  • Health care is a privilege not a right. The constitution does not guarantee health care, nor is the power delegated to the federal government to give out health care therefore the power to grant health to its citizens resides in and is reserved to the states and their innumerable powers.

  • yesss, government is not there to provide anything. It is there to PROTECT our rights. Bitches paased the Health Care bill.

  • Yea, but wwjd?

  • How in the hell are we going to pay for this? Oh, that's right the government is printing money at warp speed with no end in sight. WAKE UP AMERICA!! Our dollar is worth less every day. It takes more american dollars to buy goods from other countries. WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WHEN COUNTRIES WE ARE IN DEBT TO WON'T ACCEPT THE AMERICAN DOLLAR ANY MORE BECAUSE IT HAS NO WORTH?

  • When in Gods name are people going to be paying for their own shit?

  • Just a sign that we really need Universal Health Care so that everone is paying for Health Care. Like a cooperative health care plan but administered by the people we elect to represent us, or an agency that they appoint. What's wrong with that?

  • Working people are going to have increased costs to pay for those who don't work, plus the care will be worse, and check the polls sweetie only 38% of Americans support this bill. You will be one of the first people whining when you see how bad this turns out. Also do you like the fact that if this passes, immediatley, we will be taxed on it,even though the plan doesn't even start to get impimented untill 2013.What do you think happens to all that money that will be taken in advance? ALL WASTED.

  • dmaul7,SWEETIE, we all pay for the uninsured today and I don't know what poll you dug up but actually 61 % of the population support health care reform. Oh, and by the way, I'M NOT YOUR SWEETIE !

You're as socially reactionary as you are politically reactionary. Try joing the 21st Century.

  • Check out Rasmussen poll, 38% support the democrats health care bill, NOT health care reform as you stated, and yes we do pay for unisured today, but only should pay for people who can't work to pay for it, not lazy pigs who want a free handout. If joining the 21st century means taking MORE of my hard earned money to pay for everyone else's irresponsability, you can keep it. Personal responsability, look it up Liberal.

  • dmaul7,I'm not falling for the class tug of war . That's what keeps congress from getting anything done, distracting the doo doos with nonsense.

I just love seeing my health care dollar spent on TV ads and local high school football games by my health insurance provider.

Don't say change insurance companies. Like most US citizens, my health insurance is partially provided by my employer. We don't really have much of a choice today.

  • Leaving insurance in the hands of Government, is just asking for chaos. Medicare, when it was conceived ended up costing almost ten times more than the Gov predicted. What if that happens with Health care? Are you just going to say "oh well", when you can't afford food so other people can have health care?

  • Ridiculous

  • Yes you are.

  • @Momsincharge That is the stupidity of this bill. I am uninsured and NO ONE pays for my health care except me. Now I am going to be fined and forced to buy insurance that will do exactly what you hate, paying my health dollars for T.V. ads during football. Instead of paying my health dollars as I see fit and what works best for me, I now have to spend it on the scam that is insurance to bureaucrats who add NO BENEFIT to my health. That is just immoral.

  • @Tracy1177 if you come to need really costly care, someone will be stuck holding the bag, probably not you. What a gamble !

  • @Momsincharge If I come to need really costly care and cannot afford it, insurance won't change that. In fact that is how insurance works: someone else pays for it. The difference is that those with insurance ALSO pay for bureaucrats and middlemen. It is just like playing the lottery, with the person running the lottery (the insurance companies and the government) skimming their profits off the top of the pot. This makes insurance a waste of money.

  • @Tract1177 you make a great case for Universal Health Care.

    Do you have auto insruance???

  • Yes, I have auto insurance by state mandate. That is also immoral. And Universal Health Care does not exist! Name me just one country or system that actually provides equal health care to all of citizens. By definition, if even one person is denied care, that system is not universal. Since no country can provide heart transplants to all those who need one, no country provides UNIVERSAL health care. And no, my case is against the government. How is fining me, helping me?

  • No. You do not pay for the uninsured. That is a lie. I am uninsured. And NO ONE, except me, pays for my health care. What you do pay for, are those who don't pay their bills, that includes BOTH insured and uninsured. So quit perpetuating this lie.

  • @Tracy1177, please quit twisting things to fit your silly perceptions and justifications.

Having auto insurance and health insurance is considered being responsible and anticipating future needs, it is not immoral.

  • @Momsincharge How is it being responsible? How is paying someone else to pay my bills for me being responsible? And what is immoral, is forcing someone to purchase insurance. Insurance is nothing more than gambling. It is NOT a savings account. It is nothing more than a lottery, where everyone pays into the pot and those lucky enough to fit the lottery administrator's profile, get paid out. And just like all lotteries, the administrator takes a cut. How is forced gambling moral?

