else is in vogue kind of guy. But I think people come into this world with a clean slate. Their choices make them bad or good people, even though I don't think the world should be parted in good & evil, but it should be analysed from different points of view
Actually, I like the way you used the message at the end. Usually, I find fault with the way Christians use biblical text. You used it for compassion, and one doesn't have to be religious to know that we're all slaves in this monetary system the world over. Something's quite not right/natural in this world right now... let's not beat each other up and fall for the judgemental garbage we fling, including difference of beliefs. Understanding will get us through the worst times.
Was a fantastic video until I saw the Christianity stuff, still an awesome video - but it lost one star for me: some people are not religious or they are not Christians.
You've crapped it by putting Jesus at the end. Some people who want to watch this may not be Christian and may not believe in Jesus Christ (I don't). But it's still a fab video so well and done and I really liked everything before you mentioned Christianity.
Crente é isso mesmo..tem a necessidade de ver em tudo, biscoito comido, frutas, legumes, com a forma do deus que dizem acreditar, a próxima prova pra poder acalentar a fé, que nem tem....se é que tem...
That I would be loved even when I numb myself ??
That I would be good even if I lost sanity ???