  • Bullshit!

  • but here one I just found out with amended senate bill.

The fines of $75 the first year, $250- then $750 will be for also companies that don't provide healthcare for their employees.

The one that do now pay anywheres of $5000 to $12000 a year.

It'll be cheaper for companies to pay $750 a year and save all that money and just tell their empolyees get on the public option if they wnat healthcare.

And still you dumb ass kids don't see what is happening.

  • This bill will cost the middle class to move into poverty.

  • other countries do it, why can't we? Our economy is over 3 to 7 times larger than those countries that provide better healthcare coverage than we do. After WWII our debt was 126% of GDP, after this law is in place (with the stimulus package) our debt wont even be 70%. Plus the banks and the auto companies will be paying back bailout funds plus intrest. So what the problem? Are you saying America cant compete?

  • Goodness me, this is AMERICA, not Britain. In America, people don't like getting taxed up the ass. Unfortunately, that is what will happen now that this fucking bill has been passed.

  • @narutoyondaime14

the world will not end, it's going to be OK, fear is ugly

  • If the Corporate Whores are able to filibuster this

THEN WE NEED TO BE TAKING NAMES AND MAKE CERTAIN THEY'RE DEFEATED IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

  • High Crimes Any person who votes for this should be brought up on the charge of treason.

  • if this bill gets past this year. The taxs can be collected for it, starting the day Obama signs it. means all those that planed on that tax return next year. Well you can kiss it go by.

  • States footing the bill? HAHA. We are going to be double taxed by the states and the Fed. It will be cheaper to pay the fines and no one will get reimbursed. Hospitals and doctors will be lucky to get paid, and if they do the Government will take its own sweet time paying up.

  • It's morally wrong to leave 100 million Americans un or underinsured, 1 illness away from financial ruin. And it's wrong to burden small business with the outrageous insurance costs also -- saw a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

  • 100 million Americans un or underinsured????

were the hell did you come up with that?

  • every poor person in this country can have a healthcare card. what they don't have and won't have is a doctor to take it because the reimbursement rates are below cost. this is exactly what happened in Assachussetts and it is exactly what will happen with nobamacare. whatever the dems pass will be rejected out of hand by at least 60% of the american public. the death panels are already starting. a woman won't be able to get a mammogram until she's already dead.

  • I look forward to not having insurance just to piss the government off :)

  • The way the economy is going, almost everyone will be below the "poverty line".

  • well, if all goes well at least we will be poor and

    have health care

  • love the bo-tax. people on tv are beginning to look like barbie and ken dolls.

  • ALL AMERICANS should have access to Health Care !

Health Care is a necessity for all of us !

It is not about Capitalism, Socialism, Republicans or Democrats. It is about people !

All Americans should have access to Health Care ! No conditions, no exceptions.

  • every American has access to Health Care. If they are poor they can get medicare.

But to taxs everyone to pool into a one government healthcare plan is called Socialism and if made by force(fine and or prison) Communism.

"Exceptions", yes there are and should be exceptions. Illegals, only those born in the USA by legal parents,no one 50lbs over weight,no one that smokes dope,no one that has been on welfare for over 5 years, ect....

  • " This bill is nothing more than an attempt to destroy the private insurance industry, which if passed it will successfully do "

Why do you care about the private insurance industry ?

If this, sadly referred to as "industry" is viable, it will survive. If not, if it is not good (= not serving us, ALL Americans) it will disappear . This is how Capitalism works.

I want my Gov to work for me ! If Gov does better, get rid of the unnecessary private payer system. Keep the providers private !

  • Does this woman who makes 13K spend any money on unnecessary items? Alcohol? DVD's? Does she buy brand names or generic products? I make a little less than 13K a year, but I have about $2k saved up in a savings account should anything happen. Whats more unfair than this woman claiming she can't afford health insurance is that I am being punished for saving, ie the money I save is losing value. And if I do get sick, 2k is nothing because costs are out of control!

  • This bill is nothing more than an attempt to destroy the private insurance industry, which if passed it will successfully do.

  • There are 30 new taxes on persons and businesses she convinetly didn't mention including taxes on hospitals currently working off charitable donations. Health care costs might do down, but rest assured your taxes will go sky high. By the way, why the hell should I have to pay for someone who can't afford something??? The woman in video, hey, you need a car too, throw that in too.

  • How is this "G.O.P. Blasts Senate Health Bill"?

  • I was using a nickel as an example. How the hell am I supposed to figure out what would be needed? And I've had it with that 3% profit margin bullshit. Last week a guy was telling me it was 2%. Cigna just hit 7% in a downturn. And is that an industry figure - or just the top providers that serve most of the country? We'll see what it looks like when they rite-size their Biz to account for the downturn.

  • "Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That's anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries..."

"Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year, as investors were warned of a stagnant if not shrinking market for private plans."

    AP

  • Yeah - 3% with the economy in the shitter. But that's not the norm. And with the revenue they generate, that 5 or 6% turns a pretty big profit. And what does it cost us every year to provide the growth that's needed to give them their bonuses and stock-options? Every friggin year my rates go up at Coke. Wall Street is like chasing a run-away growth train that can never be caught. This is some system we've got here. Turning a killer profit isn't good enough. It's always more more more.

  • And let's not forget that Health Insurers have a smaller profit margin than Hospitals --- what does that tell you about where the "cost" of health care lies?

The latest data I reviewed showed an average profit margin of the 6 largest health insurers at 3.3%

But of course, Insurers were the most logical/easiest target for demonization by the Democrats in order to confuse the masses

Same thing in years past w/Exxon -- everyone is too stupid to look at "profit margins"

  • Oh man!!! You mean that the insurance companies only have a profit margin of 3.3%? Best put another dead uninsured American on the fire and stoke it!!

We're not too stupid to look at profit margins. We just care about our fellow Americans more than the weight of a wealthy man's bank statement.

  • hempec: What a fk'ing idiot

First, like most Dem supporters, facts go right over your empty head. In addition to Medicaid, there are County/Public clinics & hospitals who treat the uninsured and/or poor

I know, those nasty, evil profits that a corporation makes. 76 other industries have higher profit margins than health insurers. That includes Hospitals, Major Food Manuf, Software for Int'l Security

Where's your outrage with Hospitals & Food since they have even higher profits?

  • Tsk, Tsk. I'm an idiot? My empty head has missed facts? I'm bright enough to admit that I don't know everything, and I'm sure that I've been an actual idiot in the past. Not here, though. Profit margins are irrelevant when compared to the well-being of my fellow Americans. We need to get healthier as a nation to help combat costs, but it is irresponsible, unenlightened, and downright mean to suggest that the poor get a lesser form of health care so that someone's wallet is healthy.

  • hempec: My original comment was not to you -- yet you responded w/childish, idiotic claims.. go "tsk tsk" in the mirror jackass

Last I checked, Food & Hospitals were important --- and they have higher profit margins than Health Ins. So I ask again, where's your outrage? Oh I see -- no one has told you to hate them

Mobile Homes are dangerous -- burn quickly w/fire, tornadoes, etc. Should Govt build them brick homes? Where's your care for your "fellow Americans"?

    LMAO ~ Idiot

  • 2010GOP: I made no claims, or stated fact, just opinion. There is a difference. Why in the world would you assume that there aren't a myriad of things that anger me? This video is about health care, so that is to what I was limiting my comments. Your reasoning follows no logic. I think I'll comment about how tragic our American education system is for a moment. Would you mind responding again to prove how horrible it is?

  • a profit margin of 3.3% of all the insurance companies togather.

yet coke-cola's profit margin alone is 6.5%. A sode company that does more to make the world unhealthy.

Burger King gas a profit margin of 4.7% alone, yet is allowed to sell unhealthy fatty foods.

This is not healthcare bill, (that's only 300 pages) all the rest is taxs and rationing care.

But hey you dumb ass kids can't see that.

  • Why don't they just put a small tax - like a nickel - on everything we use in our daily lives and cover everybody? This way everybody pays - and everybody gets covered. Oh - I forgot - because the insurance companies wouldn't get to fill their pockets.

  • Is a 3% profit margin really filling their pockets? You have no idea what is about to happen to you. A nickle tax?!?! LOL. Silly, health care is a fifth of our entire economy.... try a 20% tax on everything.

  • write your Senators to vote no on this massive spending bill that does not cut or control rising cost. But will actually raise cost to all. In the next 10 years your income will be cut by at least 20% because of this bill. It does not reform it expands our failed system. Please go to cato. org to understand what these bill are.

  • This isn't a healthcare bill - it's a Wall Street Blood-Sucker Bill. * Wall Street is like a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."

  • do republicans have any position other than whining about health care reform? Conservatives are known as the party of "no." With no better ideas the best republicans can do is cry wolf. i say fuck the insurance companies. america does not need a middle man to expliot people's care. this bil has many rough edges but it does not help when the other side screams nonsense. The G.o.p.'s position is to make it better. unless of course the health insurance companies has the g.o.p. in the pocket books

  • Boy - that's some healthcare bill. What does it cover 3 million people and cost 800 billion? Looks like the Republicans chopped the shit out of it. This is going to turn into a money maker for the insurance companies. Time to protest this bitch.

  • and did any of you dumb ignorance stupid pothead libertards even bother to read the bill?? if you did you would have noticed that by law hussien obama will require everyone to get healthcare or they get sent to jail!

OH YEA THATS REAL NICE REFORM ISNT IT?

  • you are a sicko!

  • im the sicko? you people are the ones who put a damn terrorist in the white house.

  • It's people like you who ruin America. You fear based

bullshit is redneck and I wish you would just shut up

because people don't want to hear it.

  • check your facts. it's people like you who are ruining america. people do agree with what i'm saying.. just read the comments below. the majority of them do not agree with obama hussien and his government takeover of health care!

  • Everything you say here is subjective. We are the only industrialized nation without nationalized healthcare and the other countries are doing at least as well as we are. Will it be more expensive? Yes, but it will be no matter how we choose to do health care. Quit being so scared, come up with real solutions and present them rather than dumbly pointing to the masses that agree with your intolerant talking points.

  • identify the problems, fix those, its called a business plan. to wreck the health care in place for 12% who do not have, just issue a medicaid card to those 12%. leave the rest of us alone. i will not pay for abortions, period.its murder.

this is not about health care, its about a power grab.

  • hempec america is that only free industrialized country left on the planet.

Guess you are one of those communist that says the hell with freedom as long as you think you can get something free.

  • Subjective and opinion. This is the problem. We don't have enough people listening to anyone outside of mainstream news, or thinking for themselves. What does it mean that we are the only free industrialized country left? You accuse me of being a communist (a tiltle that only means ill to the uninformed and uneducated) or someone who would accept a handout, yet, you don't know me. Go stand somewhere else with your lameness.

  • we are the only free industrialized country left means "the USA only free industrialized country left". That's what it means.

You back and support Communism, so yeah I can call you a Communist.

As in the name I'll stand. But I stand for America as a nation. Not for Communism and it communist supporters.

  • Thanks for the explanation. That completely explains it for me.

Do you even understand what communism or socialism is? If you stand against these concepts, you stand against public schools, libraries, museums, road work, unemployment benefits, social security, et al. These are all programs that we all use and depend on every day. Now, go stand in your corner and eat the PB&J your mommy made for you.

  • unemployment benefits????

that is payed by the employor. oh you are thinking all this money Obama took from the stimulus to give to states to help extend umemployment payments.

nope that don't count, that's a one shot deal.

social security??? you mean we all can get SSI, then why any I no getting any???

There is no museum where iI live, so where is my museum??

    You are atotal dumbass.

sorry but you can't be helped. Dumb ass brat kid.

  • Sorry to tell you this but you pay for your own unempolyment. At least thats the way it works in Michigan.

  • According to:

    Uemployment Insurance Agency

    P.O. Box 33598 PO Box 8068

    Detroit, Michigan 48232-5598

it is employer based, not employee based.

Means the employer pay into a unemployment plan, not the employees.

  • first the government wants to take my healthcare away, whats next? they are going to take my guns too?

NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT! i keep my gun loaded and i keep it wrapped in the american flag! im a real republican patriot and i love my health care by blue shield, my guns, and my religion. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT TAKE AWAY MY RIGHTS!

  • This, ladies and gentlemen, may be the first proof I've seen to disprove the Theory of Evolution. Way to come out on top, GodGunsGlory!

  • you sound like a dangerous person! I think you should

get help before you hurt someone.

  • you liberals are the ones who are communists and support the welfare of terrorists over your own fellow citizens but you have some nerve to call me dangerous.

  • Get a life GodGunsGlory

  • Let them afford healthcare by increasing competition across state lines.

  • I'm actually hoping the Republicans will filibuster to kill the bill.

All polls (except Rasmussen, which is paid for by Fox) support the Public Option.

If the Republicans kill it, they'll likely lose Senate elections in 2010 in Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, & even Texas.

So kill the bill & after 2010 we can get the bill we really need - ONE KICKING OUT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WHORES & GETTING UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE

  • Most people clamoring for marxist health care are illegals and those with multiple venereal diseases. If I'm fined for not having insyrance, and I will not have insurance because I refuse to deal with big government, then I'll be sure to send pelosi a dollar that I blew my nose with.

  • nice analysis...I agree totally.Rebublicans will lose those seats

  • I can go for that. Get the inurance company whores out

  • No dissenting voices from the other side of the aisle? Is this FOX or CBS? I guess they did fire Dan Rather for telling the truth about Bush being AWOL. Cowards.

  • here in england we get the cbs evening news at 12.30 am ( our time) but guess what channel that comes on? sky news whos owner just happens to own fox aswel
